I always thought McConnell was quite clear that his refusal to give Garland a hearing was based on a principle of non-cooperation with the other party in an election year. A principle articulated by Joe Biden in 1992.
I need to fact-check my memory.
No problem. Mutt Rombley & friends will stop any possibility of a conservative SC justice in 2020.

First.
Mueller to say probably pretty much nothing, then run from the cameras, at 11 am.
No way does a SCOTUS nominee get voted on with less than a year to an election, at least not in this political climate (which looks like it will last forever).

No way a SCOTUS nominee gets through now. The House will launch the impeachment process to give GOPe time and cover to abandon their President, then McConnell can huff and puff all he wants and it will mean nothing.
The tell will be, should a vacancy come up, will Trump propose a "real" conservative or just another "best we can get right now" moderate (who will not get confirmed anyway). Or will he go hard conservative and throw the choice to the electorate.
Too hard for me to predict.

As much as the Swamp needs to be drained and we need the rule of law enforced and the Constitution back and destroying the progs, I believe history [at least the sane ones] will judge Trump's reveal of China as simply an aggressive, evil, communist hegemon intent, like every other communist hegemon, on world domination and our implacable enemy and the implacable enemy of every other nation as his most important achievement.
Suddenly that belt and road initiative looks more like a noose and handcuffs to the stupid countries who thought China was giving them a hand-up rather than establishing a company store.
Suddenly the world sees people talking about the need to disestablish China's grip on rare earths to be forward, perceptive thinkers not conspiracy theorists.
The whole world was a kettle full of frogs on a slow boil, lulled to sleep by a bunch of cheap junk made by commies who traded in their Mao suits for Brooks Brothers but who are still engaged in a long march.
Barry's fabled "pivot" was to lick their boots.
Thank you Trump for sticking your boot up their ass far sooner than they were ready for.

The "guy" Iggy is talking about it TomR. Apparently he is being Alinskyed. Here I thought he was losing most debates based on his skill set.
In your mind you win every debate. When you are getting your ass handed to you like Iggy has been doing lately you will resort to some pretty nasty tactics. First you said "Fuck you" to him and now you call him a liar in the previous thread. Of all the posters on this board, I have always considered Iggy the one who best displays Christian values. You calling him a liar confirms my perception of your own character. The irony is you will do anything to convince yourself you have won a debate on this board, to include violating your integrity and intentionally misquoting, or mischaracterizing what I or your opponent have written just to try and put us on the defensive.
In regards to you resorting to Alinsky tactics, my guess is Iggy is referring to #5 "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon". That is your standard tactic that you use against me, DawsonFields, etc. Instead of actually debating the point by offering up a counterpoint, you just ridicule it even if its a valid point.
It's also possible Iggy was referring to Rule #13 "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." I get the sense your self esteem requires you to have an opponent here at JOM you can attack, attack and attack over and over again so that you can prove (to yourself) you are smarter than them. Apparently that was DoT in the past and now me. My "skill set" is good enough to counter anything you throw my way so I'm content with it.

https://donsurber.blogspot.com/2019/05/shes-10-joe.html
The press ... finds itself once again in a position where if it reports honestly about the Democrat front-runner will increase Donald Trump's odds of winning.
Not included in Politico's report was the full quote from Biden to the 10-year-old, "If you give me your address I'm going to write you a longer answer and tell you the exact things I would do, OK? OK? Promise? I bet you're as bright as you are good looking."

The difference between not allowing Obama's vote on SC and Trump, is that Obama was in his 2nd term, no chance he was coming back. Of course the GOP is probably too scared to point that out.

"The difference between not allowing Obama's vote on SC and Trump, is that Obama was in his 2nd term, no chance he was coming back."
Yeah, still pretty brave.
And that guy, Merrick Garland, was about as centrist as the Dems would ever nominate.
AND, it's not like the GOPe cares to defend America.
PLUS Hillary was sure to win, which would undo the whole maneuver.
All in all, that was a puzzling move for Mitch to make. Very little upside, very risky. I wonder if Hillary secretly put him up to it ("After I'm elected I want to nominate a woman. Scratch my back here and you'll be rewarded. Cross me and you're dead.")

Ext, re. Gab vs Parler, the primary difference is Parscale’s perhaps trial balloon to move Trump there.
Gab also has some of the IMO more distasteful types that Twitter blew out, and has already become a prog target. Maybe Parler gets the same treatment if it’s successful.
If the whole thing is simply a shot across Twitter’s bow to try and get @Jack to clean up his act (or punish @Jack for his games re. Trump) I’m probably OK with that too.
