What say you, @facebook?
jack đđđ @jack
Weâve made the decision to stop all political advertising on Twitter globally. We believe political message reach should be earned, not bought. Why? A few reasonsâŠđ§”
This isn't the out Twitter thinks it is. Because now of course the question shifts to: what it "political"?
The tweet referred to "political message reach" being "earned, not bought." That only makes sense if he's talking about paid advertising. I don't see how it could be talking about political tweets in general. That would just be an excuse to censor more tweets he doesn't like, such as Trump's.
Dorsey is another guy who developed an algorithms without any understanding of personal culture. Much like the Facebook kids. It will eventually collapse them since they donât understand competition that is coming.
Did Gates ever see Jobs on the horizon? I donât think so.
Link goes to a screen cap of the National Fraternal Order of Police president on the organizations support of due process, "from the homeless on the street to the President in the White House."
"The Democrats have been on this path for 3 years. The first headline I saw...before the President was sworn in was that the Impeachment process was beginning...so this is just further evidence that this is what they had in mind from the very beginning." @senatemajldrpic.twitter.com/scFWSh47Bq
My guess is that on twitter, like Instagram and Facebook, you can pay to "boost" a post. Normally, it shows up as "sponsored" on Instagram. It's a good way to override the algorithms and increase exposure.
Now, I'm assuming that they see this as a way to limit Trump's reach on twitter because I think they've been stymied by how to fix that problem.
My guess is that on twitter, like Instagram and Facebook, you can pay to "boost" a post.
I think that's right, but I don't see how they stop faux "public service" or 501c3s from doing this. So OFA will have no problem, nor will labor unions.
The anti-Trump "whistleblower" at the center of Democratic impeachment efforts worked with a DNC official who sought dirt on Trump from Ukrainian officials during the 2016 election.
As another example, I see this group @ATTN that pretends to be neutral but seems to be a front for liberal ideas. They just pushed a video by Obama pretending to be a wise voice of reason, which managed (not too hard) to take in Althouse.
A comment from Althouse and precisely what I see happening in the progressive conversations around here:
"Why do the Democrats want a candidate who advocates our acting as the world's police and overthrowing governments we don't like?"
They want a candidate who beats Trump. They don't care about overthrowing governments or not. As the Universal Theory of Progressive Instrumentalism implies, their "ideas" are tools: strictly to be used in the quest for power, entirely discardable. Since Trump in effect coopted some of their old notions (no more crazy wars! fair, not free trade!), Dems have been reduced to changing what they believed, especially what the left believed, professed to believe, until the day before yesterday.
Their hatred of Trump and of us is stronger than any ideological conviction.
I was just thinking this morning about the videos of Democrats saying for years what Trump said about immigration and nobody batting an eye until...TRUMP. There is no reasoning with these people. They truly are TWANLOCs.
"RealClearInvestigations is disclosing the name because of the publicâs interest in learning details of an effort to remove a sitting president from office. Further, the official's status as a âwhistleblowerâ is complicated by his being a hearsay reporter of accusations against the president, one who has âsome indicia of an arguable political bias ⊠in favor of a rival political candidate" -- as the Intelligence Community Inspector General phrased it circumspectly in originally fielding his complaint."
