I always thought McConnell was quite clear that his refusal to give Garland a hearing was based on a principle of non-cooperation with the other party in an election year. A principle articulated by Joe Biden in 1992.
I need to fact-check my memory.
Re. trigglypuff’s signage (I got nuthin’ for trigglypuff herself)...
The weird part is women have never had more “choice” that way. From abstaining from PIV sex through morning-after pills, condoms (male and female), birth control pills, Norplant, diaphragms, IUDs. Are there more these days I haven’t mentioned? (Not a subject I’ve had to worry about for a long time.)
The only “choice” on the table to be eliminated is the one fraught with moral hazard. But you’d think it was the end of the world.

Rich progressives are making cities unlivable.
The voters could do something about it, if the majority of them weren't groupthink prisoners or stupid.
Or both.

I just heard on the radio that this stupid Red Line express bus service with a dedicated center lane and fancy boarding stations every so often is being paid for by a $75 million grant THAT HAS NOT YET BEEN AWARDED.
So that is why the roads are in such bad shape. The money which normally would go to chuckhole/pothole repair is going for this stupid bus plan.
Now I am all for public transportation if it makes sense, but the more I read about this system, the madder I get. It's not going to be free, as a bunch of my daughter's friends originally thought. It will take up the center lane of the commuter street nearest us, will prohibit left turns across the center lane (instead installing U-TURN lanes at certain intersections, and generally seems to be a source of confusion and accidents until people get used to it.
Furthermore, the mayor is now asking the outlying counties to chip in for street repair!!

Buckeye,
Why yes they were! How did you know?
This stupid Red Line goes from the University of Indianapolis, a small college about 10 blocks south of me, up through downtown and then north to the CHldren's Museum at 30th and Meridian and then northeast to the club district in Broad Ripple.
Buses are supposed to run every 15 minutes with only stops at these fancy stations. I think the tickets are around 3 bucks, but I am not sure about that.
The construction of the station south of us has been going on now for almost 2 years. I am not exaggerating. All it is is a concrete platform with a roof over it and some lighting and a place where they will install a ticket machine.
I am going to be as aggravated as Janet was about the DC street car mess before this is all over with.

So now it's time again to assess Rosenstein.
He's solely responsible for Mueller, including his the stacking of the SC team with partisan and conflicted Democrats. He knew Mueller himself had a conflict, owing to his long-time association with Comey and previous stint as FBI Director, yet appointed him anyway. He allowed Mueller to bypass DoJ regulations about not dirtying up an unindicted person, which Rosenstein himself vowed were sacred and would be adhered to only weeks before. And then he rode off into the sunset just as the stink bomb he originated and nurtured began emanating fumes.
In retrospect, my gut was wrong about Rosenstein.

I think someone mentioned this before - The IG may be neutral but the 2IC is a ratbag. Who do you think handles the day to day operations?
The 2IC probably has a lot of input into the executive summary - arguably the most important part of the report. Why? because the executive summary is the part the media and politicians read first. It shapes opinion - even if it doesn't reflect the larger report. By the time the full report is digested it is to late to change the narrative.

The DoJ statement would be unnecessary if Mueller's presser was clear. That they had to write shows what a mess Mueller was making of things.
Barr has now put Mueller on the defensive if he wants to continue to say stupid things. This is no different than Trump sometimes saying "they found no obstruction" despite that not being what the report actually said.
The DoJ statement simply says that Barr is correct.

Barr created the situation for that whole Mueller fiasco by being out of town yesterday; then all of a sudden Mueller cobbles together a quick presser where he reads something awkwardly that he obviously didn't write and then Barr's underlings put out some lying statement about there being no disagreements when there obviously were.
Barr needs to stop going to these fucking conferences, just like Jeff Sessions did, until the Swamp is drained. That is Job 1 for him now and going forward.

If I'm being told to "Find the Red Queen!" by Mueller, and then I'm told by Barr's Team "Yes, find it!", and in no way that statement was issued without Barr's specific approval, then I'm going to question what game I'm actually watching.

Mueller didn't contradict Barr although he added more flavor to his alternative story.
Barr said that A happened. Mueller didn't that that A didn't happen. That equals "no conflict."
The clever part of the DoJ statement is their use of "or." " the office concluded that it wouldn't not reach a determination -- one way or another -- "
Barr version is not in conflict because A wasn't disputed despite Mueller dangling B.
