By pursuing an indictment against McCabe, Bill Barr stooge Jessie Lui is sending a chilling signal to the world that Donald Trump will no longer tolerate any examination of his administration.

I'm sure the left is already saying this kind of thing; I'd bet CNN will have McCabe on to say this kind of thing, over and over.

What will McCabe be indicted for? Getting bribed by Hillary through campaign donations to his wife? Or parking outside the lines in the FBI garage?

Old Lurker

Sorry, Jane "It's a start..."

Is nothing of the sort when the article's opening sentence is "Several news outlets are now reporting that U.S. Attorney for DC, Jessie Liu, will likely indict former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe for lying to FBI investigators."

Couple of years ago, we could become excited. Today, not so much.

Now OL,

You are not allowed to tell me what I can get excited about! Harrumph!

(You are right of course, but sheesh!)

BOMBSHELL: Blasey Ford's Father Supported Kavanaugh's Confirmation

Privately, however, it appears the Blasey family had significant doubts about what Ford was trying to accomplish by coming forward and making unsubstantiated allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. Within days of Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, a fascinating encounter took place. Brett Kavanaugh’s father was approached by Ford’s father at the golf club where they are both members.

Ralph Blasey, Ford’s father, went out of his way to offer to Ed Kavanaugh his support of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, according to multiple people familiar with the conversation that took place at Burning Tree Club in Bethesda, Maryland. “I’m glad Brett was confirmed,” Ralph Blasey told Ed Kavanaugh, shaking his hand. Blasey added that the ordeal had been tough for both families.

The encounter immediately caused a stir at the close-knit private golf club as staff and members shared the news. The conversation between the two men echoed a letter that Blasey had previously sent to the elder Kavanaugh. Neither man returned requests for comment about the exchanges.

(Reuters) - Kroger Co (KR.N) on Thursday raised doubts about its profit targets from an ongoing turnaround plan, even as the supermarket chain operator posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit, helped by its investments in delivery and online operations.

A deep dive into the NC special election

The most unnerving example, from the Democratic perspective, is rural Robeson County. The ethnic makeup of this county is as follows: Native American (38.6%), White (25.7%), Black (24%), Hispanic (8.52%), Two or More Races (2.15%), Asian (0.66%), Other (0.275%). On Tuesday the Democrat received a fraction of the votes he received in 2018, running for the same seat. Ryan Matsumoto of Inside Elections provides the gory details: “McCready won Robeson County by only 1.11 points, a MASSIVE decrease from his 15.31 point margin last November.” In 2012, Obama carried Robeson by 17 points.

Good afternoon! How about some Maine gossip? Stephen King has been making the media rounds promoting his new book. He criticized Susan Collins on Colbert's show. It is difficult to explain that King is an icon in Maine. He and his wife have been very generous with their money over the years in Maine. He has been very critical of Collins and we've heard quite a bit of grumbling about her this summer from other people. Earlier this summer,I heard a local radio guy say that he saw a "Bye,Bye Susan" bumper sticker on a car. When we went to the arts festival in Grand Lake Stream in July,we parked behind a car with that bumper sticker. I laughed and said to hubby "I guess that is a thing" and realized that she (Collins) is going to be in the political fight of her life.

Using Groucho's Bag O' Principles may not be the political battlefield to plant one's flag upon...

That is fascinating, jim sc,

Was werewolf boy ever a collins fan, i dont think so.

I sure hope Sidney Powell has good security. I'm concerned about "suicide" as with two shots to the back of the head.

Probably not,Narciso, but in a state like Maine, everyone is supposed to play nice. :)

Steph, not that I would ever practice medicine online, and I am not, but for a hypothetical patient with the numbers you reported from yesterday, that pt should have been admitted to the hospital.
As buckeye has noted, a patient would been walking around with extremely high blood sugars for months based on that HGB A1 c of over 11.; a glucose of 1000 is sky high.

A morning BS as reported by you today is extremely high 10-12 hours out from the sugar OD.

I would tell that patient to measure her BS before and after supper tonight, get a fasting BS on getting up in the morning, then check it again an hour after eating, and call all those numbers in to whoever saw her the other day. Especially this morning's fasting BS.

I would also tell that person that there is no more "cheating"---sugar is POISON. If that person wants to be dancing at her granddaughters wedding, she is done with Snickers, and Italian bread.
Do NOT ingest any more of that crap that turns into sugar.
If she "can't live without bread," maybe imagining living without a leg or kidneys or vision can help her over the craving.

And KK can help more than any traditionally trained nutritionist can.
The guy resolved renal failure. That doesn't happen too often in conventional treatment realms.

Now, I may be missing some key information, as those numbers do not fit somebody sending you home, with a "we'll get a scan and then see the endocrinologist" at all to me, and that is why I would not give medical care online.

I sure hope Sidney Powell has good security.

I hope so too jimmyk.

She is tough, courageous, and smart as a whip.

I bet she has it covered.

Deplorable Don also picked up on the NC election intervals.
My question: if the Dems came up short on minority voters how did they manage to keep it as close as it was?

Internals not intervals ...

You can do it. The word starts with an "f"....

Stephanie Nene Not Your Normal Granma

Thanks amom for the input. I'm keeping a log and have gone from 3 sticks a day to before/after meals. That one this am was 30 minutes after breakfast not a fasting read. Still.... it is very sky high.

Wishing Steph a good outcome. .... prayers for you.

After less than 3 months on Keto the world seems so different.
Middle daughter is home. I see her in the morning scarfing a bagel ... or snacking on chips ... or having a side of rice with dinner and it's all I can do to hold my tongue. Not so much holding back from explaining Keto because I've passed details of my experiment on to all and sundry. But just to hold back from exclaiming "holy cow, have you ever seen so many carbs in one place!?!?!?"
I wouldn't have blinked an eye 6 months ago :)

A clear explanation of "cancel culture", with examples.
For those who, like me, didn't attend that meeting where it was explained LOL

Glad you said that, anonamom. I was worried, too, but felt unqualified to comment on that.

Going Keto is easy.

Step #1) Go to the store and buy 5 pounds of the best thick sliced smoked bacon they have.

Step #2) Fry a bunch.

Step #3) Substitute for Snickers:)

Lot of really sick, morally corrupt people out there.

LOL Buckeye. We are headed to the county fair tonight, so I get to drool over all the deep fried snickers, oreos, cotton candy and chocolate coated bacon.

Actually, I don't really eat that much "sugar," it's potatoes that probably have my numbers so screwed up. We eat out so often, that fries and baked taters or rice is usually in the mix nightly. And my recent addiction to morning biscuits with bacon and eggs as a lazy way to eat breakfast instead of making a plate without the biscuit delivery system. It was so much easier to run to Chick-fil-A and grab a weeks worth of those and just nuke em each morning than to actually do the cooking daily.

an endocrinology appt is hard to get. Many are not taking new patients and my kid with hashimotos books hers 9-12 months out.

Assume you do have a problem and start thinking about who is taking patients and what the lead time will be. The inadequate # of these specialists can have internists doing it even though they may be missing some necessary info

Jim Eagle

Come to Southampton, Steph. Appts within a week. Just asked my neighbor who is an endicronligist (sp?). Of course the cheapest hotel room is $500+.

“Actually, I don't really eat that much "sugar," it's potatoes that probably have my numbers so screwed up.”

Take this for what it’s worth (not much) but potatoes, or even Snickers, should not result in blood sugar readings of 1000. Something ain’t right, and you should be aggressive about seeing a specialist. In the meantime, speaking as a layman, no sugar or starches.

Captain Hate

Have we had the Walt Kelly as Immanuel Kant song and dance yet? That's always entertaining.

Jim sc, agree your 3:59 is fascinating---and I am going to take that lack of turnout for McCready (McGreedy, as he was referred to in the attack ads) as a very good sign in that "majority minority" county.

MAGA/Trump economy appeals to all skin colors!

Steph, there are a few other, far less common endocrine conditions that cause blood sugars to be high besides diabetes, but keeping your carbs way down--20 a day-- should pretty quickly get your blood sugars down.
Sadly, biscuits and the potatoes I too adore are basically sugar to the body.

Have you been feeling overall kinda crappy, in general? Fatigued?
Peeing a lot???

This is for the student who made a homemade UT sign and pinned it on the front of his shirt and then was bullied for it.

The team brought him a bunch of stuff last week; now he is getting free tuition!

Oh and norma desmond still thinks mccready won.

Well i would phrase it differently rand has relied on outfits like alkarama which have islamist ties (funded by the qatari royal family) when challenging the drone strikes against awlaki for instance, who was a guest of the pentagon in the weeks after 9/11

PowerLine weighs in on the NC special election.
Though McR ran weaker with minorities, he improved in Mecklenburg which is apparently affluent and white.
Remember this Dem ran in this district in the '18 midterm and came close.
This loss is a good result for the GOP

A-mom asks Steph: "Have you been feeling overall kinda crappy, in general?"

Steph's original msg, as I recall, is that she saw a doc cause she was feeling poorly. I don't recall the symptoms though
