What is it called when there is temporary diabetes during pregnancy which goes away after the baby is born? The writer mentions it but doesn't follow up.
Catching up is hard when you keep going back and forth looking for a link someone posted. That would be the latest Yaakov Aplebaum link. I thought it was this thread but could have been the previous one.

Reading Khan's OpEd in El-Gaurdian, he like every journalist over here misrepresents what Trump said after Charlottesville. Once you tell a lie and it is repeated every time the subject is brought up it becomes the truth.
Yes among other things hes 14 years younger, interesting his debut was in a small film about the diana oughton story called katherine with sissy spacey
That's a lot of "Must have" in that one article from Babbin. I appreciate his speculation, but speculation it remains. And no mention of Rome's role, which, by the way, has me wondering all over again about those notes supplied way back in 2002-03, but that's for another day.
When you are pregnant you have to drink this rather foul orange drink that gives doctors info on who is at risk for developing gestational diabetes so they can follow closely. Because I liked to cook my diet was always healthy enough that I didn't even need prenatal vitamins.
I did however always lose at least 5 pounds in the first trimester because of having to give up wine with dinner and those lovely margaritas at the excellent mexican restaurant near our old house. The doctor would ask why I was losing weight and I always admitted it was the removal of alcohol and she would grin and thank me for being honest about it.
Quest Diagnostics says a data breach may have involved the collection of 11.9 million patients’ financial information, such as credit-card numbers and bank-account information
I would be a lot more sanguine about Trump's reelection chances if he were undertaking these policies at the beginning of a business cycle rather than the end of one.
A poorly timed recession was fairly probable anyway and a trade war might make one more likely.
If it does, not only will he have a hard time winning a second term, but the ideas behind him and the "populist" movement he's leading will take a severe shot as well.
A high risk environment, but a risk worth taking since the country is dying anyway unless something drastic is done.
Jeez, I had almost every one of these and somehow survived and I had a lot of fun while surviving. Turning us into a nation of wusses. You should just rename this the "You'll Shoot You Eye Out, Kid" channel.
My dad had a furnace repair company and sheet metal shop, which our house was behind until we moved to the farm.
We used to take scrap gutters and downspouts and make long "obstacle courses" for rolling tennis balls, using some sawhorses to elevate one side. We also had a tree house we made out of a shipping skid and some scrap wood.
When we moved to the farm we used to walk on the barn rafters.
Amazingly, no one ever got a broken bone. The stitches I got were from cracking my head on a corner in the house when I slipped running after one of my sisters (7 stitches) and on the heel of my left hand when falling while holding a toy metal dishpan.
The business cycle has been transformed since the corporate tax and regulatory cuts. The perception shared by The Street has more to do with the quality of their information sources (what we kvetch about every day here) and their personal circumstances being bombarded by negative news.
Removing excess credit as fuel to markets and a return to “America’s Business is Business.” Is slowly emerging from decades of thumb on the scale governing. If I were to point out one thing as the best indicator of “This time it’s different, it’s the resurgence of the Great Lakes fleet for the first time in nearly 40 years, so much so that mothballed ships are being brought back to service instead of postponed trips to the breakers, and a new order being placed for the first time in 35 years.
If you thought the 25 year economic wave after Reagan’s cuts were great, this is going to be even bigger, once it gets rolling.
I didn’t think the Fonz could be that old. His mother lived in the penthouse apartment of the building I first moved into in Manhattan. I’d see him now and then. She passed around 20 years ago.

That "we" only encompasses about half the electorate. A good chunk of the other half would welcome them in, and happily inform on the rest of us so we'd be shipped off to the gulags.
That Aplebaum post on the Nigerian/Ghanian scammers made my head hurt like eating your ice cream too fast. And that is what you need to do with any of his posts. Read only 500 words at a time, think about it, re-read if necessary and then move on to the next 500 (plus the photos, graphs, etc.).

Iggy, as one of 7, we had all but two of the toys. We never got hurt from them. We were particularly clumsy however. My poor mom had to make 54 trips to the ER.
They definitely left off some doozies, water pressure rockets, Jarts and caps. We would scrape the powder out of the caps and make “bombs”. A little brother nearly lost a eye when one of the bombs left a 2 inch piece of glass embedded in his forehead just above his eyebrow. “Don’t tell mom”.
From that photo at 10:05 it appears that the Queen is fascinated with Trump the Leader who will most likely not be giving her a boxed collection of his speeches on CD.
I was never hurt by any of those toys, but my mom had to run me to the ER a few times.
Once, when I was a 3 oe so I used a high chair to get on the kitchen counter. Got the bottle of baby aspirin out of a cupboard and downed the whole bottle. I still remember the tube going down my nose to pump out my stomach.
Another time I was standing on the rail on the front porch and took a swan dive into some evergreen bushes. Got a chunk part way down my throat that needed extracted.
“A poorly timed recession was fairly probable anyway and a trade war might make one more likely.”
Agree. On the other hand, if Trump manages to wrangle a reasonable agreement out of the Chinese and the Mexicans in the next 9 months or so, there could be a well-timed stock market rally. That’s my hope.
I downed bottles of aspirin twice. One time was the morning of my Aunt Heidi's wedding. My sister, 4 years older was the flower girl and I think I was jealous. That was in Maine. The second time was at home in MA. Don't remember that one, and don't remember my stomach being pumped out twice.

Bows and arrows, BB/pellet guns, firecrackers...
Reminds me of a great Jean Shepherd line;

--The business cycle has been transformed since the corporate tax and regulatory cuts. --
I hope so Mel. I remember saying a year or so ago that either the economy was coming to the end of its cycle or possibly there was so much pent up activity that had been deferred by Barry's 8 years of stagnation that maybe it would be different this time.
We'll certainly find out soon enough.
MM - Don't you think the My Fair Lady comparison was an attempt to denigrate our First Lady? They have an incurable disease -- a parasite in their brain that seeks to cast a nasty light on anything and everything related to our President.
In searching for the Applebaum article this morning, I accidentally clicked on Anne Applebaum's Twitter account where she retweeted this awful comment. "My respect for the Queen (which is large despite my republican leanings) will be even greater if she makes sure @realDonaldTrump does not manage to get his ghastly family photographed with hers as part of his effort to project himself and family as some kind of US equivalent"
Or still in the shells, Buckeye.
I shot my first dove when I was 9 with my old bolt action 410.
Now they won't even let a 12 year old play with a plastic gun.
That Applebaum comment is terrible. What is wrong with her? Barron doesn't even go on trips like this, and neither did any of the other kids, whom I find charming and well-spoken. The only family member with him is Melania, who looks beautiful.
Possibly the Today Show was trying to denigrate, although comparing her to Audrey Hepburn isn't exactly an insult, and most of their viewers and readers now probably haven't seen the movie.
I am going to have to go back to bed for a bit. I woke at 3:00 and couldn't get back to sleep for some time.
Maybe henry or one of you guys can keep an eye on Trump's Twitter feed, although I think he's now about to head to the palace to meet the Queen.

Agree. On the other hand, if Trump manages to wrangle a reasonable agreement out of the Chinese and the Mexicans in the next 9 months or so, there could be a well-timed stock market rally. That’s my hope.

Buckeye,
I downed bottles of aspirin twice. One time was the morning of my Aunt Heidi's wedding. My sister, 4 years older was the flower girl and I think I was jealous. That was in Maine. The second time was at home in MA. Don't remember that one, and don't remember my stomach being pumped out twice.

BREAKING: Ex-FBI Director James Comey never used a grand jury to investigate the Russian interference/collusion "crimes" he said he was investigating, raising suspicions he was more interested in spying on the Trump camp & transition than solving alleged crimes related to Russia.

They do include a picture of Princess Diana down at the bottom of the article. Othere than the black-and-white color way, I don't think it bears any resemblance to the My Fair Lady outfit.

--Ig, they didn't even get to the good stuff... model rockets etc.--
Bows and arrows, BB/pellet guns, firecrackers...
Reminds me of a great Jean Shepherd line;
"My brother Randy, who was deep into his rubber knife stage at the time..."

They are sick!

Or still in the shells, Buckeye.
I shot my first dove when I was 9 with my old bolt action 410.
Now they won't even let a 12 year old play with a plastic gun.

Momto2,
That Applebaum comment is terrible.

Ig, similar story. I was 11, with an old break action .410 that my grandfather gave me. Also hunted squirrel and duck with it.
