The elite has its place. Every natural human system has a hierarchy. It's about how you build that hierarchy. Ours was supposed to be based on merit - the competent rise and the extremely competent become elite.

It has failed. Our elites are incompetent buffoons with the trappings of elitism but none of its substance. I don't think Trump can really fix it, though he seems to be trying through exposing it to sunlight. The "meritocracy without merit" (as Tucker calls it) has been exposed. Whether it is replaced - and if the replacement is any better - is very much an open question. The current elite and their hangers-on just want an old European-style aristocracy - an elite with no qualifications at all.

Saturday afternoon the girls checked out some craft shops while the boys did a pub crawl.

All of this was going on in Loveland which has become extremely gentrified.

We did a couple of craft beer bars before hitting the place with a huge Bourbon collection.

The girls met us there and then had dinner at some swanky place. I don't remember much of dinner, probably because of the Bourbon tasting extravaganza.

Got the low down an why my niece told Case to shove it after 3 weeks.

She realized very quickly that she was there as their token white female genius, and life was too short for that.
