The NY Times notes the Democratic dance around Medicare for All and the possible elimination of private insurance.
But its what the Democrats all agree on that will really get them - the idea of free health care for all undocumented future Democrats when we have an obvious shortage of health providers for low-income US citizens? More crazy faster!
On the topic of immigration, Andrew Sullivan is excellent (either Sully is back from his Palin-fueled Alaskan wilderness journey or I have joined him.) Fareed Zakaria, a reliable lefty, is also concerned about his party's position.
BONUS QUERY - BLUE STATE BAILOUT?: Would the abolition of private insurance wipe out the obligation of various states on their health plans to public sector retirees and/or their current employees? One might think so but I have not checked the details of the Medicare For All plans or the state obligations to current and retired employees. That said, Connecticut, Illinois and New Jersey are on everyone's list of states Too Big To Fail, Too Blue To Succeed.
Of course, both public and private sector unions negotiated health benefits later in lieu of (unaffordable) pay increases immediately, so union support my be soft.
DO LET ME ADD: Just to pick Connecticut at random, state budget projections show health care expenses (current and retirees) of $1.5B in 2020, $1.6B in 2021.
Projected deficits are $1.9B in 2020 and $2.5B in 2021. Eliminating the health care expense is not a complete solution but every big bit helps.
I’m sorry, Rocco, but I think I can speak for all that we’re still pretty alarmed at the condition of your deck. 😉
On a happier note, just got to Sun Valley this afternoon. The good news from a very wet spring? It’s impossibly green everywhere. The bad? All this grass will be quite dead within two months and create a shit-ton of fire fuel.

I’ve been exclusively dealing with Hindi women over the phone for the past few months. You might say they religiously stick to their scripts.
Also I’ve heard that the Hindus are actually monotheistic. The 33 million entities they worship are actually ethnicities of one god. They would say that though, wouldn’t they?

1. A New Jersey high school gave him his own graduation ceremony.
2. He is a Dominican who decided to enlist in the Marines.

Captain Hate,
When I was a kid my mother bought several large books from Life Magazine. One was "The World We Live In" which had great pictures of dinosaurs, Pleistocene mammals, jungle fold-outs, etc.
Another was "The World's Great Religions." I remember it because it had a fold out of the Hindu pantheon with descriptions. As a 6th grader it fascinated me. No doubt in my mind they are polytheistic.
Now one could argue that this is because that somewhere long ago they decided to assign a separate god to each individual cause, rather than one all-powerful god, but that's how it ended up.

In Hindu mythology, the turtle, known as “Akupara” or “Chukwa” is believed to carry on its shell, four elephants that have the world on their backs. Further, a popular myth recalls how Lord Vishnu, God of protection and good deed, incarnated as the turtle “Kurma”, to assist the Devas in acquiring the nectar of eternity.
