Antifa? What's that?
A Seattle man attacked an ICE facility with a rifle and incendiary devices. Hmm, Seattle. A possible antifa connection? Hey, what's antifa anyway? The NY Times gets this close:
Police have not established a motive for the attack, but The Seattle Times reported that a longtime friend of Mr. Van Spronsen’s, Deb Bartley, believed he had intended to provoke a fatal conflict.
“He was ready to end it,” she told The Times. “I think this was a suicide.”
Hmm, did the long-time friend have anything else to say? Link-clickers who make it to the Seattle Times read this (my emphasis)
Deb Bartley, a friend of Van Spronsen’s for about 20 years, described him as an anarchist and anti-fascist, and she believes his attack on the detention center was intended to provoke a fatal conflict.
“He was ready to end it,” Bartley said. “I think this was a suicide. But then he was able to kind of do it in a way that spoke to his political beliefs … I know he went down there knowing he was going to die.”
She and other friends of Van Spronsen got letters in the mail “just saying goodbye.” He also wrote what she referred to as a manifesto, which she declined to discuss in detail but predicted would be taken by authorities.
Huh. The manifesto is probably this and yes, the antifa make the news occasionally but the NY Times has a hard time noticing.
The Washington Post also choked on this bone, quoting Deb Bartley only in part:
Deb Bartley, who said she was a longtime friend of Van Spronsen’s, told the Seattle Times she believes he intended to die by attacking the detention center on Saturday.
“He was ready to end it,” she told the Times. “I think this was a suicide. But then he was able to kind of do it in a way that spoke to his political beliefs. . . . I know he went down there knowing he was going to die.”
Bartley said Van Spronsen left a “manifesto” that she did not share details of but thinks will be used by authorities. She and others got letters from Van Spronsen “saying goodbye,” she said.
On the other hand, USA Today ran an AP story and managed to blurt out the truth, so we know its possible:
69-year-old 'anarchist' shot, killed after attacking Washington migrant detention center
Story Highlights
-
- A 69-year-old man was shot and killed after an attempted attack on a migrant detention facility in Washington.
- The man, Willem Van Spronsen, was described by a friend as an anarchist and anti-fascist.
- The attacker was arrested outside the same detention facility for assaulting a police officer during a protest in 2018.
The idea that the antifa is a problem will have a harder time taking hold while urban liberals remain cocooned by their solicitous news outlets. But all that means is that 2020 is likely to be full of surprises!
So called antifa, which Andy ngo recorded last year

Melinda @ 11:53 from the last thread:
I've read both parts 1 & 2 of Bradley's oped. Part 3 hasn't been released yet. In the past Saul Montes Bradley has claimed to be a personal friend of LTG Flynn so if true I am inclined to believe he may have some direct, inside information on what is going on with Flynn. Since he and Wictor were two of the original founders of QuodVerum.com, I also think he is in agreement with Wictor's 4D Chess sting operation theory but I'm not 100% certain on that. Since discussing Wictor's theory on Flynn causes dissension here I want to rule that out as a possible explanation for what is going on.
After reading both parts of Bradley's oped I think it is safe to claim he believes my Scenario 1 applies. He went into exhaustive detail documenting every detail of Flynn's case and it is clear he believes Mueller unethically indicted Flynn and threatened to go after Flynn's son. Bradley makes it clear he believes Flynn is 100% innocent of any wrongdoing.
That is a brief synopsis of the first two parts of the oped. What is still left unexplained is why the Barr DOJ is not only continuing Mueller's case against Flynn but ramping the charges up to possibly send him to jail. Why is Barr doing that?

Judge Berman asks Epstein's lawyer WHO high in DOJ approved the non-prosecution agreement. Answer: Fisher (sp) and current under-secretary of Treasury (!) - under Mnuchin, lateral to Joe Otting
Joe Otting: Between 2001 and 2010, Otting worked for U.S. Bank, a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp.
He was sworn in as the 31st Comptroller of the Currency on November 27, 2017.
Exactly how does a guy in commercial banking make the call on Epstein?

On the actual thread topic, I think the reluctance to cover antifa goes to a belief in the news media that they have a role to play in what is to be the prescribed worldview to be adopted. Facts about illegal immigrants, antifa, or what trump is really pushing as president must not be allowed to penetrate the desired worldview.
Mustn't inhibit the fundamental transformation.

I don't blame California's "bogus voter rolls and vote harvesting [for the GP{ losses of] so many House seats in the 2018 election."
California's Republican Party is a failed organization. Being a right-wing nut, I tried to join and participate in the Republican Party, but from my home in Santa Monica, despite having access to a lot of internet tools, I couldn't find their front door.
I told a friend about that - this is a guy who was appointed to jobs in Sacramento by TWO Republican governors in his youth - this is a guy who was a Republican convention delegate from California who voted for Reagan. Tellingly, he said: "I can give you someone to call."
I said, "if I need connections, then it's not my party."
The voter fraud -- not to mention the long corruption-creating legacies of the likes of Jesse Unruh and Willie Brown -- are just some of the bad rodents that got into our house after the Republicans stopped functioning like Republicans …

The fate of the GOP in CA is a bit off topic, so to be brief:
This poll shows CA conservatives and liberals are evenly matched at 29% of the total, with moderates accounting for a giant 36%:
https://news.gallup.com/poll/247016/conservatives-greatly-outnumber-liberals-states.aspx?g_source=link_NEWSV9&g_medium=TOPIC&g_campaign=item_&g_content=Conservatives%2520Greatly%2520Outnumber%2520Liberals%2520in%252019%2520U.S.%2520States
Yet, for decades, the GOP has been on the sidelines of government. During Willie Brown's 15+ years as Speaker of the General Assembly, fewer than a dozen bills sponsored by GOP became law. Various wise guys had solutions: term limits, replacing Gray Davis with an actor, Prop 13 … today the GOP can barely muster an objection to the budget, given the dems' super-majorities in Sacramento. Who cares about a political party that has no political impact, much less: no voice.
And then there's the noise of the lefties, and the meekness of conservatives who have the same number of voices as the lefties but seem mute. As a result, we have a partisan lock on public expression, and this sways the moderates who don't want to stand next to the odd balls who are willing to publicly self-identify as a GOP. And on it goes until someone like Trump takes advantage of the enormous contradictions growing inside of the lefty thinking in CA ...

There are a lot of students interested in him, and the majority are guys. Having grown up without fathers (or effective fathers) and with little religious training, the kids are hungering for order and discipline. He has a lot of You Tube videos which have MILLIONS of views, which is quite amazing.
I think most kids know growing up like that, that something isn't right, and they want to get themselves squared away.
I think that watching a 72 year old man run the country on 4-5 hours of sleep, not take crap, and succeed has woken them up.

"I think most kids know growing up like that, that something isn't right, and they want to get themselves squared away."
The same is true for those who grow up without family connections and discipline.
So they seek it out, usually in gangs or cults first, then, if they are lucky, the military.

Kids in middle class neighborhoods seek that structure in sports too.
My tween has a friend whose dad split when he was so young that he has no memory of him. The boy's mom is military and about to deploy to Jordan. The grandparents have stepped in to take care of him and his sister. This boy plays baseball and soccer year round, which is a good way to keep a 13 year old boy tired and out of trouble. He also gets to play for nice guys who set an example for him.
Jordan Peterson is offering more than practical guidance, he is offering spiritual guidance too. He has many lectures about biblical figures and the stories that shaped western civilization. He, like Trump, is a flawed man who is needed at this moment. When you hear him talk about the young men who approach him after his lectures (which fill halls of thousands, btw), and he gets teary about these exchanges, you can't help but be filled with awe at his sacrifice.

Porch, I'm jealous you saw him in person. His book is very good. I bought a copy for our 23 year old.

GUS, no, can’t use Henry. That’s the name of my DOG, who's too smart to comment publicly.
MissMarple2, no one needed an economic bribe to shut off debate in California: the lefties used something stronger. A dozen years ago, at a party in West L.A., after pouring my second stiff bourbon, I walked into a room with 25 party-goers who had persuaded themselves that there was no logical explanation for conservative beliefs, except prejudice and evil. They called me evil; one sincere young man said that if Bush is reelected there was a near certainty that he and other gay people would be locked up – and how could I support that? The silence of the others in that room was the result, not of an economic bribe, but a social one.

That kind of thinking is just whacko on their part.
My message to the Squad:
Get back to work and earn your paycheck.
You weren’t sent to Congress to resolve your own personal issues.

Mary Jo lost 50 years of her life thanks to the cowardice of Ted Kennedy.

Yeah Marlene, I'm listening. When I was on radio I always wanted to be like him. I still feel the same way.

We will never be a Socialist or Communist Country. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE, YOU CAN LEAVE! It is your choice, and your choice alone. This is about love for America. Certain people HATE our Country....
They are anti-Israel, pro Al-Qaeda, and comment on the 9/11 attack, “some people did something.” Radical Left Democrats want Open Borders, which means drugs, crime, human trafficking, and much more...
....Detention facilities are not Concentration Camps! America has never been stronger than it is now – rebuilt Military, highest Stock Market EVER, lowest unemployment and more people working than ever before. Keep America Great!

The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four “progressives,” but now they are forced to embrace them. That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!
