The NY Times explains that the "focus" of the Whistleblower scandal is whether Trump abused Presidential power for political purposes in 2019. Trump wants to "deflect" from that by alleging that Obama/Biden abused Presidential power for political purposes by pressuring the Ukraine in 2016. Hmm.
The controversy has focused on whether Mr. Trump manipulated foreign policy — a military aid package to Ukraine had been delayed at the time of the phone call — to pressure the country’s newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to take action to damage Mr. Biden’s election bid.
On Saturday, Mr. Trump sought to deflect attention from that question by accusing Mr. Biden of acting improperly as vice president in calling for the ouster of a Ukranian prosecutor who had overseen an inquiry into corruption related to the oligarch whose company employed Hunter Biden.
Trump's supporters also wonder whether the Ukrainian dirt that was dished on Manafort in 2016 was put forward as a favor to Team Obama in a bid to hit Trump and boost Hillary.
As to Biden:
No evidence has surfaced to support Mr. Trump’s claim that the former vice president intentionally tried to help his son by pressing for the prosecutor general’s dismissal. But some State Department officials had expressed concern that Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine could complicate his father’s diplomacy there.
No evidence has emerged, which might be a predictable consequence of a quashed investigation. Then again, proving there is no evidence offers the usual challenge of proving a negative. Fun for everyone!
Well. If the media can take down Trump *and* Biden its a win-win for their most engaged readership/viewership. TBF, it also creates a huge opening in the Sane Center, if there is any viable candidate left to fill it.

I know, but to see them continually embarrass themselves in public is simply amazing.
They keep bringing Carl Bernstein on to comment on Trump's "scandals", like it's Watergate all over again, and we are supposed to believe Comey, McCabe and the rest are sacrosanct because they are FBI.
All I think of when I see Bernstein is that "Deep Throat" was an FBI guy with an axe to grind and Woodward & Bernstein never disclosed that information to the public.
The press is as corrupt as the democrats.

Captain Hate,
My memory of learning about Deep Throat's identity resurfaced when all of the Comey/McCabe/Strzok stuff was revealed and I began wondering how long that agency had been pulling strings behind the scenes.
That's when I started thinking the entire agency should be dismantled except for the fingerprint and forensics labs.
They seem to be preoccupied with a lot of things which are NOT their business while missing important items like terrorist organizations within our borders.

Fortunately, we have wised up to some of these poseurs, like Jennifer Rubin, Mitt Romney, and Bill Kristol.
Remember how many of them told us Donald Trump was a liberal?
Who is it that got taxes lowered, reduced government regulations, recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and rebuilt the military?
ALL promises GOP candidates had been making for years. Trump, the "liberal", actually delivered.
So all of the pretend conservatives can go pound sand, as far as I am concerned.

Got this in an email from our club's board, sure to ruin many a keto diet:)
Additionally, the Committee reviewed data provided by meat industry representatives. As demonstrated by the data, over the last months the industry has drastically increased the cost of all beef products, particularly those used by the Club (prime beef). The cause prior to August was attributed to reductions in beef cattle herds, however in August, one of the largest meat processing plants in the country experienced a catastrophic fire, resulting in significant reductions in product availability. For example:
End of 2018 September 14, 2019
Prime Beef Tenderloin (pre-trim) $11.45/lb $18.77/lb
Prime Ribeye (pre-trim) $8.12/lb. $14.49/lb.
Prime New York Strip (pre-trim) $6.38/lb. $14.66/lb.
That is some kind of escalation.

In the style of our Steph ...
A friend told me about his trip out with his grandson. This is what he said. "Last week, I took my grandchildren to a restaurant. My 6 year-old grandson asked if he could say grace."
As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food and I would thank you even more if Grandpa gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty, peace & justice for all. Amen!"
Along with the laughter and nodding of heads from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman at the next table remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why -- I never!"
Hearing this, my grandson burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong Grandpa? Is God mad at me?"
After I assured him that he had done a terrific job and that God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my grandson and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my grandson asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied. Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is sometimes good for the soul."
Naturally, I bought my grandchildren ice cream at the end of the meal. My grandson stared at his ice cream for a moment, and then he did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman.
With a big smile he looked her in the eye and told her, "Here ma'am, this is for you, you grouchy old bitch. You must be a Democrat, shove it up your ass and cool off!"
Kinda brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it! "

Well, he's already told allies they need to share the tremendous economic burden in defense which we have borne, and nowo he has moved onto trade, saying the UK will get a deal with us after Brexit, China's terrible behavior since entering the WTO.
He's now discussing how China stole Micron's designs.
He says we lost 60,000 factories after China lost WTO. We seek justice, and China shouldn't be allowed to game the system.

I have been given some thought to the Ukrainian phone call kerfuffle and I am now leaning toward Trump planting this whole whistleblower thing. First, it's hearsay, then Trump denies saying anything inappropriate, then teases he might release the conversation, and admits to some discussion about Biden and corruption.
Stretching the whole thing out trolling the Dems and the media.
