Steph, you asked about a family of red-tailed hawks and whether they could take out the birds at your feeder.
Hawks are lucky to take one bird a day, or not even one bird, one thing to eat. There are hundreds of birds that would eat at your feeders and survive hawk attacks. They're always looking, and only the dumbest or unluckiest get eaten.
September First the Red Line express bus system opens on the major street near us. They are building stations in the center of the street.
This is because they are making a center lane which is only for these buses. It is supposed to function like LIGHT RAIL! (Danger, danger! Warning, warning!)
Get this. You will NOT be allowed to cross over the center lane to make a left turn. What they are doing is putting in U-Turn lanes at select intersections, so that if you want to turn left you have to go to one of those intersections, make a U-Turn and then double back!
I foresee lots of accidents. People here have "no u-turns" drummed into them from driving courses and years of traditional driving laws.
For me, it will mean that I have to go north and turn left at a major intersection if I want to go south, or hope that I can cross the major street at my catty-cornered cross street.
I have several hawks and at least 2 falcons. I've never see birds get slaughtered by the hawks, but the falcons absolutely explode the feathers off of their bird prey. Doves are their favorite.
Red Tails are relatively slow buteos and almost never take songbirds. They feed on mammals and reptiles and maybe an occasional pheasant or other larger slower bird. Their presence no doubt would make other birds scarce.
Falcons are mostly open country hunters.
The true songbird slayers are the accipiters, like the Sharp Shinned and Coopers Hawks who specialize in woodland maneuvering.
Tom R: Thanks for that link. I've long believed that one of the main reasons for why the Mueller SC took over 2 years to complete is that Manafort did not fully cooperate with Mueller and help provide evidence against other Deep State/Swamp creatures that Mueller was going after.
And do you still believe that after the Mueller Report came out, and there's not one hint in it that Mueller had any interest in going after the Deep State? That Mueller, in fact, seemed to take everything the Deep State had to say, including Comey's testimony, as gospel.
Why am I reading this is the first DQ in the Derby? It's not. Or is the point that this is the first DQ for in-race action, as opposed to Dancer's Image's drug disqualification?

Looks like BOTH major parties suffered losses in the UK for cheating on BrExit.
I think MissM noted this earlier.
"Britain's governing Conservative Party said Saturday that it is ready to compromise to secure a Brexit deal after suffering its worst result in local elections for more than 20 years.
In contests for local authorities across England, the party lost about 1,300 seats, a quarter of its total, as voters punished the government for the U.K's Brexit impasse. The opposition Labour Party also suffered losses as voters switched to smaller parties and independent candidates."

Of course, The Manafort sentencing memo came out in February 2019 so that backs up the theory of one reason why the Mueller SC took so long. How could the SC investigation end when one of the cases was still in progress?
We know for a fact Mueller was going after Deep State/Swamp creatures like Podesta, Craig and Weber because he provided evidence of criminal activity on their part to SDNY. I imagine some of the unknown 12 criminal referrals fall under that category as well.
Queen Elizabeth told London Mayor Sadiq Khan to stay home. He’s not invited to the Buckingham Palace banquet honoring Trump. Seats are reserved for people in favor.
7:12 PM - 4 May 2019
Speaking of Yale and Clinton, there’s a guy in Santa Barbara who is a neighbor to an ex governor. I want to say DeConcini. Clinton pardoned him the same day as Marc Rich. The guy asked him why.
Apparently they were in the same group at Yale and the guy pulled Clinton’s drunk ass out of a river, creek or pond before he ended up like Blythe.
Tom R: We know for a fact Mueller was going after Deep State/Swamp creatures like Podesta, Craig and Weber because he provided evidence of criminal activity on their part to SDNY. I imagine some of the unknown 12 criminal referrals fall under that category as well.
We don't know for a fact that he was going after evidence against Podesta, Craig and Weber, or any other swamp dwellers. Much more likely, in the process of trying to come up with enough on Manafort to put the screws to him, he happened upon evidence against the others. It was almost unavoidable, given Mantafort's association with Podesta. If it were Mueller's mission to dig out evidence against Podesta and the others, he would have prosecuted them, not turned over the evidence to the others.
Also, Craig is the only one of those mentioned who's under indictment, and he was indicted by the DoJ in DC, not the SDNY. Some believe (and I don't disbelieve) that it was sent to the SDNY to be buried, and the DC office crossed up Mueller and his friends in the SDNY.
--If it were Mueller's mission to dig out evidence against Podesta and the others, he would have prosecuted them, not turned over the evidence to the others...it was sent to the SDNY to be buried, and the DC office crossed up Mueller and his friends in the SDNY.--
Not sure about the last part of that but wasn't Mueller bound to turn over prosecutions that were not associated with Trump or his campaign, since it was only prosecutions related to Trump that required an SC?
My understanding is he had no authority to prosecute anyone the DOJ itself could prosecute without a conflict.

MJW @ 9:20
Of course, The Manafort sentencing memo came out in February 2019 so that backs up the theory of one reason why the Mueller SC took so long. How could the SC investigation end when one of the cases was still in progress?
We know for a fact Mueller was going after Deep State/Swamp creatures like Podesta, Craig and Weber because he provided evidence of criminal activity on their part to SDNY. I imagine some of the unknown 12 criminal referrals fall under that category as well.

They shot that whole bus lane thing down in Nashville, Miss Marple but it’s a lot like the Music Man episode of The Simpson’s.
