Greenpeace and other eco-warriors elsewhere in the news.

It is an oddity of climate science, which I reject in it's current form, is that some part of the warming may actually be due to human intervention.

Air pollution in the US has declined dramatically over the last 50 years. That means a lot less particulate matter in the air known as "aerosols."

How many of you have read of attempts to reduce global warming by injecting stuff into the atmosphere to reduce "global warming?" most of you, right?

Yet we spent decades and billions to clean up the air. So if "aerosols" and particular matter block the evil Sun's rays did we induce warming by cleaning up the air?

Is Los Angeles hotter because it no longer is covered by permanent smog?

China to exempt U.S. pork, soybeans from additional tariffs: Xinhua

Very hard to parse the language of the Chines announcement. No "extra tariffs."

“China supports relevant enterprises buying certain amounts of soybeans, pork and other agricultural products from today in accordance with market principles and WTO rules,” Xinhua said, adding that the Customs Tariff Commission of China’s State Council would exclude additional tariffs on those items."

WTO rules? Does that mean with lower tariffs?

China could use some pork products right about now.

Buckeye,

Great minds.

Steph! Montan~a Majica it is! The thick blood is easily thinned with 64 oz minimum fresh water daily intake. Lowers blood pressure too. Neat trick. Excessive urination is the body's mechanism for dumping glucose--- but it forces you to lose minerals and electrolytes fast, contributing to low energy syndrom. Himalayan salt--- one table to 2oz water to make a dropper solution to add to each glass of water or container of that you drink. A couple of drops. High mineral salt---- not like the iodized powder salt so use it without fear.

God Bless You!

jim nj: 5000 mg of eMergenC soluble vitamin C every night will eradicate that leg pain. sonograms are a good screen for blocks but the hedge is scrubbing the vascular system with the ascorbic acid. "High cholesterol" numbers are a preoccupation that mask the daily "plastering" the body does at night on the walls of the vascular system to repair wear and tear. upping the ascorbic acid supply at night gives the body its preferred source for vascular repair. proteolytic enzymes are good scrubbers too...my vascular system is clog and plaque free after 3 years of dedicated use of both PE's and the 5000 mg.

take it to the bank, baby. thanks for the good wishes and kind words.

i watched a few minutes of the Dems chit show last night. Kamala Harris needs to wash her face, brush her hair, and wash her clothes. She looks like she's trying to be in solidarity with the chitting masses on the streets of San Francisco. What a clownish hump.

BootieChimp seems to have taken a page out of Mike Dukakis' How 2 Look Like a Dweeb playbook. I'm waiting for him to dawn the tanker helmet. Putz.

Corey Booker is a boar's tit.

Re The Hill's email stunt: I think it's part of Team Hill testing the water (or, since it's the Dem primary race, the slime) for another run. I think it's a pretty slick way to deal with the email issue, namely, to make light of it. And if you're The Hill, why not? Biden's going to sputter out, as his POTUS campaigns always do, no matter what his age. Comrade Sanders's best chance was 2016, when the Dems rigged the process for The Hill. Squaw Liz looks the strongest, but hardly unbeatable. The Hill's best shot would be a convention in which noone is close to the 50% plus 1, but that's unlikely. It it happens, however, the back and front stabbing between Cuomo's and Clinton's forces will be a hoot to watch.

From what people describe, it sounds like a cookie problem.

I use Firefox and don't have the option set to delete cookies when I leave Firefox.

I can re-boot Windows 10, restore the Firefox session and I am still logged into JOM.

I regularly use the Firefox menu, click on options, then the privacy & security tab, page down to Cookies and site data and use the manage data button to delete individual cookies. Usually Bloomberg, the NYT, Wapo, and other sites that limit viewership via cookie counts.

Sometimes the manage data takes a while to index everything so it's a good idea to leave that page open when browsing.

Whatever browser you are using you should explore all of the options available. Firefox gives me the ability to block tracking cookies and other stuff.

The store music was Mexican elevator music. I complained.

You said, "Misfits now, dammit!"?

TM, for some reason, is married to the idea that the government is owed a higher cut of the earnings we manage to eke out. All Dem taxation plans (and all taxation plans are Dem plans start out targeting the "rich" but end up taxing everyone - the rich don't have enough to fuel the gov't expansion. These types of changes to the tax code would just encourage people to park money where they don't suffer the tax burden and administrative headaches - buy all tax-free munis, for instance, which don't involve capital gains or losses if held to maturity (and, if AMT rates are boosted to counter that, then some other asset that falls through the IRS' cracks).

How about less spending at the federal level, more responsibility at the state level, and a recognition that taxpayers start yelling "don't tread on me" pretty quickly when messed with. New "revenue streams" are inevitably met with the election of new office-holders who have promised to undo the damage.

As Jimnj points out unrelaized gains are called that because they are "unreal".
As the old saw says; if you want more of something subsidize it, if you want less of something tax it. In this case it won't just be wealth per se but the investment vehicle that produces the most wealth and economic activity. It's difficult to think of a stupider idea, especially when we have the recurrent examples of raising and lowering the simple capital gains tax. Make it a nightmarish cf of accounting and records and the damage will be immense.
What some dumb bitch like Warren thinks happens with a wealth tax is the government gets a bunch of revenue. Being an imbecile she doesn't realize wealth is the opposite of energy; it can be both created and destroyed. In the long run the government gets less because wealth is destroyed or disappears or is converted so that the wealthy are somewhat poorer but the poor and middle class are no better off. Government goldbricks get a little more but mostly what happens is the country as a whole is less wealthy.
Mission accomplished.

People who are in no way affected have standing to sue the President for something he isn't even doing, according to one Federal court.

Sorry, MJW, but there are peculiar moments in history when it does. We are living in one of those moments when a significant number of people, for instance, think skinning a penis and turning it inside out makes it a vagina and that it is then reasonable for inverted-penis-man to have pap smears to screen for cervical cancer.
Millions of people believe the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed by a tyrannical federal government, means the tyrannical federal government has the right and sacred duty to forcibly confiscate those arms.
And millions will defend to their last inhuman, irrational breath that a nine month old fetus is not a human life and that if it survives an abortion it should be stuffed in a closet to die alone, leaving one to wonder what it is they just killed.

In such an atmosphere the arcana of tax policy means any taxable dog can have as many limbs as can be imagined by the magical thinkers among us.
