From Forbes, 2014:

Well placed sources long ago disclosed to me that there were eight members of the Senate and House of Representatives who knew precisely what we were doing in Benghazi—conducting a covert, ‘off-the-books’ action designed to assist in getting weapons collected in Libya to our Syrian allies who were combatting the Assad regime. Not only did these eight people know what we were doing, they had approved our going forward in that mission.

Here is that “gang of eight”:

John Boehner (R), Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi (D), House Minority Leader, Harry Reid (D), Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R), Senate Minority Leader, Mike Rogers (R), Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,Dianne Feinstein (D), Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence,Dutch Ruppersberger (D), Ranking Minority Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and Saxby Chambliss (R), Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence

As you can see, there are four Democrats and four very important Republicans who were read in on this operation and had given their approval.

there has to be some legit reason that AG Barr is not dropping Flynn's case and clearing Flynn of any wrongdoing.

Why does there have to be?

SPENGLER: It’s Time for Every American Patriot to Rally Around Trump: The American Republic Is at Stake. “For the record, I don’t care whether there was quid pro quo with Ukraine or not. If President Trump used military aid as a bargaining chip to persuade the government of Ukraine to investigate foreign subversion of our political system, he was doing his job as commander-in-chief to protect this country from its external enemies. The parade of striped-pants cookie-pushers from the State Department feeding information to closed-door Democratic Party kangaroo courts in the House of Representatives is irrelevant. Trump is fighting a mutiny by the U.S. intelligence community. If the mutineers succeed, it will be the end of the republic. James D, to answer your question about why NYC saddled itself with a corrupt, lazy idiot like DeBlasio: 75% of NYCers are instinctive liberal D voters, so it takes a crisis, plus a compelling alternative, to get them to wake up. In the early 90s there were 2200 homicides/year and the the Crown Heights riots under Dinkins. Giuliani was the obvious choice. Then in 2002 we were coming off 9/11, and Bloomberg pretending to be Republican was similarly compelling against a mushy lib.

Since then the city has boomed (or had, since it's not booming any more), so everyone's complacent and the Rs can't come up with a candidate that has any charisma or message. With jobs leaving the city, real estate values flat or dropping, homeless everywhere, a Trump-like R candidate for mayor could win. But I don't see one on the horizon.

From an email:

THE SALTY SAILOR and the FIREMAN

This is a Comment from KAREN VAUGHN, Mother of Aaron Vaughn, Navy Seal.

Sometimes God uses the no-nonsense, salty sailor to get the job done. Appreciating what the man is doing doesn't mean we worship the salty sailor or even desire to be like the salty sailor. It doesn't even mean God admires the salty sailor. Maybe He just knows he's necessary for such a time as this.

I believe with all my heart that God placed that salty sailor in the White House to give this nation one more chance in November 2016. Donald Trump is what he is – and he is still the man he was before the election – and without guilt. I very much admire what that salty sailor is accomplishing.

He's not like me. That's okay with me I don't want to be like him. I will never behave like him. I know we've NEVER had a man like him lead our nation before. It's crazy and a little mind blowing at times. But I can't help admire the stamina and ability he has – acting with his heart rather than a calculated, PC, think tank-screened, carefully edited script. I still believe that is WHY he became our President and WHY he's been able to handle a landslide of adversity and STILL pass unprecedented amounts of good legislation for our country AND do great works for MANY other nations, including Israel.

I'm THRILLED with what he's doing for my nation, for the cause of Christ (whether intentional or unintentional, doesn't matter to me), and for the concept of rebuilding America and putting her FIRST. I will not be ashamed of my position because others don't see him through the same lens.

Should it matter to me if a fireman drops an f-bomb while he's pulling me from a burning building? Would I really care about what came out of his mouth in those moments? Heck no! I'd CARE about what he was DOING. He wasn't sent there to save my soul and I'm not looking to him for spiritual guidance. All I'm thinking in those moments is, "Thank you, GOD, for sending the fireman." AND DONALD TRUMP IS OUR FIREMAN.

I'll soon post this article again for those who still might not understand me. This man is crass Okay. He's not careful with what he says. Okay. You feel offended that he's not a typical statesman. Okay. But he is DOING THE JOB of rebuilding the nation my son died for... the nation I feared was on a fast track to becoming a hopeless cause.
Forgive me if I'm smiling."

I believe you are mistaken if you believe Page's FISA warrant was used to listen to Flynn's phone call with the Russian ambassador.

It was widely discussed at the time that Flynn had to know his phone call with the Russian ambassador was being monitored because the NSA can legally listen in to any calls made by foreign entities without a FISA warrant (or something to that effect). Flynn's knowledge that he knew his phone call was being monitored is one of the basic premises behind the theory Flynn was running a sting operation.

I hear on the radio that Nancy Pelosi doesn't want a voice vote on her so-called impeachment resolution. She wants the vote to be tallied electronically. So, if we want to know how the democrats voted, we'd have to ask each of them and take them at their word.

On something as important as this vote, secrecy should not be allowed. If she gets away with this, it should be assumed that every democrat voted in favor of her impeachment resolution.

I think it's a given that every Democrat will, and probably some Republicans as well (since it's being portrayed as just a benign indication that an investigation should ensue, not a up or down vote on a desire to impeach).

I could be wrong, but I think that's backward. I think a voice vote is when they all shout at once Aye! or No! and the chair determines which there are more of. An electronic vote records how each member voted. The Senate uses roll-call, where each member individually states his or her vote, but that's probably not practical for the larger House.

FWIW, here's that article I mentioned earlier, which claims Trump can run again even if removed from office. It mentions the objection raised by some here:
A president removed from office does not have to be barred from holding future office. This new NCAA policy allowing student athletes to get paid via endorsement money is going to have some unforeseen consequences, especially when it comes to basketball. I'll use Alabama and Auburn as examples. Alabama has a contract with Nike to provide all their sports apparel for all sports. Auburn has a contract with Under Armour. When it comes to recruiting, Bama will now be able to offer the recruit future Nike endorsements while Auburn can offer them Under Armour endorsement. A quick Google search shows Nike's annual revenue at $36.4 billion while Under Armour is $1.4 billion. Which school has the recruiting advantage when it comes to the amount of money they will likely be able to offer via commerical endorsements?

When it comes to basketball recruiting, it has been corrupted by the sports apparel industry for a long time. Nike, UA, Reebok, Adidas etc all sponsor AAU basketball organizations. AAU coaches get a lot of money to steer their high school players to universities whose sports apparel contract is with the same company sponsoring the AAU team. In other words, a high school basketball recruit who plays for a Nike sponsored AAU team will only be allowed to sign with a school affiliated with Nike. This new NCAA policy means that for elite basketball recruits their endorsement options will start long before they enter college.

Margot Cleveland:Powell requested “any information, including recordings or 302s, about Joseph Mifsud’s presence and involvement in engaging or reporting on Mr. Flynn and Mifsud’s presence at the Russia Today dinner in Moscow on December 17, 2015.”

It was at that dinner gathering that Flynn met Vladimir Putin. (A photograph capturing the two at that event has been used to further the Flynn-is-a-Russian-agent narrative.) Powell’s court filing is the first we are learning that Mifsud also attended that gathering—a strange coincidence given the FBI’s claim that it launched its investigation into the Trump campaign upon learning that Mifsud had informed the young Trump advisor George Papadopoulos that the Russians had dirt on Hillary.

clarice

Fox news:“This information is material, exculpatory, and relevant to the defense of Mr. Flynn,” Powell wrote in the court filing.

She claimed the phones could contain specific information related to Western intelligence being “tasked against [Flynn] likely as early as 2014 to arrange – unbeknownst to him – ‘connections’ with certain Russians that they would then use against him in their false claims.”

This Nov. 12, 2014 photo made available by the Organization of American States shows Maltese academic Joseph Mifsud during a meeting in Washington. It was Mifsud who allegedly dropped the first hint that the Russians were interfering into the 2016 U.S. presidential election and he has not been seen publicly for nearly a year. An Associated Press investigation published Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, shows it isn’t the first time Mifsud has gone to ground. (Juan Manuel Herrera/OAS via AP)

Washington Examiner:Sidney Powell, who took over Flynn’s legal defense a couple months ago, asked U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan, the presiding judge in the D.C. District Court case, to order the Justice Department to produce the “data and metadata” related to the two devices, according to a Tuesday court filing.

The phones were obtained by the Justice Department “very recently," Powell told the Washington Examiner, adding that Flynn's defense team requested this information from DOJ prosecutors Brandon Van Grack and Jocelyn Ballantine on Friday by email but have not received it.

Onetime Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos identified Mifsud as the man who told him in 2016 the Russians had "dirt" about Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of emails, effectively setting in motion what would become the Russia investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller. Mifsud has denied telling Papadopoulos anything about Russian "dirt." He has long been suspected of having ties to Russia, but Republican investigators such as California Rep. Devin Nunes have alleged he was cooperating with Western intelligence to undermine Trump.

Tom R, I received free shoes as a D1 athlete. (Nike, which had spotty quality in soccer shoes at the time). When we were ESPN game of the week, Nike had a guy paint the stripes on my Adidas black, the glued a Nike gash (or whatever they call it) on them. The next year I cut all logos off all my shoes (including the brand new Nikes for that year). Our uniforms were Umbro. (Yale is now UnderArmor).

All I know is I got one decent pair of shoes (Adidas) and three crappy pairs. the coach got cash. (Adidas under the coach who recruited me, Nike under the jerk that replaced him).
