As we approach the final countdown on Brexit, here is flow chart of possible scenarios. It's the sort of thing we normally enjoy in December as the NFL PLayoffs come into focus and forty-seven teams jockey for eleventy spots.

MM @ 5:02...I heard Rush talk about that driving back from grocery shopping earlier this afternoon. I was half listening because a state trooper had pulled a logging truck to the side of the road and I had to slow down. The logging truck drivers are the cowboys of the roads up here. Rush's point was that George W. gave his cousin Billy the advice he had followed during his administration..."just ignore it."

THIS is the best speech on Brexit (and the remainiacs in Parliament):
Cromwell to Parliament:
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.
Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.
Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?
Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?
Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.
Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God’s help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.
I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.
Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!

Bolton is about to become the most revered, wise, blameless foreign policy strategist in America. You will see a lot of “he was the adult in the room” and “he spoke truth to power” quotes
This will last for exactly as long as it is useful to the media for Trump bashing purposes

Before he became emblematic of just how low Dems can go to smear Trump, Kavanaugh was considered a rather squishy choice, conservative-wise. As we all know.

Bolton is about to become the most revered, wise, blameless foreign policy strategist in America.
That would work out better for the libs if it was the other way around, one would think, i.e. if Bolton was the war dove and Trump the hawk. A tough road to hoe for them, painting a neo-con as the good guy.

Sure, GUS, that's what I was saying - I can just see Romney doing a special broadcast from the oval office to announce that, due to so many serious allegations, he's compelled to withdraw blah blah blah.
Court-related, if RBG shuffles off this mortal coil before the election, I think Trump should just defer on a nominee until after the reelection. He can say he's doing it to keep Congress and the election civil, and follow up his reelection with the conservative lady, can't remember her name. I can see Trump doing that, though I'm sure he would be criticized for it.

Hrt, I love you comments. Here is a story that will illustrate your comments about FULL COMMIED DEMOCRATS.
18 YEARS AGO....tomorrow, I was holding my son in my arms. He was 6 months old. I saw the second plane hit the second World Trade center tower on TV. My Paternal Grandfather had spent a good portion of his career working in Manhattan, and I had been there many times. Upon seeing and realizing the attack, I called my EXTREMELY LIBERAL OLDER Brother, (one year older than me). I was shaken, and I said to my brother..."Maybe this will bring all of us Americans' together".
He said.
"I HOPE NOT".
I hung up the phone.
18 years later, I have a nephew who was wounded in Iraq as a Marine, and I have a niece at the AIR FORCE ACADEMY, a Junior and very high in her class. My sister's son and my oldest nephew is a Conservative purple heart recipient, and I am very very very proud of him. My Niece is soon to be an OFFICER in the AIR FORCE, and likewise, I am so so proud of her. My older brother has a son, who has a job in Las Vegas. Like his Father he is very liberal and unhappy. My Son, is an Eagle Scout, a graduate of the finest high school in Wisconsin, he is a Freshman admit to the ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SCHOOL at UW-MILWAUKEE, and is Happy and Patriotic.

"But then I was reminded by some of the people I was chatting with of some other factors to consider. One of the biggest was the idea that, aside from random mutations in each generation, genes are passed down from parents to children. The elephant in the room here should be obvious. How would a gene be passed down if its primary function was to make you vastly less likely to engage in the activities required to produce children? Good question."
I'm a little surprised that I hadn't thought about that myself.

Gus, sounds like your son, and your niece and nephew, are all the kind of Americans that make it possible to hold out hope for the country's future. Even your brother and his kid might turn it around someday, there's always hope. Eighteen years ago, tomorrow, I left work to pick up my three kids at school in the middle of the day (a 6th grader, an 8th grader and a 10th grader, so three different schools - ridiculous!). They're all happy, healthy, employed now - but they're not political at all, unless maybe they're slight liberals. Somehow I couldn't sway them, lol.
Posted by: hrtshpdbox | September 10, 2019 at 08:54 PM
Prayers and all good wishes to Kev, who will endure and prevail, I warrant!
I've always like Bolton as a straight shooter, but he is certainly pro-the use of US power--perhaps more than is wise here and there. I bet he was mad, for instance, when President Trump didn't react with firepower over our shot-down drone. But then I don't know, unlike the all-knowing solons at the NYT. CNN I hope is writhing once again with their stupid "Trump hurts our spies" story. But to writhe you have to have a conscience.
Posted by: Catsmeat | September 10, 2019 at 08:54 PM
Jane, I don't see the "hate" that you describe, but I do agree with you otherwise. John Bolton is a fine fine man in my opinion. He is very strong willed intelligent and somewhat single purposed as a Patriotic foreign and military hawk. Generally, and overall, I have been an acolyte of Bolton's strategy, his philosophy, and his STRENGTH.
For whatever reason, Mr Bolton, and the President, are not on the same page. I regret that. But, there is NOTHING to HATE about John Bolton. I hope Mr Bolton is someday an important part of American foreign policy and political strength.....a la Winston Churchill.

President Trump is not of that mind. He sees the troops as people, and because of that is not inclined to use the military.
I don't dislike Bolton at all. I think he has served our country admirably. It's just that after 18 years in Afghanistan, enough is enough.

I don't hate Bolton any more than Trump does. I just disagree with him on the proper use of American power.
I don't really think he is actually a neo-con, a label he apparently rejects. He is more of an old style con, but it seems to me he somewhat lacks the old style con's reticence to use that power willy nilly.
Regime change is all well and good unless upon meeting the new boss, he is even worse than the old boss, which in much of the world is the case.
Our power needs to be used very conservatively and when it is, it must be used to overwhelmingly destroy the enemy. If that is how it had been used in the last 60 to 70 years we would have much less need of using it at all, because the rest of the world would be scared shitless of us which is an end devoutly to be desired.

For example. The FULL COMMIES hate him, just as they would have hated ANYONE who beat the DISGUSTING RODHAM. And the LOSER FAKE CONSERVATIVE NEVER TRUMPERS, hate him for EXTREMELY DIFFERENT REASONS. Donald Trump IS PATRIOTIC, he is a winner, he is extremely capable, he knows how to get shit done. His TWITTER stuff, and his ego don't phase me at all. He knows what he is doing.

I talked with a guy who was on duty the night of that gripping story that the Duranty Times somehow found room for in between ill disguised propaganda in their Sunday Magazine, where some skirt went hiking the Presidential Range in February 2015 by herself before some freak storm smashed her lights out. The guy told me he received her last emergency signal and she was properly outfitted for most situations but not that master blaster. He also told me that he heard two sets of distinct knocks on the side of his building even though she was no ways close to there. Btw she is far from the last entry of fatalities in that range.
Good to see my absence has been noted. I'll be back.

Well the problem is deterrance vs regime change, in the case of afghanistan obviously pinprick missile strikes were imsufficient but deploying tens of thousands of troops were too much.

I am pleased to endorse Governor Mike Parson of Missouri. He is very Popular, Strong, and knows what he is doing – he gets it! Based on the fact that Mike has announced he will run again in 2020 for Governor, Mike Parson has my Complete and Total Endorsement!

Bolton's "problem" is neo-conservatism's problem - it's good to be tough on adversaries, but you wind up in perpetual skirmish mode. I think it helped Trump to have Bolton's point of view to listen to, I don't think it's quite as dire as Tucker paints it. Plus, I used to watch Bolton on Red Eye years ago, and he's funny!
According to Time, Bishop has just gone ahead of McCready with 55% in. Still looks to me like a lot of city votes still to be counted.

Didt the patriots wonder why the raiders were willing to let him go so easily
In neither instance did that mental case cost them anything other than chattering from the unfree presstitutes, about which Chuckie and Mumbles don't care.

The invitation of the taliban may have been the last straw for bolton specially at this particular moment. Now they probably would have to meet sometime and camp david is thr most secure aite, where else thr gulf states western europe.

McCreedy had a 9K vote lead based only on early voting results. As votes are counted from today’s voting, Bishop has brought it back to basically even.
Union county % for Bishop went up as they counted the votes from today. He will win.

Jane, a sample negative comment I read on another blog.
"During the Vietnam War the safest place to be was in the reserves or national guard. They never were sent to Nam and placed in combat.
John Bolton pulled strings to enlist in a reserve unit that was 100% safe from any danger. Dick Cheney went so far as to knock his wife up to ensure he didn’t get drafted. Liz Cheney has boys old enough to serve, but none have.
Most neocons are “chicken hawks” who are always looking for wars that other people’s children and grandchildren can fight and die in.
The one thing I will give John McCain – likely the only thing – is that he was a neocon who served. I won’t give Miss Lindsey that credit because he was a JAG. His greatest danger was getting maimed or killed by an angry wife when he tried to hit on her husband at an Officers’ Club dance."

I think part of the reason Bolton was there was for the terror effect--rather like the Chinese allowing pictures of troops and tanks in the stadium in HK--troops and tanks they'd be idiotic to actually use.
Hang in there, Kev.
Howdy, CH!We were starting to miss you sunny disposition,

Jim Rhodes was a JAG; has it come to separating combat from admin? Front line versus support?

Jane my dear, I could not agree with you more.
Some have asked why BOLTON was ever hired to begin with. I think he was a great hire. Now 2 years in, Trump and Bolton have obvious differences of opinion. Trump is the boss. I don't begrudge Bolton at all. I hope this is an amicable parting of the ways. Up until the last 2 years, I was also much more of a hawk with regard to Afghanistan and other issues. I respect both points of view, and in fact, TRUMPS view, is something that HONEST, HONORABLE FULL COMMIES....(is such animals existed), should be able to find common ground with.
Jane, you're not just a pretty face.
Posted by: GUS | September 10, 2019 at 09:27 PM
was he a good addition to the roster or why do it.
He's very talented when he plays and tries, which now seems unpossible. Hoody won a Super Bowl despite Josh Gordon being unable to stop using weed so Boy's Town - Foxboro wins Super Bowls while having problem cases come and go.
Posted by: Captain Hate | September 10, 2019 at 09:29 PM
Iggy,
Apparently because Bolton has recently found it difficult to concede his page to the author.
Posted by: Jane | September 10, 2019 at 09:30 PM
I think the difference between Bolton and Trump is:
Bolton wants to defeat the enemy, and
Trump wants to compel the enemy to participate in mutually beneficial peace.
Posted by: sbwaters | September 10, 2019 at 09:32 PM
Jim,
I DIDNT SERVE SO I ALWAYS find those kinds of comments very uncomfortable. Hell neither did Trump or that angelic Obama.

That seems an apt characterization SBW, kudos.
