Old rock drummer story: when I first moved to Phoenix in early HS with my folks, we started out in a residential trailer park (fairly common in those days). A lady next door who worked in a local bank had an older daughter maybe about out of HS and a younger son a couple years younger than me. He was pretty small, so when he got a little older, he couldn’t get any dates and he decided to take up drumming to have some shtick to hustle with. Anyway, I lost track of him as we moved out and I eventually was across town at AZ State. Well I learned years later he ended up on the coast and became the drummer for Three Dog Night! (Not their first.)

Does anyone really doubt that Trump would love to have the FBI investigating his opponent during the campaign? Does anyone doubt that he would abuse his office in attempting to initiate or direct such an investigation?
I mean, where would he even get the idea to do such a thing?
Since the French decision is legally regarded as an ‘act of government’ and therefore cannot be appealed before national courts, the matter has been brought before an EU court with powers to supersede French laws, the lawyer challenging the government’s decision confirmed. “I cannot believe that we are in a country that refuses to save its children, that abandons them with impunity to sickness and death,” the lawyer complained.
Estimates put the number of children raised and indoctrinated by ISIS at around 45,000. They have been described by the European intelligence agencies as the “ticking times bombs” and the “next generation of suicide bombers”

Well, henry, considering that the Sasquatch and her husband are worth FORTY MILLION DOLLARS courtesy of book deals and the Netflix deal, she is somehow hooked in.
Or were you talking about the mythical West Coast Sasquatch?
--"We've come to a very sorry state when it's considered okay for an American politician -- never mind an attorney for the president -- to go and seek foreign intervention in American politics." --
Doesn't anybody here know how to play this game?
You don't say something that they're about to force feed you from your own side, Nads.
Barry, the Beast of Chappaqua, Biden, their alphabet bureaus and their campaign henchmen spent years hiring every two bit Ukrainian, Russian, Australian, Limey, even a frickin Maltese for Pete's sake, to intervene in our politics.
That's a function of the Dems having the wind at their back for decades, Ig - having rarely been forced to play defense. They've grown fat (no pun toward Nadler intended) and lazy.
Attorney General William Barr said Wednesday that he did not review the underlying evidence in special counsel Robert Mueller's report before he concluded that Mueller's findings did not reach the threshold to charge President Trump with obstructing justice.
Barr described this approach as a standard practice in which officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ) often rely on the characterization of the evidence uncovered in an investigation.
"We accepted the statements in the report as the actual record. We did not go underneath it to see whether or not they were accurate. We accepted it as accurate," Barr said Wednesday while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
This perfectly describes what happened to RR. Rosenstein believed his underlings and facilitated the undermining of Trump. RR didn't get around to what actually happened until later and was pinned in because of Session's recusal.
If it weren't for the plane trip to Florida with Trump and Session's firing, RR would have had no way out.
Now he can tell all and be protected by an immunity deal.
You forget Trump knew about Obama spying on him long before RR signed the FISA warrant reauthorization. You’re just assuming Trump automagically on that plane trip converted RR from a bad guy involved in the silent coup to a rule of law White Hat so you can avoid admitting RR has been on the Trump team from the outset.
Attorney General William Barr said Wednesday that he did not review the underlying evidence
TK, that's what Kamala was ranting about, and it's ridiculous. Barr shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel with his investigation of the the obstruction nonsense that shouldn't even have been part of Mueller's report. As it was, the report had all the information he needed to conclude that there was no basis for "obstruction." There was no "evidence" to examine. Even if everything was exactly as Mueller's innuendo and gossipy part II claimed, it's bupkis.
And if Barr had gone through and reexamined everything and come to the same conclusion, would Kamala and the Dems have been satisfied? They would want another investigation.
Exactly, Jimmy. And it is that standard procedure that RR followed. That is why RR had no idea what was really going on when he brought Mueller to Trump under false pretenses.
Mueller looked into Trump's eyes and assured RR that everything he had been told was true and that Trump needed to be investigated.
Barr already knew he disagreed with Mueller's expansive theory of obstruction, which, if accepted, would allow prosecutors to divine the inner thoughts of innocent people in order to convict them of a crime.
This is a curious story. One of the deans represents Harvey Weinstein.
Reading down through the body of the text I discover both are African-American, and the guy who represented Weinstein also represented Michael Brown's family and Aaron Hernanzex. Robinson was chief counsel for Senator Ted Kennedy.
I hope that RR spills all the beans publicly but I imagine the political value of what he is telling Team Trump will be so great that the more major components will amount to internal leverage that will get applied behind the scenes pre and post election.
Your movie script has some plot holes. You forgot RR learned of the silent coup against Trump before Trump, Mueller and RR had their meeting. He knew exactly what was going on before that meeting.
Don’t you mean Weissman’s theory of obstruction? I would still like to know how Barr knew point for point what Weissman was planning to do back in June 2018.
Unfortunately we will probably never hear what a mess Sessions created. Trump is smart enough to keep pushing forward. Rehashing how Sessions created the perception of wrongdoing is of no benefit.

The twitter sleuths will tie Sasquatch to the scheme by Monday.
Posted by: henry | May 11, 2019 at 04:47 PM
Well, henry, considering that the Sasquatch and her husband are worth FORTY MILLION DOLLARS courtesy of book deals and the Netflix deal, she is somehow hooked in.
Or were you talking about the mythical West Coast Sasquatch?

Miss M, not the Wookiee.

You've outdone yourself at 1:16, Buckeye!! Woot!
And I wasn't goofing off - I was at my three favorite locales: Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General, and then the vodka store. Now I'm goofing off. ;)

The brunt of that Trump retweet spree seems to be a plea to leave the 1st Rugrat alone.
Maybe Rudy called off the Ukraine trip to barter for Don Jr's safe passage.
We will soon see..

Ignatz,
The press people griping about Trump ordering the AG to investigate Biden are falling in the exact same trap.
My guess is that next week will be highly entertaining.

That's a function of the Dems having the wind at their back for decades, Ig - having rarely been forced to play defense. They've grown fat (no pun toward Nadler intended) and lazy.

From Barr's Senate Testimony:
https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/441643-barr-says-he-didnt-review-underlying-evidence-of-mueller-report

Video of Rudy's interview with Shannon Bream on Fox last night.
Pretty informative. Just now saw it - didn't know he was on Fox last night.

Now he can tell all and be protected by an immunity deal.
I'd be up for that.
Posted by: Extraneus | May 11, 2019 at 05:51 PM
Exactly, Jimmy. And it is that standard procedure that RR followed. That is why RR had no idea what was really going on when he brought Mueller to Trump under false pretenses.
Mueller looked into Trump's eyes and assured RR that everything he had been told was true and that Trump needed to be investigated.
Posted by: Threadkiller | May 11, 2019 at 05:53 PM

TK @ 5:53
Your movie script has some plot holes. You forgot RR learned of the silent coup against Trump before Trump, Mueller and RR had their meeting. He knew exactly what was going on before that meeting.
Posted by: Tom R | May 11, 2019 at 05:58 PM
Trump's rope a dupe continues to amaze me. He has them falling over themselves on a daily basis.
Fauxtrage over the fireworks display; Rudy to Ukraine; yanking Biden's chain......it really is quite entertaining.
