Well, GDP equals productivity plus population growth so there is a grain of truth there.
But if your new population growth is a net drag on productivity because they all go on welfare and send everything they make back to Guadalajara that grain dissolves into multicultural Metamucil.

Tom, DSF said "The Reverend Al likely worked with Trump on some FBI stings!"

How do those videos make him "probably correct?"

The one video has a criminal suggesting that Al became a snitch because he got busted in a drug deal with feds. The other has Al denying that he ever did anything wrong. Those two pieces of evidence have contradictory information. The one thing they are for sure consistent on is that neither mentions Trump or stings.

Maybe you should claim to direct message DSF, like you pretended to do when I proved to you that he claimed that Adam Schiff was a white hat working with Trump.

What is your motive, Tom?

Yes that might make people a little ornery,

How about the simple fact Sharpton admitted to being a FBI informant? Based on the fact you were trying to discredit that tweet of his you linked I bet it’s probably something else DawsonSFields knew that you didn’t.

I tend not to read or listen to pundits, but looking at websites I can't but help see the headlines of their articles.

From past experience I know which liberal pundits to avoid because their logic never made sense to me.

I couldn't write so often making any sense. I'd need some research assistants to validate my facts.

Unless I'm writing an opinion piece, and then facts don't seem to matter. I could just write about what I think and use some anecdotes, instead of facts, to make my point.

Now "conservative" opinion writers are doing the same thing in attacking Trump. I used to read these people and thought they made sense. No more.

And the thought occurred to me that why have we ever needed pundits. They aren't particularly insightful, or for that matter, intelligent.

I mean, if their opinions were well thought out, intelligent and infrequent they might actually have some value.

I've been wondering about this for some time. If, in a conflict with China, the Marines take and hold the artificial Chinese islands, how do they avoid being a stationary, highly vulnerable target for long-range weapons?

I've always thought the Marines and Navy could clear the islands pretty easily, but holding them seems suicidal.

Yet, if the Marines and Navy could combine defensive capabilities, maybe the artificial islands are defensible. No force could get close enough to re-take the islands. Only long-range weapons would be a worry. If they can be intercepted, the islands could be held and armed further with em-placed armament or Naval reinforcement.

Those Chinese islands are important. I have to think that people in our Defense Dept. are focused on them.

jim nj

"A World War II Battle Holds Key Lessons for Modern Warfare."

Guadalcanal. "Specifically, the Guadalcanal campaign shows how the old saying “the best defense is a good offense” can be turned upside-down – with a strong defense becoming an effective offensive weapon. The Japanese sought to find weaknesses, but kept running up against American power on land, on the sea and in the air."

"Realizing the Japanese had committed to retaking Guadalcanal no matter the cost, the U.S. strategy shifted to defense-as-offense, or what is called a “cost imposition” campaign. It’s most often seen as a business strategy, but can be applied to military efforts too."

"In general, cost imposition involves making it very expensive – in personnel, equipment and time – for an adversary to achieve a particular goal. This presents the enemy with a serious dilemma: Giving up means certain defeat, of course, but continuing to compete decreases the likelihood of winning.

At Guadalcanal, the Japanese fell prey to the “sunk costs fallacy,” deciding that because they had spent so much already, they should just keep going. They found their battleships matched not only against the U.S. warships and planes, but also bulldozers, as U.S. Marines repaired key airfields in between barrages of shelling from Japanese ships offshore.

While the Japanese Navy expended round after round of ammunition, American planes were still able to take off and land, conducting repeated raids that sank or damaged the Japanese warships."

Per the article the Chinese have studied the
battle of Guadalcanal. Will they fixate on re-capturing the artificial island or come up with a better idea?

Those artificial islands seem to be a key part of Chinese strategy. Hold them and they project forward power. Lose them and they are barriers to forward projection and anti-denial bases for the US.

The thugs running the big cities are just as bad as the thugs shooting up the place.

They just wear nicer clothes.

As found in my Inbox this morning:

This is truly laughable.

In 2016, calling 50% of the population racist turned out to be a losing strategy for Hillary the Democrats.

So, in 2020 the battle cry is to call 75% of the population racists.

You can’t make this stuff up.

There isn’t a day that goes by that you don’t see or hear a certain political party (Cough! Democrats, Cough!) accusing someone Trump supporters of being racists.

Ironically (or NOT) the ones screaming “racist” the loudest are the true racists.

Cue up Democrat Representative Elijah Cummings, of Maryland's 7th congressional district, serving in his 13th term in the House.

Under his fine leadership the city of Baltimore has degenerated into a rat-infested ghetto.

Even Baltimore’s recently disgraced mayor Catherine Pugh (whose nose-bleed drop for corruption forcing her to resign in May 2019) expressed shock and disgust in 2018 while touring run-down areas of the city.

Her response: “Whoa, you can smell the rats” and “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”

So, one year later, Trump making similar statements about Baltimore incurs the wrath of a true racist who hasn’t done anything in the last 25+ years to improve his district.

What’s truly amazing is how people like Cummings – among numerous other politicians – keep getting elected.

They’re not interested in leading the people they supposedly serve as elected officials.

Their main focus is to stoke hatred.

It’s another piece of the puzzle leading us toward civil unrest which will intensify in the Chaos of 2020.

Ironically, (or NOT) when playing the race card loses its affect is when things will get really ugly.

Get ready.

Doubling down on a losing strategy never ends well.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

China is doing very badly, worst year in 27 - was supposed to start buying our agricultural product now - no signs that they are doing so. That is the problem with China, they just don’t come through. Our Economy has become MUCH larger than the Chinese Economy is last 3 years....

..My team is negotiating with them now, but they always change the deal in the end to their benefit. They should probably wait out our Election to see if we get one of the Democrat stiffs like Sleepy Joe. Then they could make a GREAT deal, like in past 30 years, and continue

...to ripoff the USA, even bigger and better than ever before. The problem with them waiting, however, is that if & when I win, the deal that they get will be much tougher than what we are negotiating now...or no deal at all. We have all the cards, our past leaders never got it!
