I am glad, too, and I am especially glad that he is supporting some of the more fringey people that the "perfect conservatives" don't like to be associated with.

A long time ago, back in the 80's, there was a movie in which the sinister power trying to control everything was "The Phone Company." It was considered sort of funny but it did recognize the danger of corporate control of speech and politics.

Now Silicon Valley is doing this exact thing and excuse me, but Zuckerberg is nothing but a figurehead (I think he stole the idea for Facebook) and is married to a Chinese. There are no coincidences, as far as I am concerned. You cannot now even MENTION Paul Joseph Watson on Facebook or you will get banned. Someone on Twitter this morning said this is similar to how the Maoists enforced social conformity in China.

Furthermore, the effort to defund people by closing off bank accounts, PayPal, etc. is really frightening.

I rarely use my Facebook account because it is too clogged up with stuff and I have relatives who get too political on there. I pretty much migrated to Twitter and sites like this.

However, I don't object to anyone using it, and I know it's valuable for a lot of people.

This is a terrible situation, because it will escalate unless something is done.

Here is the excerpt of Rosenstein’s recent speech where he criticizes pundits. Note the part where he points out they often have no or little information on the issue they are opining on. That means they are speculating.

The most recent example of that here at JOM would be lurkersusie linking to a pundit who cited an article from the Human Events pundit that was linked a couple days back. Both of them were speculating and it triggered the confirmation bias of some here that Rosenstein was not doing anything to stop Mueller from pursuing Weissman’s OoJ theory. It’s possible that is what happened but no one has proof of that.

Then there are the mercenary critics, who get paid to express passionate opinions about any topic, often with little or no information. They do not just express disagreement. They launch ad hominem attacks unrestricted by truth or morality. They make threats, spread fake stories, and even attack your relatives. I saw one of the professional provocateurs at a holiday party. He said, “I’m sorry that I’m making your life miserable.” And I said, “You do your job, and I’ll do mine.”

His job is to entertain and motivate partisans, so he can keep making money. My job is to enforce the law in a non-partisan way; that is the whole point of the oath of office.

In our Department, we disregard the mercenary critics and focus on the things that matter. As Goethe said, “Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least.” A republic that endures is not governed by the news cycle. Some of the nonsense that passes for breaking news today would not be worth the paper was printed on, if anybody bothered to print it. It quickly fades away. The principles are what abide.

Cruise is about 155 kts, 75% and 8 gph but I rarely go there. I'm mostly 95-115 kts, 40% and 4.5 gph.

Nice weather today so I headed out to Faribault, MN for the RV club meeting at SteinAir. A big handful of us have given Stein huge sacks of money and he has provided glass panels. My only remaining steam gauges are airspeed and compass.

I keep my feeders on shepherds poles in pots big enough to hold them. They're right outside the kitchen window on the deck so we see them quite often. The color red is supposed to attract the hummers so I fill the pots with red petunia's. I never have a problem with animals getting into the feeders. But yes keep those feeders clean, especially the tube where the birds stick their long beaks into (beaks?). A fungus can build up in those tubes and eventually kill the birds if not cleaned properly. I have a couple of tiny brushes for that.
