The WaPo wraps up the big Dem debate.
Julian Castro tried for a break-out Kamala Harris moment by going after Joe Biden and ended up with egg on his face. This won't help his bid to be someone's VP and put Texas in play but Rude, Loud and Wrong should get him a gig on MSNBC.
Beto promised to Grab All The Guns but his party won't be in-line skating behind him. Even Democrats have figured out that its a bad idea if their Presidential candidates are running on a platform that picks up votes in CA and NY but hurts them in PA, MI, WI, FL, and more. Blame the Electoral College!

Melinda,
That extended ski season in Australia is a harbinger for Northern Hemisphere winter approaching.
I hope my daughter gets this job she interviewed for today, as she can ride the new bus system downtown. The only trouble we would have is that in inclement weather I would have to drive her to the stop, but it's only 6 blocks.
MUCH better than trying to drive through snow or ice, plus she wouldn't have to pay for parking.

Hey, that UAW guy arrested for embezzlement made me think.
How much of that embezzled money went to the DNC?
It seems to me that the Planned Parenthood decision also keeps another pot of money out of democrat coffers.
I wonder how much of this is happening and we aren't paying attention. Trump also tweeted the huge amount of money illegal immigration and bad trade deals cost us.
I wonder if Mnuchin has been wearing a green eye shade and looking at the books.
I SO enjoy watching this administration!

In "transparency" I'd get rid of all the "sin" taxes too.

Trump's still going to run an ad with Beto's quote, over and over again.
It's the perfect wedge issue. Because then the Dem nominee either has to ignore it (which lets the GOP grab all the gun voters) or challenge it.
Trump's response: "Do you reject what Beto said?"
If they clearly reject what Beto said, the base goes ballistic. If they don't, then the gun voters go GOP.
Win, win
Same goes with all the nutso quotes from the "Climate Change Debate." Run quote after quote in ads. "This is the Democrats."
"But, those people aren't the nominee!"
"So, do you reject their position?"
Their base isn't desperate enough to reject those positions, or to support politicians who explicitly reject those positions. Not in 2020.
Maybe in 2026, during Pence's first term, the Democrat base will get desperate enough to win that they'll be willing to bring back the DLC. But not next year.
Anything short of "Beto was wrong, it's perfectly acceptable to own an AR-15, and I will not support any efforts to take them away from owners" is an admission that Beto is telling the truth about the Democrats position.
That is going to make a smoking hot ad

She may be an obnoxious jerk
She's not even. She said:
I am pleading guilty to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney's Office.
I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.
I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.
My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her. This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life. My desire to help my daughter is no excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty.
If that's not a sincere and non-obnoxious apology, it certainly gets an A for effort. Now the other actress, the Aunt Becky one, not only said "Anyone who could afford to do this would", but she pled not guilty and is trying to play the world's biggest victim. AFAIC, Aunt Becky should get 10 years, Felicity Huffman (who, as I understand it, only faces a month in jail anyway) can pad around her house until curfew is over.

Cool case described by the Pacific Legal Foundation here:
https://fedsoc.org/commentary/podcasts/explainer-4-offensive-license-plates
A guy who is a big soccer fan wanted vanity plates to read COYW. This is the slogan of his team. The team wears white shirts and the slogan is "Come On, You Whites". This was denied by the DMV. They deny a lot of stuff and the rules are fairly arbitrary. It's a case of needing to fit in with THEIR idea of community-conformity.
To be fair, the DMV wants to deny any plate that ref'ed a color (example: ZIN RED was denied to a red Zinfandel wine lover). Besides racial stuff, they also worry that gang colors could lead to outbreaks of violence.
But ask yourself: out of a thousand people, how many would notice and take offense at COYW? Our tax dollars, being spent ....

i'm taking some high-priced Superfoods that are backed by some science that has worked for me.
they not only revitalize my red blood cell producing capacity, these provide the mineral complex that is essential to electrolyte balance.
one is a capsule-based formula. "Balance of Nature". the other is a green powder "Grown in America Superfood Organic". it is a great tasting formula that will have you craving it.
the science behind these two products is legit and the organic/non-gmo certification is important in keeping the toxic load from fruits and vegetables fresh to a minimum (you never know where fresh actually comes from these days).
i've been on both for 14 days now. clears brain fog and cuts cravings.
i have a 3rd formula which is a mix of Gundry's red and green supplements, a vanilla flavored plant protein meal replacement shake and a dehydrated green juice powder.....mix with fresh blueberries. i only need one solid meal per day.
no cravings.
the Himalayan salt is the ticket for getting a good band of mineral-base for electrolyte if you want an alternative to "waters."

Thanks Kev! I switched to Pink Himalaya salt a while back and love it. Ordered the Balance of Nature and will add others in short order.
Restocking the kitchen with diabetic friendly staples costs a crap ton of $$. Eurithrytol(sp) almond flour, carb quick, coconut flour, etc. Plus the tupperware to store them in (this IS the south, so I prefer my food intake w/o additional protein IYKWIM ). Just Dayum!
All readings yesterday and today were below 350 so getting better!

With that thread, if that isn't ultimately Huawei, I'll eat my hat.
Unsalted, even!

jim nj--I am concerned with ARTERIAL blood flow problems with the symptoms you describe, not venous. Which is EXTREMELY common in long-time smokers. Peripheral vascular disease.
You do NOT need venous ultrasound to evaluate this, which may be why it is denied, but ultrasound of femoral arteries, or doppler flow studies. I am concerned you are not getting enough blood flowing to your legs when you increase the amount of muscle oxygen consumption.
And yes, sometimes spinal stenosis is the cause too.
I don't think it's a some trace mineral problem, but a plumbing problem. And God bless vitamin C if all you need to do is take 5000mg a day to ream them open again! You may get diarrhea from that dose. if you do, just cut back to half, then increase.

Some of you know I grew up as an Air Force brat for 3 years in Newfoundland and I can say is that is all I ever wanted to be - a Mountie!
The uniform alone and couple that with an 8 team dog sled?
Remember, they always get their man.
Our local Mountie in Stephensville rode a damn horse and would come to our school to remind us to be good citizens because if you deviate “I’ll find you and jail you, eh?”

This article has a lot of details on his PhD thesis. I don't understand them, because they all have to do with cyber-security.

Jack,
I didn't know that! We used to sit and watch Sgt. Preston of the Yukon every Saturday! We also loved the dog sled and King!
I see that the guy was NOT a Mountie but a civilian apparently appointed by Justin of Canada.
