I thought Mueller sounded incredibly nervous, kinda like a guy with a gun being held to his head, for a person with his pedigree, but as I had never heard him speak before, I did not trust my assessment. Body language lady confirmed that I was not hallucinating..

These people are in very deep shit, and they know it.
As noted, Muller is part of it, being head of FBI til 2013, if this all started in 20212.

POTUS has to get to the bottom of this to protect his children and grands.

Good evening. Just checking in before going to bed. Yes,the surgery went well and today's news is that Desmond is up and walking. My sister-in-law says he's in popsicle heaven.

I have tremendous respect for my elders. That said, Big Bad Bob sounded like a doddering, near-senescent geezer today. Sad. Anyone thinking he was some mega-dimensional bro of PDJT helping drain the swamp should seek professional help.

Thanks Marlene, great news!

But my car got dinged up, on the way back, am I running over black cats this week?

Narciso79

Great news marlene.

No I never bought that story, I like intrigue and thrillers but they have to be plausible

henry

Narciso, running over black cats? Only when they are under the ladder you drive beneath while stepping on a sidewalk crack.

Marlene,

Thanks for the update! Prayers continue.

They're inconveniences but they pile up.

Beasts of England

I just watched the Mueller video again. I was mainly paying attention to his arguments when presented live, but now his mannerisms. He rarely looked up from his own notes, his body and voice were uncertain, and there was no confidence in his delivery. Total deception.

Yongsin (Nancy) was home when I woke up this afternoon. As I had thought, she had gone back to Debra's last night a second time as Debra was still scared and hurting.

Debra has a black eye, swollen lips and bruised ribs. Nancy tried to talk her into going to the hospital, but she refused. Debra won't file a police complaint, so Nancy thought if she could get Debra to the hospital that the hospital would file a complaint. Didn't work.

I reminded her she should have left me a note or texted me to let me know where she was.

Tom R

JMH @ 10:27

Why would a Trump supporter use the term “Decepticon” to describe anyone on the Trump team? That term has a negative connotation as a bad guy.

Narciso79

Is this the first week this has happened jimnj?

Jim nj,
I don’t know if you saw Anonamom’s response last night, but I agree with her completely. Do not get stuck in the middle. Debra will only get the help she needs if/when she decides to get it. Debra and Nancy will recognize the cycle of violence. https://www.whiteribbon.org.au/understand-domestic-violence/what-is-domestic-violence/cycle-of-violence/

jim nj

Narciso and gentlejim,

This the 3rd or 4th time, to my knowledge, that Debra has been subjected to domestic abuse.

She needs help in understanding that there is nothing wrong with her. It's him.

I'm not in the middle of this unless the guy touches Nancy. I've warned Nancy not to get in the middle of this either. Like I said though, she's an earth mother and I think last night she morphed into angry Mama Bear. She may have wanted a confrontation with the guy because she brought a can of Mace with her.

She is still angry and rather flustered that she can't do more.

Narciso79

Maybe it was the high noise to signal ratio today, but my first pass on reading Mueller's transcript was no biggie. Just Mueller being Mueller.

It wasn't until later when people started citing actual passages that I became more concerned.

I looked at the video and then the body language video and became very concerned.

I don't understand the impetus for the press conference, or for that matter why Mueller spent most of his presentation reading a prepared statement he seemed to stumble over.

He came across as uncomfortable and lacking in confidence. While he was reading he wasn't looking at the cameras. Was that intentional? That he was hiding something?

And the fingers to the nose 4 times. Was that significant? Was that what poker players call a "tell?'

So he says some truly amazing things that don't seem to be in the report, mis-states a position on inditing and generally ignores guidelines of the DOJ for a prosecution attorney.

I don't think this did any good for anybody pro or con, other than making Mueller look oily.

Is it me, or did he just put a larger target on his back?

jim nj

I mean if Mueller had spent most of his time looking at the cameras would we have noticed Morse Code eye-blinking?

Mueller said the report should speak for itself but then spoke,or actually read, and said nothing new. It was halting and stumbling which demonstrated why he doesn’t want to testify. But still the same conclusion: no case. Mueller proved he was as biased as his staff.

https://hotair.com/archives/2019/05/29/dershowitz-mueller-just-put-elbow-scale-favor-impeachment/

Not mentioned by Dershowitz, but here's the thing I don't understand - Mueller says he can't indict the president, but he left the question of obstruction open. No proof that Trump had obstructed, but a way novel theory he might have. So why didn't Mueller make a "finding of fact" and pass it on without triggering an indictment?

He's trying to insinuate obstruction without proof.

I think he torpedoed what little was left of his reputation today.

"The EPA was founded during the Nixon administration to solve some pretty obvious and definable problems. Rivers were poison and catching on fire. People in some places could not see their hand in front of their face the smog was so thick. The USEPA, and its related state and local agencies, have done a marvelous job of solving those issues. But rather than sit back and enjoy the well-earned credit, they have advanced to poorly defined and for all practical purposes unsolvable, dilemmas. A purity of purpose is claimed as motivation for this transition from the solvable to the unsolvable, yet one is almost forced to suspect a straightforward power grab."

"The debate is about regulatory cost projection and risk assessment. Bet you are bored already. Some contend the changes proposed will kill thousands while others say it is just common sense. Meanwhile, China just does not care. There is a real dilemma here."

The EPA has done a great job cleaning up our air and water. Now it's being asked to regulate things with greater uncertainties. The science is less strong. Benefits in lives saved vs. jobs lost is increasingly nebulous.

And in an irony of ironies the libs who are pushing the argument that "all lives matter," whatever the cost to society, are mostly the same people who are pro-abortion.

jim nj

I mean the people who wonder about the validity of the EPA "science" and the costs that would be imposed on our society to maybe save one shortened live are evil, because all lives matter.

Do the Venn diagram in your head. How many advocates of abortions fit in the above group that wants to be absolutely safe from everything?

So we want the EPA to ban substances that might, might harm a fetus, that's going to be aborted anyway.

Feeling cynical tonight.

"Diesel demand in China fell 14% and 19% in March and April, respectively, reaching levels not seen in a decade, according to data compiled by Wells Fargo. Monthly demand has also been falling every month since December 2017, the data shows."

That's a little like the Dow Transportation Index. When shipments fall that's a precursor to a contracting economy. The DTI is often used to forecast the overall economy. A weak and falling DTI indicates a weakening economy.

Since most people don't trust economic data coming out of China, those fallinf diesel fuel numbers suggest a recession.

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/china-gears-weaponize-rare-earths-002041977.html

China threatening to hoard rare earth deposits and not export them to the US. Despite the name "rare earth" elements they aren't really rare. China just happens to be the low-cost producer of many of them.

This is actually an old story from a year or two before:

https://bigthink.com/technology-innovation/japan-rare-earth

"Now, however, Japan has found a massive deposit of rare earths sufficient to supply the world's needs for hundred of years."

They are off-shore, but easily accessible.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_Pass_rare_earth_mine

This California rare earth mine wasn't profitable because it wasn't the lowest cost producer. It went bankrupt and has changed hands. Some think the Chinese deliberately targeted this mine.

It can re-open rather quickly if it can raise the new investment it needs. It will never be the lowest cost producer, but it may become the most reliable source.

So bring on the Chinese rare earth export ban. They will lose the market to more reliable sources. Firms will pay a premium for reliability and China will lose another important industry.
