When I saw "The Shoe" I did what MJW posted last night (12:35 AM) and checked the RGB values of the image.

I also know that monitor settings can change how colors appear and that color context can also.

If I take the RGB values and decrease the G number by 20% an increase the R number by 20% the lace color changes from green to light grey and the shoe color changes from grey to light violet (pinkish).

The human eye has sensors for R G B and Bright just like monitors do (go figure). And there are individual photo receptor cells for each. People who have more R cells and fewer G cells would see light grey laces on a pinkish shoe.

Scott Walker is 100% correct when he says that the Republicans must WAKE UP to the Democrats State by State power grab. They play very dirty, actually, like never before. Don’t allow them to get away with what they are doing!

John Walker. Aldrich Ames. Robert Hanssen. They are America’s most notorious spies; men who gave away some of the nation’s most guarded secrets for financial gain. Their legacy is measured in lives lost, and lasting damage to our national security.

But what happened after their high-profile trial ended, when they were led away in shackles, and the TV lights went out? Most Americans assume that Walker, Ames, Hanssen and other spies are spending the rest of their lives in federal, high-security prisons, a fitting punishment for their heinous crimes.

Puerto Rico has been given more money by Congress for Hurricane Disaster Relief, 91 Billion Dollars, than any State in the history of the U.S. As an example, Florida got $12 Billion & Texas $39 Billion for their monster hurricanes. Now the Democrats are saying NO Relief to......

....Alabama, Iowa, Nebraska, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and others unless much more money is given to Puerto Rico. The Dems don’t want farmers to get any help. Puerto Rico should be very happy and the Dems should stop blocking much needed Disaster Relief!

Good Morning! I'm still unpacking and catching up on laundry. I slept like a baby last night. That Florida to Maine trip is exhausting. I got tired of playing the license plate game and after seeing a Hawaii plate,I said,"I win!" :)
One interesting observation while on the road was the number of moving vans we saw going southbound. Good evidence of the migration out of the northeast. Some sections of I-81 and I-84 are in really rough condition, especially in PA,NY and CT (the overland route). Looks like lots of construction is planned for the summer. Just a travel tip if you're headed in that direction.

OK, two data points:
My RINOish chess buddy expressed concern because Trump's Admin officials get fired a lot, even 3 star generals who deserve more respect (what? how about jobs, foreign policy, Dem dirty tricks and so on?)

On the other hand, a recent NextDoor post celebrated loud military jet noises overhead ("the sound of Freedom!" and multiple expressions of support for our military guys) whereas we normally have whiny posts about noise and getting the gov't to reduce carbon.

What's your feeling for how things stand?
1) Trump's base is solid and has grown a bit. He'll easily win re-election and Repubs should get a boost in Congress as well. Dems are a train wreck.

2) The media's 24/7 attacks have turned low-info voters, the Dems fury driving turnout will cause Trump to lose re-election and we'll circle the drain more quickly.

Is this kabuki or is Trump both truthful and literal and really doesn’t want Mueller to testify? If the latter that is in direct conflict with the wishes of a lot of the JOM who want Mueller to testify. You would think if Trump truly thought Mueller was on a witch hunt against him he would want GOP allies like Jordan, Meadows etc grilling Mueller. This would help expose all the unethical things the Democrats, RINOS and Deep State/Swamp have done as part of the silent coup.

Very imprecise reasoning, especially for a claim you state as fact when it's only speculation.

The title of Rosenstein's scope memo was "Appointment of Special Counsel to Investigate Russian Interference with the 2016 Presidential Election and Related Matters," yet you claim his scope was so limited that he couldn't and didn't investigate potential Russian interference associated with the Steele dossier or whether Steele made the whole thing up, even though his entire Volume I was dedicated to Steele's accusations.

I think you should identify speculation as speculation and state as facts those things that are actually facts. It gets confusing otherwise.

Channeling Freud, I would say that sometimes a POTUS tweet of disgust is simply a POTUS tweet of disgust.

We have from Mueller's report POTUS's reaction to the special counsel appointment. POTUS realized from the beginning what an albatross a special counsel can be to fulfilling the duties of being POTUS. The tweet is a continuation of this line of thought. I don't fault Trump's reasoning here. I think it's sound reasoning. But it's not part of some scheme to manipulate the Dems and the press.

More confusion? I merely pointed out that your claim about Mueller backing off on investigating potential real Russian interference in deference to Horowitz and Huber, which you stated as fact, is speculation.

You "answered" lurkersusie's link to Margot Cleveland's "Not once does Robert Mueller mention an investigation into whether Russia interfered with the presidential election by feeding dossier author Christopher Steele misinformation" with a claim about Horowitz's and Huber's "FISA abuse" investigations, and in particular about those investigations taking precedence over Mueller's.

Was your 10:12 not speculation?

Tom R

BTW the Margot Cleveland oped in the Federalist is yet another example of bad punditry. Cleveland makes an either/or assertion on Mueller without even factoring the Horowitz/Huber IG investigation into her opinion. Everyone is speculating on Spygate which is a point I’ve been making for a long time here. Mueller and Horowitz both reported directly to Rosenstein and then Barr. Since Rosenstein has knowledge of what both of them were doing, why would he allow both Mueller and Horowitz to be investigating the same thing?

If I’m betting a six pack of beer on the issue my bet is RR directed Mueller to determine whether the allegations in the Steele Dossier were true or untrue. That was the entirety of Mueller’s scope. RR directed Horowitz/Huber to investigate everything related to how the Steele Dossier was created and how it was used to allow the FISA abuse and illegal spying on Trump to occur. IMO anything that Mueller uncovered related to the scope of the Horowitz investigation was handed over to Horowitz because that is what the rule of law dictates and how DOJ investigations are supposed to work.

In other words two separate investigations both reporting to RR with two different scopes. One determined the veracity of the Democrat allegations against Trump that he colluded with the Russians. The other is determining who all was involved in the greatest political scandal in US history.

Tom R

S/B That was the entirety of Mueller’s scope in regards to the Steele Dossier.

RR directed Mueller to determine whether the allegations in the Steele Dossier were true or untrue. That was the entirety of Mueller’s scope.

So Mueller didn't need to take longer than a month or two. That is especially true because:

RR directed Horowitz/Huber to investigate everything related to how the Steele Dossier was created and how it was used to allow the FISA abuse and illegal spying on Trump to occur.

My guess is Mueller was told the day he met with Trump and Rosenstein prior to his SC appointment that all of the Russian collusion allegations were false. My guess is he was also shown some of the information that indicated the Obama administration spied on Trump. You are probably correct that Mueller was able to determine everything related to the Steele Dossier was bogus within a few weeks or a few months.

Tom R:

why would he allow both Mueller and Horowitz to be investigating the same thing?

Because one of them is a special counsel and one of them is an Inspector General. The terms of their service, their authorities, and the tools available to them are simply not equivalent. While, you might have a point with regard to the desirability of avoiding overlap between two special counsels, lumping Horowitz and Huber together, as you do, is also a serious category error to start with. Defending the putative (not to mention, arbitrary) dividing line between any of them is not nearly as simple a matter as you seem to assume, especially when their mandates involve investigating so many of the same people.

Tom R

TK @ 12:07

You forgot to factor in the end of the Manafort case when lasted until February 2019. IANAL but I think basic logic dictates the Mueller SC could not be completed until all the cases were complete.

BTW we now know from Barr’s testimony that Mueller informed him of what his findings were going to be on March 5, 2019. That synchs well with the end of the Manafort proceedings.

Tom R

JMH @ 12:15

I see absolutely nothing wrong with associating Horowitz and Huber together since it’s been public knowledge for several months now that Sessions tasked Huber to work with Horowitz to prosecute any crimes Horowitz uncovered. Huber has the same prosecutorial tools available to him that Mueller had.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mueller-sentencing-memo-says-manafort-repeatedly-and-brazenly-violated-law

This all occurred towards the end of February 2019. Keep in mind Manafort’s plea deal required him to cooperate and provide testimony in other investigations. The assumption is those other investigations were the ones Mueller handed off to the DOJ. Manafort’s plea deal got revoked because he was accused of lying to federal prosecutors in those other investigations. Based on the fact Manafort got hammered with his prison sentence, it is my belief he did not fully cooperate and testify against Podesta, Craig, Weber or whoever else was under investigation.

That is the basis for my speculation a couple of days ago for the main reason the Mueller SC took over 2+ years. Mueller was waiting on Manafort to spill the beans, Manafort refused to, and Mueller finally said enough is enough and recommended a harsh sentence.

the things she is accusing Mueller of omitting fall under the scope of Horowitz and Huber

From what I can tell, Horowitz is limited to investigating the DoJ. If the spying scandal extends, as it seems it does, to the CIA and/or State Department, then isn't that beyond Horowitz's scope? And wouldn't that have been a reason for Mueller to investigate it? And if he didn't, what does that suggest?

Tom R

Jimmyk @ 12:49

You raise a good point. My bet is that some of the 12 criminal referrals Mueller sent to the DOJ cover the non-DOJ/FBI personnel involved in the scandal.

jimmyk

Here's what will happen if Mueller testifies before the House. The Dems will ask lots of leading questions, and Mueller will give all sorts of juicy quotes along the lines of "I did not exonerate the President," "There was evidence of wrongdoing, just not enough to prosecute," and so on. All of that will get quoted selectively by the MSM and trumpeted for the next year and a half. Republicans like Jordan will destroy Mueller, but we won't hear a peep about that in the media.

So no, I don't think Mueller testifying is going to be a good thing. But it will be up to the non-MSM to penetrate the mass propaganda generated by the MSM.

jimmyk

We'll see Tom R, I have my doubts. And it still doesn't explain why he (possibly) referred it to the DOJ instead of including it in his report.

I guarantee you that one way to shrink the government by attrition is to move the kit-n-kaboodle to Salina, Kansas.
