I'm really bummed about this miserable Red Sox series.
Why can't that stupid, obnoxious, loathsome Boston team just freaking stay dead?
Look. Their whole run of success dates back to dirty play and a cheap brawl in 2004, followed by several blown calls that handed the Red Sox their comeback win in the ALCS. So they never ever deserved to have any success in the first place, and it's just offensive to all human sentiment that they won't slink off into the second divsion as they deserve.
Not that I'm a sore loser of vindictive or anything.
I consumed much, but not all ammo, shooting clays on my 50 acre plot.
To the township, two plots taxed separately:
A. 40 acres (with a minus two at the street, was a 42 when laid out. That neighbor has the mule). The street is N-S. The southern property line in straight E-W and also the township border. The northern property line in a ditch, northeast of true E-W
B. 10 acres quarter plot (s-n drainage ditch in the middle of it. Water features throw section lines off too.
Might send moar lead over the expanse this afternoon. ;)
FTSAH: my doctor told me to do low fat, moar whole grains (re cholesterol a bit high). Over a few years of that, cholesterols still a bit high, triglycerides went high, bp went high, osteoarthritis kicked in, and neuropathy (small fiber & autonomic) appeared. Two weeks of zero carbs and the cholesterol/ triglycerides dropped to normal. Over the past two years: cholesterol/ triglycerides stayed normal, bp dropped to normal (~105/65), arthritic pain went away, and the neuropathy has been reversing. My A1C has been low normal the entire time.
Basically, I gave up chips, donuts, French fries, and most pasta.. Added more “bitter greens” like spinach and Brussels sprouts, plus more olive oil than other oils. Occasional carbs (::cough:: beer ::cough::) aren’t a problem.
The solution to the student loan crisis, in all seriousness:
Improve primary education so that a high school education actually provides students with real knowledge and useful life skills that will leave them ready to begin life as productive adults, as was generally the case until the 1970’s or maybe the mid 80’s.
Reverse court rulings and repeal government policies that force most employers to use a 4 year college degree as a gateway credential for any employment, and implement policies (tax credits, whatever else) that encourage companies to hire workers without college degrees and do more on the job training.
For any college to be eligible for any federal financial aid (fed loans, poll grants, scholarships, any federal research grant money), they must lower tuition AND all fees so that the total cost of attendance is equal to or lower than the cost of attendance in 1980, adjusted by the official federal inflation rate (rather than the current costs that are 3 or 4 X the inflation rate)
Allow student loans to be dischargeable in bankruptcy after a suitable waiting period (5 years after graduation? 10? Etc) with schools to pay the government back for 50% of whatever is discharged.
Institute a major push in the media and pop culture to reverse the perception that a 4 year residential college immeodateympost high school is the idealmpath for everyone.
That’d go a long way towards fixing the problem, and there aren’t any good faith arguments against any of those ideas.

A couple threads back you link to Gohmert's oped on Mueller and you cited it again in your weekly AT oped. For 2+ years here you and several others have been citing the Whitey Bulger case as evidence Mueller is corrupt. Rocco posted a link and MM linked to StuinSD that both make the same claims about Mueller that Gohmert made. I did some research and the impression I got was there is a lot of misinformation going on about the Bulger case and Mueller's time in Boston as US Attorney. I posted this the other day in response to Rocco. Please tell me what I am getting wrong that proves Gohmert and everyone else is right in regards to this specific allegation against Mueller.
From the other day with a couple of changes:
The problem with relying on politicians pundits for information is they only give you the facts that promote the narrative they are promoting. They leave out the facts that help explain the other side of the story.
Here is a link I found on the incident. This murder case has nothing to do with Whitey Bulger. Louie Gohmert should be ashamed of himself for being dishonest and misleading people by blatantly lying about Mueller's involvement in the case.
The crime your link refers to occurred in 1965 long before Mueller became US Attorney in Boston in 1986. Let that sink in. Mueller had nothing to do with these 4 gangsters getting convicted. 20+ years after these 4 gangsters were convicted, Mueller's predecessor (Weld), Mueller himself, as well as Mueller's successor (McNamara) all wrote letters to the parole board recommending they not get parole.
Wait you say there was "widely known evidence" that these men were innocent and the fact that Mueller did not want them paroled despite knowing they were framed is proof he is corrupt (I suppose that means Weld and McNamara are corrupt too). Here is the source of the evidence that proves their innocence:
In Boston, the four men were always widely known to be innocent. As early as 1973, a Mafia turncoat wrote in a local best-selling book how they were framed by the FBI and its star Mob informant, hitman Joe “the Animal” Barboza, one of the actual killers of Deegan.
Barboza had turned against the local Mafia, and decided to put several of their members and associates into the Deegan murder plot, while protecting a friend of his, another serial killer named Jimmy “the Bear” Flemmi.
Let that sink in. The source of the "widely known evidence proving their innocence" was another gangster (a Mafia turncoat) who wrote a book in 1973. The identity of the Mafia turncoat who wrote the book was not documented in the article.
46 years later in 2019 we have Gohmert and #fearporn pundits like Jim Hoft promoting the narrative that Mueller is a "dirty cop" because 22 years after 4 gangsters were convicted Mueller (and Weld and McNamara) ignored the story of another gangster who says they didn't commit the crime and recommended they not get a pardon. Perhaps Mueller, Weld and McNamara all shared the belief that gangsters lie all the time to help frame their enemies or to help their friends get acquitted?
More bullshit from Gohmert:
I found no explanation as to why he did not bear any responsibility for the $100 million paid to the defendants who were framed by FBI agents under his control.
Drum roll please...Maybe because Mueller wasn't FBI Director in 1965 when these 4 gangsters were convicted so therefore the corrupt FBI agents were not under his control. Blame J. Edgar Hoover if you want to blame someone. He was apparently informed early on the FBI was protecting Barboza and framing 4 innocent men. Is there any evidence Hoover shared that exculpatory information with anyone in the DOJ (going all the way back to 1965)?
Okay, this is sports related (though I wish this weren't true.)
Hot off her starring role in the Women's World Cup, Megan Rapinoe has inked a two-book deal with Penguin to write adult and middle grade books on social justice.
Why believe what is in front of your eyes when a secret plan / evil conspiracy of many twists and turns explains nothing while making you feel like an insider?
The key to Mueller is his consistent arrival at events where bad things happened, all without the bad things stopping or even slowing down. That is a preponderance of evidence that whatever Mueller is up to, the terms “law enforcement “ and “good” do not apply.
I would welcome your attempt at proving Gohmert is telling the truth about Mueller in regards to the Whitey Bulger case. I can discuss issues with you without resorting to personal attacks. Let's have a respectful discussion on the topic. If you can prove me wrong I will be more than willing to acknowledge it.
Exactly Henry, he is at best AWOL at worst complicit in every miscarriage of justice of the last 35 years. And hence his credibility is in question, when weld resurfaces we can challenge his motives
What many believe to be right in front of their eyes is only the one side of the story that politicians and pundits want them to believe. For 2+ years here some posters have been saying the Whitey Bulger case where Mueller convicted 4 innocent people he knew to be innocent was clear proof he was a corrupt "dirty cop". I don't think that is the truth at all so I'm just trying to figure out what the real facts are.
How did you know I was talking about Mueller if you didn't read my post? That appears to be an obvious lie on your part since my question to Clarice clearly triggered you into engaging in personal attacks and displaying your true nature again.

What coverups? I've already debunked Mueller's involvement with White Bulger and Uranium One. The accusation Mueller covered up for the CIA's bombing of Pan Am 103 (which StuinSD accused he of) seems absurd to me.
I just want to know what are the legit acts of corruption Mueller should be held accountable for and what alleged acts of corruption are not true at all but just widely perceived to be.

As Alan Dershowitz recalled on “The Cats Roundtable” podcast, Muller is “the guy who kept four innocent people in prison for many years in order to protect the cover of Whitey Bulger as an FBI informer. … And that’s regarded in Boston of one of the great scandals of modern judicial history. And Mueller was right at the center of it.”
This is exactly what I am talking about. This is a completely false narrative Dersowitz is trying to mislead people into believing. The 4 gangsters wrongly convicted have absolutely nothing to do with Whitey Bulger and it occurred 20+ years before Mueller arrived in Boston.
Rudy GiulianiVerified account @RudyGiuliani · 51m51 minutes ago
In the investigation of the investigators Schiff must be asked for the direct evidence he said he has of @realDonaldTrump so-called involvement in collusion with Russians to affect 2016 election. If he lied, Schiff should be impeached. At least Nadler could get one impeachment.
I think the late Steve Dunleavy knew about bulger also re his Roman a clef it didnt occur to me then, because it came out when I was in graduate school
Once again that is exactly what I am talking about. That link confirmed my analysis of the Whitey Bulger/Mueller misinformation is correct. Whitey Bulger had absolutely nothing to do with the framing of four gangsters in 1965 for a murder committed by another gangster. Bulger's name isn't mentioned once in any of the embedded documents (at least as far as I could tell). Mueller had absolutely nothing do with their wrongful convictions, which occurred 20+ years before he arrived in Boston.
The supreme irony of this Whitey Bulger/Mueller issue is that conservative pundits and politicians are guilty of doing to Mueller what they claim Mueller did to those 4 framed gangsters.
Cap'n, that's the link I posted which TomR compared to Gateway Pundit and Sundance I believe. But in that podcast between Howie and Albano, the latter admits that's he's seen the letter Mueller sent the parole board asking them to deny parole for these guys. Mueller was doing what he does best. Covering the asses of his puppeteers.
If racist Elijah Cummings would focus more of his energy on helping the good people of his district, and Baltimore itself, perhaps progress could be made in fixing the mess that he has helped to create over many years of incompetent leadership. His radical “oversight” is a joke!
I am focused on Whitey for a couple of reasons. JOM posters here for 2+ years frequently cited that case as the most compelling evidence for their perception Mueller is corrupt. When you read opeds like the one Gohmert wrote as well as the one CH linked, the Whitey Bulger case is almost always listed first because it is the most damning (if true). I am fairly confident I have debunked the Whitey Bulger false narrative. What else have conservative politicians and pundits been misleading us on in regards to Mueller's past? I don't know but would like to know the truth.
There is no dispute Mueller, Weld and McNamara sent letters to the parole board recommending no parole. Why would either of them believe the words of another criminal gangster and recommend letting four gangsters out of prison? How is this proof that all three US Attorney's are corrupt?

So far, seems satisfactory.
They are responsible for EMT, Fire, and Sheriff and appears the service in our township is very well managed and efficient.
Only local income tax is for the schools (1% of adjusted gross) and property tax which is 30-40% of what we paid it the Columbus metro area.

Why believe what is in front of your eyes when a secret plan / evil conspiracy of many twists and turns explains nothing while making you feel like an insider?
The key to Mueller is his consistent arrival at events where bad things happened, all without the bad things stopping or even slowing down. That is a preponderance of evidence that whatever Mueller is up to, the terms “law enforcement “ and “good” do not apply.

Henry @ 1:49
What many believe to be right in front of their eyes is only the one side of the story that politicians and pundits want them to believe. For 2+ years here some posters have been saying the Whitey Bulger case where Mueller convicted 4 innocent people he knew to be innocent was clear proof he was a corrupt "dirty cop". I don't think that is the truth at all so I'm just trying to figure out what the real facts are.

Cumming’s isn’t on the trip with Nancy.
Pelosi was joined on the trip to by several other black Democrats, including Majority Whip James Clyburn, Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Karen Bass, Rep. Barbara Lee, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Rep. John Lewis.
The Democratic delegation is visiting the U.S. Army Africa headquarters in Italy. They will also visit Ghana, a trip that coincides with the 400th anniversary of the first enslaved Africans landing in America. Pelosi will be the first speaker of House to address the Ghanaian Parliament.

Posted by: Tom R | July 28, 2019 at 03:21 PM
Cap'n, that's the link I posted which TomR compared to Gateway Pundit and Sundance I believe. But in that podcast between Howie and Albano, the latter admits that's he's seen the letter Mueller sent the parole board asking them to deny parole for these guys. Mueller was doing what he does best. Covering the asses of his puppeteers.
Posted by: Rocco | July 28, 2019 at 03:22 PM
@realDonaldTeump
If racist Elijah Cummings would focus more of his energy on helping the good people of his district, and Baltimore itself, perhaps progress could be made in fixing the mess that he has helped to create over many years of incompetent leadership. His radical “oversight” is a joke!
Posted by: henry | July 28, 2019 at 03:23 PM
Tom is focused on Whitey and skips everything else Muelker touched in his government and private careers.
Posted by: henry | July 28, 2019 at 03:24 PM
Henry @ 3:24
I am focused on Whitey for a couple of reasons. JOM posters here for 2+ years frequently cited that case as the most compelling evidence for their perception Mueller is corrupt. When you read opeds like the one Gohmert wrote as well as the one CH linked, the Whitey Bulger case is almost always listed first because it is the most damning (if true). I am fairly confident I have debunked the Whitey Bulger false narrative. What else have conservative politicians and pundits been misleading us on in regards to Mueller's past? I don't know but would like to know the truth.
Posted by: Tom R | July 28, 2019 at 03:33 PM
We all want to know the truth, Tom, and if Levin has been part and parcel of misleading me that would downgrade his credibility.
Posted by: Captain Hate | July 28, 2019 at 03:38 PM
Rocco @ 3:22
There is no dispute Mueller, Weld and McNamara sent letters to the parole board recommending no parole. Why would either of them believe the words of another criminal gangster and recommend letting four gangsters out of prison? How is this proof that all three US Attorney's are corrupt?
