I could have predicted this a month ago. I guess Bloomberg has to pay fancy experts for the information.

Another Bob

I used to wear pink dress shirts. (Back in the day when I had to dress for work.)

Extraneus

So anyway, all this gender and queer stuff is really about sexual proclivities: men wishing they were women having sex with other men, for example. Vaguely celebrating gender "fluidity" is just a euphemism for the actual desires we should actually be celebrating.

Extraneus

I still have a pink dress shirt, Bob, but as I'm retired now I haven't worn it in over 6 months. I think I'll throw it out. :-)

Another Bob

For some reason, I pulled chicks with that pink shirt. Pained me to dispose of it.

;)

Pink shirt? Magic in DC in the 80s. ;)

Trump Responds To Rape Accuser: ‘People Should Pay Dearly For Such False Accusations’

“Regarding the ‘story’ by E. Jean Carroll, claiming she once encountered me at Bergdorf Goodman 23 years ago. I’ve never met this person in my life. She is trying to sell a new book — that should indicate her motivation. It should be sold in the fiction section,” the president wrote.

...

“Shame on those who make up false stories of assault to try to get publicity for themselves, or sell a book, or carry out a political agenda—like Julie Swetnick who falsely accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh,” Trump asserted. “It’s just as bad for people to believe it, particularly when there is zero evidence. Worse still for a dying publication to try to prop itself up by peddling fake news—it’s an epidemic.”

The president’s statement continued:

“Ms. Carroll & New York Magazine: No pictures? No surveillance? No video? No reports? No sales attendants around?? I would like to thank Bergdorf Goodman for confirming they have no video footage of any such incident, because it never happened.

False accusations diminish the severity of real assault. All should condemn false accusations and any actual assault in the strongest possible terms.

If anyone has information that the Democratic Party is working with Ms. Carroll or New York Magazine, please notify us as soon as possible. The world should know what’s really going on. It is a disgrace and people should pay dearly for such false accusations.”

Funny thing, i once stopped by my brother’s place in Baltimore on a run between my Philly condo and my DC apartment. My then 6 month old niece puked on my shoulder (I had the pink shirt on, grey three piece suit). A quick wash, dry and hand ironing later I was ready to go. After cleanup, put the suit jacket on and went to a meeting at Interior in DC. 80s were a crazy time. That niece is getting married in September.

Thank you Joe Biden for triggering the Democratic racists, led by the hair-brained Cory Booker, so that we can watch the witch-hunters do their stuff with their own, instead of Trump.

Henry:
Wonderful news about the Wisconsin Supreme Court Decision.
Politics in your state are fascinating.
Never a dull moment.
Congrats to clarice’s Grand-daughter on her team’s wonderful achievement in volleyball!
Way to go girls!
I bet it is a joy to have your grand-daughter visiting.
OL:
Hope the wedding plans are proceeding nicely.
With your new trim look , you will look great in your tuxedo.
The next challenge is walking your little girl down the aisle.
Please update us if you can with more details.
I am so happy for you and your family.
Well wrt the political scene,
OL, JIB, Henry, Jimmyk and Thomas Collins and of course Clarice have been right on the mark in assessing the overall progress on holding people accountable for their wrongdoing.
Another Friday and still no one charged or indicted.

This has video showing you how sparse the planted crops are.

henry

Miss M, at least they got planted. Around here I see last falls wheat, and mud. Plus we get rain every night. My field did not get planted wheat last fall — too wet. Now corn? No field around here will be dry by the fourth, let alone knee high. Too late for corn. Too late for beans. Too wet to put a tractor on. I assume I get the normal lease payment under crop insurance, but the farmer takes one in the shorts.

The Infamous Ignatz

And an interesting story in of all places slate;
We Tried to Publish a Replication of a Science Paper in Science. The Journal Refused.

Yes they will. Corn oil, corn flour is i everything from pancake mix to cereals. Corn and soy beans are needed for feeding beef, pork, and chicken, so meat will be higher, too.

henry

Pin, that’s a lot of firewood. My first saw was a poulan. My saw that run today are Stihls. (Stijl was my main reference customer in the 80s). Saw, trimmer, pole saw, etc. the Poulan gets its cuts too. Maintenance is your friend.

jimmyk

Corn oil, corn flour is i everything from pancake mix to cereals.

Won't all the people going keto tank corn prices?

Rocco

It's not pink, it's salmon!

jimmyk

Why the Greenwald story exploded

narc, my impression is that Greenwald is trying to resuscitate Lula by going after Bolsonaro's justice minister, is that right? Greenwald doesn't seem like a guy who would protect the swamp, but is that what your babalu link is suggesting? Or that he's duped? Or maybe that maybe both sides are corrupt (no big surprise there), though Bolsonaro himself doesn't seem to be implicated.

Narciso79

Well hes a leftist after all, maybe in the dos passos vein before 1936, his significant other is in the Brazilian Congress, he hates Israel with a passion, he certainly had no qualms about what was done to heshmat.

Narciso79

Now what was interesting was that bolsanaro partisan figured out how this info was exfiltrated

henry

Jimmyk, re keto and corn shortage. Most meat is corn / soy fed. That is true of beer, pork, chicken. So unless you have farmyard chicken (ie Not grain fed), or grass pasture beef, unless you have guns & ammo, not meat for you. Similar issues with wild caught (radioactive pacific salmon) vs farmed (no omega 3) fish. Keto May depend on corn and soy to a degree that is not good:

henry

And a musical interlude

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TOSZwEwl_1Q

jimmyk

yes, henry, though the true believers want grass-fed beef. And I have no idea how much corn goes into corn syrup, corn oil, etc. that is anathema to keto/paleo enthusiasts. I won't even get into ethanol.

The Infamous Ignatz

--That is true of beer, pork, chicken.--

Hey, you told me beer was made out of barley.

henry

Oh, beer is safe. Everything else is risky.

The Infamous Ignatz

Ah, jeez, a sixty foot pecan tree and nothing but a Poo-lan to cut it with?
Hope your ax is sharp.

henry

Yep. Hey a Stihl for that job. Plus background tunes

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=32ynHIiYuKQ

Rocco

I always thought John Barleycorn would be a great name for a beer, and I'm sure there are a few out there. It just seems so appropriate. The name refers to a god not a person. A god representing a field of barleycorn, to be harvested, from which beer is brewed.

Good nite all

You ever handle a froe Mr Iggy? I didn’t go home because the power was out anyway. I need to go to Northern Tiools for one of those generator control boxes you hook to your main breaker panel. And a 220 adapter specific to my generator. And a feeler gauge to see how close that tree came to taking off my truck’s bumper.

henry

Pin, damn! That is a close call!

Pinandpuller

No tornado mr narciso. However, my little sedan got hit by wind sheer right after Old Hickory Blvd and I nearly changed lanes. Lots of trees down around Nashville. I saw one car surrounded on three sides by half a tree but no damage unless the side mirror took a hit.

Narciso79

That's still pretty serious, though.

The Infamous Ignatz

--You ever handle a froe Mr Iggy?--

Tried conk a couple of times but it stayed kinky.

Oh wait, you mean one of them shingle axes. My pop had one but I never used it, though the native sugar pines make superb shingles.
I've used an adze, a peavey and a McCloud, but my favorite is a draw knife. Very satisfying peeling nice shavings off with a sharp one.

Is an adze what that railsplitter Lincoln used? I do have some draw knives. Time for some mortise and tenon practice.

The Infamous Ignatz

An adze is usually used for shaping wood. Used on log homes and dugout canoes a lot.
Generally wedges and hammers are used for making rails.
Or slaves.

I can wing it, it was a sound track for an Alain delon film?
