Jim nj, Were I in your shoes, I hope that I would be as pissed and ready for action as you.
Hehehehehehehe. I'm pretty sure I would be, but for what it's worth, I find your actions honorable, and I found my adrenaline rise, as I heard your situation.
God bless you, your instincts are proper IMHO.

You could guarantee he stays in the private sector if you sign him up in Knights of Columbus.

Bach, Chaconne, Partita No. 2, Hilary Hahn:

I've been going through Busoni's piano transcriptions of this one these days, and it is good to hear the original one. It is very intense, and Hahn is wonderful.

Captain Hate

I wrote up King, Queen, Knave on the Sunday book thread. Without a doubt Nabokov tweaked it during the 1967 translation by his son, which makes it impossible to fully regard it as an accurate reflection of his youthful skills in his second full length novel. But it was a very enjoyable read. And now his next full length work, The Defense, apparently about chess, is waiting at the library.

Ol' Yeller is *really* impressed with Barr and with the woman interviewer.

GUS

Capn! You are completely right. But you almost always are. You are the TOXIC MALE. Donald Trump does things HIS OWN WAY. DJT, has made, lost, made lost and made again IN SPADES......FORTUNES.
In doing so, DJT, has trusted ONE PERSON, and in wins and LOSSES, has been RESPONSIBLE for HIMSELF.
The FUCKTARD MFM, JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT MEDIA, has ZERO CONCEPT of what it takes to ACHIEVE.
The FUKWAD LEFT, criticizes and laughs at DJT for his FINANCIAL FAILURES. DONALD TRUMP ENDURED THOSE FAILURES AND LOSSES. DONALD TRUMP RISKED HIS ENTIRE LIFES BLOOD, CAME BACK AND WON again and again and again.
Donald Trumps LIFES EXPERIENCE is so far beyond anyone these SIMPERING LIBTARD CLOWNS could ever imagine nor endure.

Barr did not "break with TRUMP". This is TYPICAL LIBERAL NONSENSE. Typical MFM or MORON miseducated CRAP.

TREASON has a LEGAL and SPECIFIC definition.

If the MFM wants to parse. WE ARE WINNING.

When Sarah Palin was trying to overcome the witlessness of Schmidt and Wallace and drag the retarded backstabbing oaf McCain over the finish line, she landed a haymaker on the glass jaw of the Bathhouse Rat by asking what he ever ran except his ignorant yap. She knew what it was like to make a payroll while creating something that people wanted to buy. That sent the Axe and his drones of imbeciles looking for a response and they ended up with "welp he ran his campaigns". Someone regurgitated that to me when I was walking one of my dogs, probably Maggie, and I responded "do you know how fucking stupid that sounds? Because you could say that about any candidate".

Trump is an existential threat to the Uniparty because he destroys the myth that only members of the political class can run the country. And do it very well.

Narciso79

The late stieg Larsson is to the left of the swedish political system, unlike Jan guillot of the commander Hamilton's films , hence sapo their deep state organ had a powerful shadow effect on society at the center of this spider wen Is zalachenko a fmr KGB defector who has created his own empire of crime, this is salander the hackers father who has been protected by sapo she works as researcher for millennium a very davante guard type publication and with blomquist who has been played by Daniel Craig and mads mikkelston

Narciso79

Indeed captain, and her campaign who victor Hanson acknowledges was the first sign of an insurgency by the people at least since the Reagan era, many of the lawfare tricks we see today employed against trump except for the surveillance were first debuted against her, with the uniparty in nearly uniform contempt.

Narciso79

They haven't set fire to his church, but most recently one 0erson who was high on pcp and God knows what else did set himself on fire.

Captain Hate

Exactly, narc. What happened to Palin by the Uniparty depressed me more than the Bathhouse Rat's elections. Likewise the marginalization of the Tea Party. I thought it was game over for that brand of conservatism. Then came Trump.

No one can convince me that Trump didn't witness that and saw a sterling opportunity.

Narciso79

They accuse her of adultery, notably that slithy tove mcguiness let any unbalanced nut say his piece, attacking not only her but even her son. Who gave up much fighting in the provinces of Diyala and Helmand.

Larry flynt speaking of denebiam slime devils hired some sleazy (redacted) who might as well be stormy daniels younger sister for his inkind contribution to obama.

Narciso79

Ditto, the thing is the tea party became a commodity like Brexit has been for the UK and many pretended to uphold the principles all ths while stuffing their pocket. Erickson who got his memory hole treatment today for poking at red queen was one.

JM Hanes

Love the Bach, DrJ., thanks!

Sleep well, all!

GUS

Capn, awesome memories. You are the best, because you fight and give far better than you GET.
When Johnny McShitstain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.... I believed at that moment, that Barack complete fraud pile o'shit Obama was .................WAIT!!...... SHITCANNED.
CAPN, my SHITCANNED MEME, was part of JOM that year. I WAS WRONG. Johnny McShitstain, pissed on himself, and certainly found MISERY, in picking a VP candidate, that was far far more qualified, honorable and POPULAR, than JOHNNY McSHITSTAIN.....himself.
The GOPe POOOOOOOOOOOOSY CAT, shitcanned himself.
John McCain's focus Had then become, not being UPSTAGED by someone, A WOMAN, who ACTUALLY CARRIED and BELIEVE in CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES.

Narciso79

PIN,

Nancy is a force of nature when it comes to loyalty.

We talked for an hour about how to respond to this and we're in agreement That the solution to this is in Debra's hands.

Confounding issues: He's a live-in boyfriend and spends a significant amount of money supporting the household. He's gone through anger management before and may be willing to go again. He's recently unemployed and that may be effecting his self-esteem. He's the father of Debra's 10 year old son.

Hashing through that and more indicates that interfering would be counter-productive.

Captain Hate

Pelosi even used the phrase "kids in the hood". Str8 outta Compton, Nanzi.

Narciso79

Welk he was much too talented for Kimmel, Stephen king has lost whatever marbles he ever had, most recently saying Chernobyl reminded him of trump, lapidus is another gritty Norse author, showing the dark underbelly of that country, where the real scut work is done by arabs Russian Serbs and the stray latino.

Neither plane is cheap to produce.

MJW

Though I don't always (or often) agree with Tom R., I firmly believe Weissmann, probably along with Michael Dreeben, wrote part II of the Mueller report. Not only was Weissmann first mate on Team Mueller, but he and Dreeben have made careers of stretching obstruction statutes, most notably (and unsuccessfully) in the Arthur Anderson case.

I have little doubt they were the "lawyer or lawyers" Barr had in mind when discussing his disagreement with the Mueller report's legal analysis.

MJW

But that doesn't in any way absolve Mueller of responsibility. He was in charge. Presumably he read the analysis. If he disagreed with it, it shouldn't be in the report.

Pinandpuller

Finally a movie worthy of spending money on Current Year:

The Professor and the Madman https://youtu.be/g6Pn-6MOXPs.

jim nj

MJW,

It seems like Mueller was co-opted by his staff with a "novel" interpretation of the obstruction laws.

If so, most of the investigation time wasn't spent on the collusion issue, but in trap-setting for Trump on obstruction.

And in that light, much of what Trump was subjected to looks like efforts into goading him into a mistake.

jim nj

The more times it's mentioned that failure of Mueller and staff to highlight grand jury testimony looks more evil and deliberate. That their summaries weren't used seems to have pissed off the staff.

That leaked letter and Mueller's press conference seem to reinforce that narrative. Mueller and crew didn't get weeks to "spin" the report.

jim nj---those don't confound me--that's how she is rationalizing tolerating behavior that should never be tolerated. I do not doubt that being unemployed may well be his trigger--but I didn't let my kids hit other people when they were upset EVER--like from age two on--and they didn't--so this is NOT excusable.

(I do appreciate the reality of the economics here. When she kicks him out, start a GoFundMe. I'll contribute.)

The fact that he has been to anger management in the past lets you know this is a well established pattern with the two of them, because the ten year old son lets you know they've been together for eleven years.

This is NOT something your or Nancy's will, commitment or best of intentions is going to change.

It seems like Mueller was co-opted by his staff with a "novel" interpretation of the obstruction laws.

I think Mueller has been co-opted in more ways than just the obstruction interpretation.

His behavior on stage was that of a guy trapped between a public image and a private reality.

Andy McCarthy comes to this startling conclusion, one which we all here came to about 30 minutes after he was appointed.

Captain Hate

From AB's 8:08 (I see his autocucumber has mine's irritating obsession with putting As in front of names)

At each step, Boot gains life lessons, which he thinks other conservatives have failed to master. He has learned to “think for [him]self,” he confesses of his recent turn of mind, “and that is not an easy thing to do.” His readers of years past should demand a refund, since they presumably turned to him for independent thought and judgment. He has the temerity to add: “I only wish more conservatives were willing to engage in similar self-examination.” He learns the value of reporting trips and the value of reading books and “long briefing papers.” He learns to “like people very different from myself, even if there were far more of ‘them’ than there were of people like me.” Fair enough, but then he adds: “I wish more Trump supporters, anxious about the changing demographics of America, would have a similar epiphany.” His lesson in empathy apparently doesn’t extend to Trump voters.

LOL, get fucked Boot. There's my epiphany, Junior.

Another Bob

The most polite thing that can be said of Andy McCarthy is he’s a rube that time has passed by.

rse

AB-

The problem there is it misrepresents david french's own writings. He defines Conservatism through communitarian visions so exactly how is he a proponent of individual autonomy? Yes, I have read him and highlighted those very pages. He was also a luncheon speaker here this week in atlanta via a public policy 'market oriented' think tank that will not take questions from the audience anymore on an ed forum if I am at a table.

Advice would be helpful-spent yesterday afternoon with my very sick, confused mom who seems to be having panic attacks at the reality of dealing with my declining dad. She keeps refusing to put him in memory care even though it is a miracle he can still walk. We ended up with paramedics called and an ambulance ride to hospital. They released her at 1:15 am after tests and two iv's of fluid. Basically serial vomiting is the form the stress reaction is taking.

"No one will look after him like I have" was what she was saying in er. Yes, but because his decline is not personal, they will not have a panic attack when he doesn't know what a banana is in grocery store and returns once with sweet potato and the 2nd time with something else colorful.

"MY house is better than his".

(Of course she lives in a castle, but who cares?)

As she lost her mobility in addition to her memory, and he was becoming incapacitated due to congestive heart failure, he finally agreed to a change.

They don't take easily to such changes. And they are very expensive. Start looking now--those that are best are non-profits often under religious auspices but open to all . You might also contact a social worker to see if your father is eligible under Medicare for hospice care of some sort to give your mother some relief. In some places there is something called "transitional hospice" where they will send carers and therapists for a few hours a wek to give others a break.

Bottom line here: Rats--and mice!--are RODENT DISEASE VECTORS.
For diseases that KILL people!

(Unlike rats, mice are cute as the dickens! One fell out of our ceiling in the card room that has remained opened after a water leak last year while I was reading one night last summer--a baby.
