Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Regarding what someone linked last thread;

Does anyone think American education today would teach The French Revolution as anything other than a how-to-manual, contrasted ever so positively with the racist, capitalist-roader, Amurikkkan one?

Ye olde "Huber has indictments ready" goes up in flames: (interview of Barr, thread)

Jeff Carlson @themarketswork

BARR: Huber had originally been asked to take a look at the FISA applications and the electronic surveillance but then he stood back and put that on hold while the Office of Inspector General was conducting its review.

Like the energizer bunny... prosecution never ends.

NOW Roger Stone's aide Andrew Miller has arrived at the federal courthouse in Washington to appear before a federal grand jury.

Donald J. Trump

In order not to pay Tariffs, if they start rising, companies will leave Mexico, which has taken 30% of our Auto Industry, and come back home to the USA. Mexico must take back their country from the drug lords and cartels. The Tariff is about stopping drugs as well as illegals!

Captain Hate

The French Revolution was a leftist fantasy starting with the Rousseauian nonsense on which it was based and terminating with mob rule and terror. Our Constitution made sure that didn't happen which is why the left hates it including RINO initiatives like the 17th amendment. Likewise the unconstitutional stupidity about state's bending over for the National popular vote, in effect selling out their own citizens.

fdcol63 🇺🇸

I think this story on Bob Iger is an indication that the "progressive" 2020 Dem candidates will double down on stupid because they think the rest of us are troglodytes:

Tonto & Miss Marple:

I hadn't heard of Mouse Magic scent pads (which may be one of the only things that you can't get from Amazon!). Oddly enough they sound like an update on an old country remedy -- no wonder they work! :-)

You can make your own by eye-droppering (that's for you, Ignatz!) peppermint oil on cotton balls. Looks like Mouse Magic uses a combo of oils ["Active ingredients are peppermint and spearmint oils"] which you could do too.

It's also a good idea to check locations where pipes enter the house, because the cutouts around them often have enough "wiggle room," so to speak, for small animals to squeeze through. I read somewhere that a rat can squeeze through a quarter-sized hole! Stuff the opening around the pipe (or any inviting crevices with steel wool. I don't think I'd use it where pets could get at it though, without covering it over with duct tape or some such.

And then you have this wet squib

The full Barr Interview transcripts, where one can learn for the first time, just like me, that Huber was tasked with just the Hillary! investigation and is wrapping it up:

Tom R

This is going to be an awesome Friday for MAGA. From the Barr interview:

JAN CRAWFORD: Um, what's the status of Huber's investigation in Utah? I think the former Attorney General Sessions had asked him to look at this.

WILLIAM BARR: Right, so Huber had originally been asked to take a look at the FISA applications and the electronic surveillance but then he stood back and put that on hold while the Office of Inspector General was conducting its review, which would've been normal for the department. And he was essentially on standby in case Mr. Horowitz referred a matter to him to be handled criminally. So he has not been active on this front in recent months and so Durham is taking over that role. The other issues he's been working on relate to Hillary Clinton. Those are winding down and hopefully we'll be in a position to bring those to fruition.

Leftist former Italian PM Matteo Renzi announces that he "may" be stepping down as party leader. Speculation is that it could be related to the firings of Italian intelligence officials and what may be about to come out regarding Obama administration working with Italian intelligence on the coup.

“We have a complete breakdown of the basic needs of civilization in Los Angeles right now,” Pinsky told host Laura Ingraham. “We have the three prongs of airborne disease, tuberculosis is exploding, (and) rodent-borne. Good morning JOM! I'm enjoying the sights from the 19th floor here in Myrtle Beach. We've had a lovely time with our friends ~ perfect weather, great food, edifying talks, long beach walks, and restful sleep. I do miss our dogs and I hear they miss me (not eating much.)

It's funny how going away leads me to think about things I seldom ponder at home. I suppose it removes the daily distractions and allows my brain to go other places. I am journaling which is always a good thing to do but especially after a life-changing event.

Such good news about Desmond - I hope he continues to heal and improve!

My prediction:

We will see, in just a few years, an epidemic of people with psychoses and other mental illnesses related to increased pot use.

The bottom line is that today's marijuana isn't the pot of the '60's. It's been manipulated and hybridized to increase the effects of the buzz, and there are literally hundreds of variations and strains out there on the market.

Hardly any research has been done on the long-term effects of these strains and variations, and we really just don't know what the repercussions will be.

But the little research on marijuana use that HAS been done already indicates that it increases the risk of psychosis and mental illness on those who have used it.

I really do worry about the future of all the kids now using it as its been decriminalized and legalized, and promoted.

Very good to hear your vacation is proving therapeutic.

Enjoy yourself.

WILLIAM BARR: I'd rather, in many ways, I'd rather be back to my old life but I think that I love the Department of Justice, I love the FBI, I think it's important that we not, in this period of intense partisan feeling, destroy our institutions.

IMO as part of the MAGA agenda Trump has always intended to restore the DOJ and FBI to institutions that adhere to and promote Constitutional rule of law. IMO one of the reasons it has taken so long for all the Spygate investigations to come to fruition is because Sessions, Barr and Rosenstein had to clean house in the DOJ/FBI first.

Wonderful Marlene and momto.

I think it's important that we not, in this period of intense partisan feeling, destroy our institutions.

I'd rather he protect the Constitution, not the deep sate habitats imposed upon it.

Trump’s Mexico tariffs blasted as ‘borderline crazy’ | House already may have pro-impeachment majority

Thanks for reposting the transcript, Mel.

JAN CRAWFORD: So it's just as dangerous- So when we talk about foreign interference versus say a government abuse of power, which is more troubling?

WILLIAM BARR: Well they're both, they're both troubling.

WILLIAM BARR: In my mind, they are, sure. I mean, republics have fallen because of Praetorian Guard mentality where government officials get very arrogant, they identify the national interest with their own political preferences and they feel that anyone who has a different opinion, you know, is somehow an enemy of the state. And you know, there is that tendency that they know better and that, you know, they're there to protect as guardians of the people. That can easily translate into essentially supervening the will of the majority and getting your own way as a government official.

Captain Hate

The Mexico tariffs are the result of two do nothing Congresses not resolving the problem.

Good post. My son graduated from high school a few weeks back so ever since then he and his friends have been doing a lot of post-graduation celebrating. He is going to be playing college baseball starting in August so the other day I warned him about the NCAA doing drug testing on all athletes. He told me I didn't have to worry about him smoking pot. He said word is going around that some of the pot getting sold in the area is laced with fentanyl so the smart kids are staying away from it. No idea if that is true or not but if the rumor keeps my kids from smoking weed I am perfectly fine with that.

I am aware of a recent surgical procedure being cancelled as the drug screen on the known "social" drug user was positive for cocaine, which the user insists must have been spiked in the weed she smoked three days before.

Some conservatives don't like Trump's latest threat.

Speaking of stupid, the author apparently doesn't realize that the large majority of illegal immigrants part of the current border crisis are not Mexicans. They are from other Central American countries who enter Mexico thru their southern border. Mexico could take measure to prevent them from coming into Mexico if they wanted to but they don't.

not all tariffs are Smoot Hawley.

As war is the continuation of diplomacy, trade war is an intermediate between the two. Diplomacy with Mexico over allowing the migrants free (subsidized) travel to the US border has failed. Do these conservatives prefer we burn Mexico City again? That is the alternative.

Corporations that moved assembly plants to Mexico to take advantage of 1990s NAFTA provisions for tax purposes, might not work so well now....

GM & BMW may be the biggest losers on this one. 800K vehicles imported for GM in 2018 alone and BMW just finished a $2B Assembly plant.

JAN CRAWFORD: Um, what’s the status of Huber’s investigation in Utah? I think the former Attorney General Sessions had asked him to look at this.

WILLIAM BARR: Right, so Huber had originally been asked to take a look at the FISA applications and the electronic surveillance but then he stood back and put that on hold while the Office of Inspector General was conducting its review, which would’ve been normal for the department. And he was essentially on standby in case Mr. Horowitz referred a matter to him to be handled criminally. So he has not been active on this front in recent months and so Durham is taking over that role. The other issues he’s been working on relate to Hillary Clinton. Those are winding down and hopefully we’ll be in a position to bring those to fruition.

JAN CRAWFORD: So he won’t be involved in this really at all then?

JAN CRAWFORD: This is his role, it’s done?

JAN CRAWFORD: And now Durham is going to pick up–

WILLIAM BARR: Yes, right.

So Huber is going the way of the DoDo Mueller?

Barr keeps clearing house. Bravo!

Barr is giving assignments to people he trusts.

Huber's a bum who was appointed by Sessions. Here's what Chaffetz said about Sessions.

The bad part is that my plates were 2 bucks higher than lat year, even though the car is a year older, so I assume there was an uptick in the excise tax.

Tom R

I'm starting to get the impression that Trump and Mueller weren't working together

Really? You've been trying to promote the (IMO false) narrative that Mueller really wanted to be FBI Director and formally interviewed for the job for a long time.

IMO what's really going on is Team Trump as well as a few hand-selected conservative pundits are intentionally promoting a narrative that is targeted to two separate audiences: 1) Trump supporters who firmly believed all the "Mueller is on a witch hunt" tweets and 2) Progtard/SJWs who also firmly believed Mueller was on a "witch hunt" and was going to nail Trump. Both audiences wanted to believe that was true so its easy for a Master Persuader like Trump to convince them of that reality.

The current Team Trump narrative is impeachment, impeachment, impeachment non stop. Brad Parscale flat out told everyone why Team Trump is doing this. The impeachment narrative from both sides is making it much easier for Trump to win in 2020.

Nancy Pelosi and the other smart Democrats fully understand what Team Trump is doing and know that Team Trump has successfully triggered all the nutjob Progtard/SJWs. Team Trump has even gotten numerous Democrat POTUS candidates to join in on the nonsense. That is why Pelosi is doing whatever she can to counter the Team Trump narrative and to convince all the Progtard/SJW nutjobs on the left to STFU and stop talking about impeachment.

90% of the Drugs coming into the United States come through Mexico & our Southern Border. 80,000 people died last year, 1,000,000 people ruined. This has gone on for many years & nothing has been done about it. We have a 100 Billion Dollar Trade Deficit with Mexico. It’s time!

Tom R

A reminder that all the meaningful players in the Hillary email mess already have immunity deals in their pockets.

Legal question. Can those immunity deals be voided if the determination is made that a corrupt DOJ who knew a crime had been committed awarded the immunity deals explicitly as part of the coverup?

I would day they are deranged but that doesn't even capture the flavor:

It is no coincidence that this times with Barr's proactiveness and the departure of Mueller.

Team FBI takes one to the groin:

JAN CRAWFORD: You're working with the DNI, the head of CIA. I want to ask you about something- just declassification. But the president has tweeted and said publicly that some in the upper echelon, Comey, McCabe, etc., committed treason. I mean do you agree with that?

WILLIAM BARR: Well, I- as a lawyer I always interpret the word treason not colloquially but legally. And you know the very specific criteria for treason- so I don't think it's actually implicated in the situation that we have now. But I think what he--

JAN CRAWFORD: Legally.

JAN CRAWFORD: You don't think that they've committed treason?

WILLIAM BARR: Not as a legal matter, no.

JAN CRAWFORD: But you have concerns about how they conducted the investigation?

WILLIAM BARR: Yes but you know, when you're dealing with official government contact, intent is frequently a murky issue. I'm not suggesting that people did what they did necessarily because of conscious, nefarious motives. Sometimes people can convince themselves that what they're doing is in the higher interest, the better good. They don't realize that what they're doing is really antithetical to the democratic system that we have. They start viewing themselves as the guardians of the people that are more informed and insensitive than everybody else. They can- in their own mind, they can have those kinds of motives. And sometimes they can look at evidence and facts through a biased prism that they themselves don't realize.

Paints Comey as a hack. Maybe an unintentional hack, but a hack nonetheless.

Talking about banks, this was in my inbox this morning.

Just a guy's opinion.

Very few people know that Deutsche Bank in Germany is/was the largest bank in Europe. It was at one time close to being the largest bank in the world

Ironically, most people don’t care about them.

DB at its peak (before the 2008 melt-down) was trading at $145 per share.

Today is $6.92 which means it’s worth about $0.047 cents on the dollar.

Everyone in the industry knows DB is bankrupt. But no one wants to talk about “What if…” they totally collapse.

The predictions of their looming bankruptcy aren’t just hype. Especially when you consider the IMF (International Monetary Fund) called DB the “most systemically dangerous bank” in the world in 2016.

Okay, so why?

DBs derivative exposure is estimated to be anywhere from $45-50 TRILLION dollars.

(With zeroes it looks like: $50,000,000,000,000.)

All of the financial organizations in the world don’t have enough capital to cover that amount. (And they’re not the only bank with $40+ TRILLION exposure to derivatives…Cough! JPMorgan, Cough! Citigroup, Cough! Cough! Bank of America).

Suffice it to say if DB goes belly-up, it will start a contagion (dominoes falling) that will spread throughout the banking industry like wild-fire.

You must understand one thing about the financial industry, everything is Connected…EVERYTHING!

So, instead of Mad Maxine Waters issuing subpoenas to Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Citigroup, related to the President’s finances and/or Russian money laundering, maybe she should look closely at their balance sheets instead.

Who am I kidding?

The majority of Congress Critters are all part of the cover-up.

They don’t want the truth to be known that they’re in on the con (pun intended) about how the house of cards in the banking industry could collapse at any time.

When it does collapse, they’ll be the first to cry, “I’m Shocked I tell you…SHOCKED! Who could’ve foreseen this happening?”

I am searching for a delicious quote of Barr kidney punching Mueller. Rush played it and it it telling.

Followup to my 1:10

IMO Trump and Parscale know Trump is headed towards a landslide win in 2020. I think the reason Team Trump is promoting the impeachment narrative nonstop while Pelosi is trying to stop it are the downballot races. What Trump is really doing is getting all the Marxists/Communists/Progressives or whatever they want to call themselves to expose their true nature to American voters. Trump wants these nutjobs to keep ranting and raving about impeachment because in addition to him getting re-elected, it will help pro-MAGA conservatives win their races. Can you imagine how utterly defeated the hardcore leftwing movement in this country will be if Trump can turn a place like Illinois MAGA red?

Tom R.,

".... IMO what's really going on is Team Trump as well as a few hand-selected conservative pundits are intentionally promoting a narrative ..."

OK, I can see Team Trump trying to stoke the "impeachment" narrative because, as Donny Deutsch's recent MSNBC focus group testing proved, it turns voters off ... and may eventually nudge voters to re-elect Trump. Unless the focus group-approved new term of "Trump criminal investigations" work to the Dems' advantage. LIVs will be LIVs, you know.

But to believe this tactic is in play, and given Don Jr.'s recent tweets bashing Mueller, you have to believe 1 of 2 things:

1) Don Jr. isn't aware that Mueller is a white hat.

2) Don Jr. knows, but is keeping up the charade to keep pushing this narrative, and just lying in his tweets.

If it's #2, I just think Don Jr. is risking all of his future credibility to help his dad win in 2020.

Maybe he is, but I doubt it.
