This Sondland testimony doesn't sound as bad as the headline but its not helpful for Trump.
And another brutal poll, this time from Gallup, showing a slim majority in favor of "Impeach/Remove". The increase is driven by Democrats and Independents, but still.
Tk, I haven't chatted with you for a long while.
You are so much an integral part of this blog, as to be a "lifer". AGAIN, you and I had skirmishes, but I've come to value your intellect, your STRENGTH and STUBBORN-NESS, and your cheeky-ness.
There are numerous peeps, who have moved on, died, disappeared, or even gone to the dark side. I know a lot of people still follow Jeff, and maybe keep in touch. The problems with the PLATFORM here have been epic, and have weeded out TROLLS or more-so, made it more difficult to be a TROLL on purpose. That said.....I am very glad you are here and still full of piss and vinegar.
I've come to realize that, the intellectual back and forth is why I've stayed here for so many years.

Hey GUS, when I was about 14 the kid down the road got a '66 fastback. His parents were a 'no tv' house so he hung out with us all the time and we were fast friends.
I think his Dad felt a little bad about the 'no tv' rule and compensated by providing he and his little bro with anything with a motor. Especially dirtbikes.
When he bought Frank the '66, his Dad sent the car to Indy where it got a brilliant blue metallic finish. It then went to a shop where the 289 engine was 'balanced and blue printed'.
As soon as it got home, it got jacked up and aftermarket wheels and tires.
It was a shiny beast that was the envy of Washington High School.
Coming home from the county fair one night Frank opened it up. Even the slightest rise in the caused a sensation of flying as he pegged the speedometer at 140 mph. I was in the front passenger seat (no seat belts) holding on to seat and thinking 'Shitttt!!!'. Suddenly, already bent back to about 30 degrees, it snapped off and flew into oblivion.
Scared shitless, I was barely able to stammer out 'Frank! Shut her down!!'
I don't know if we hit 140 or not but I'm sure it's the fastest speed I've ever hit in a land vehicle.
I've been a Mustang fan ever since. I was thinking a Roush tell I ran into the Revology site.
I'm picking up what you're putting down on the RESERVE thing for college costs. It'd be sweet to take a cruise around town in that before that happens!

matt,
All you have to do is look at the rally crowds for Trump and know that the general public isn't buying it.
One of the reasons I watch the RSBN live feeds of the rallies is that they interview people in line and most of them are as well-informed as we are here. People have wised up to the media.
My sister who is a retired teacher, who isn't much of a computer geek, has started following people on Facebook who post news from alternative sources. My sister the nurse is on Twitter and watches Tucker Carlson and Hannity. She has loved Trump since she saw him climb over highway ditches and barricades in California to get in a back door after the democrats blocked the main entrance, back during the primaries.
If the democrats try to move forward with impeachment I think at least a million people will show up in DC, and a lot will be armed.

Bubarooni, I'm a MUSTANG lover since H.S.. I've owned 2. I had a 70' Boss 302, convertible, LOTS of BONDO. I was a kid, and I had the $1300, that my Bar Softball team-mate, whose DAD owned a used car lot-required. CHICK MAGNET. Yellow, racing striped hood.....NEW black rag top, new rag top motor. Again, MUCHO BONDO....Again.....chick and COP magnet. I got hit near my parents home, by someone who crossed the center line at 1 a.m. on a Friday night. I was prolly, a Senior in college. I was probably drunk, but the dude that hit me SURE WAS. The headlight switch, ripped my knee cap flesh wide open, and that is my SOUVENIER. $1300. Nice Boss 302, that replaced the original BLOWN HEAD GASKET DESTROYED MOTOR.
Cheap labor from a gear head pal. THOSE WERE THE DAYS.

Maryrose,
I was unaware of the motorized wheelchair because I don't have cable and get everything from clips on Twitter and web sites.
I discussed this with a friend of mine who has retired from a hospital cancer registry, and her opinion is that a lot of people with poor hearts, bad hips, bad knees, etc. used those wheelchairs or walkers and the absence of discussion of his health until he died was a little iffy.
I will admit I cannot see everything pertinent, and maybe he was in poor health which was kept under wraps because of the impeachment charade, but for people he represented his lack of ability to participate in Congressional activities should have been publicized, rather than keeping it quiet.

Mensa member Alyssa Milano thinks Tulsi is unfit to be president because she objected to Hillary's quite insane calumny that Gabbard is a Putin stooge/plant.
Most of the progs join in.
I would like to add that Gabbard is no moderate. She is merely an attractive Menshevik to the Dem mainstream Bolsheviks.
Relative to AOC she is slightly more moderate. Relative to JFK she's a flaming, Marcusian communist.

I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. There was literally a 'car culture' that kids engaged in.
It was all about cruising town and the cooler your car, the more cred you had.
I had a 1977 Olds 442. Candy Apple Red with white stripes. Keystone Raider wheels with BF Goodrich T/A Radials. The back tires were LR50's, at the time the widest production radial tires in the world. I had a Craig Road Rated Receiver stereo with matched speakers. Oh yeah... I had a CB radio too.
I worked my azz off at grocery store bagging grocery's and taking them to the customers car to afford it.
I remember running home at lunch during high school and spraying down the wheels with Windex and wiping them down so they would shine more as I cruised around the school at the end of lunch break.
My kids, they're into xbox controllers and netflix.
'car culture', I don't see it these days.
I just dont get it...

After owning 2 Shelbys, getting to know the man and his history I have to say he was one of America's great conmen.
Remember the Shelny Omni? The Shelby Dakota? The CSX? He built some really good cars but he built some stinkers as well. He was disliked by a lot of folks in the industry. I think the movie tries to step away from him and focus on his engineers and drivers.
Where I had an issue was that I had a racing Terlingua (1 of, supercharged 6 cal - 350HP) and apparently all Mustangs have the same rear end they put in them in 1964.
I found that out the hard way when I hit some oil on a track one day. $40K later the car was as it should have been. LSD, better roll cage, full spare mounted in the rear compartment. Then I sold the damn thing. But after those and the rental Mustangs, I really appreciated the Germans.Carroll Shelby was a big guy, but Mustangs are cramped.
I am really looking forward to the movie, though.
It was a squirrely car unlike others I have had.

Tulsi Gabbard is the worst and most dangerous kind of Dem. Here's why.
She is exactly how we end up sliding ever leftward. Crazy progs set up crazy positions. A Tulsi steps up and says I agree with 90% of your crazy shit but not all of it. Instantly, a broad who was a far left prog a year ago is now a "moderate" and the moderate center is now to the left of the nutjobs from a year before.
And of course sane people grasp after a Tulsi because she's not quite as crazy as the real nutjobs. Progs disown her and say she's just a Republican in Dem clothes and pretty soon Reps are claiming her as their own.
That process has to stop if we wish to avoid or delay having to shoot our neighbors.

Traded mine in in '14 for the Escape, and the hubs traded his last year for a F-150. One of the salesmen at the dealership bought his.
Plus, in Georgia, there are about 3 days of legit convertible weather, and other than those you are either in a blast furnace or artic blast. It was interesting driving top down with the heat on full blast in the late fall/early spring, though.

That process has to stop if we wish to avoid or delay having to shoot our neighbors.
Iggy, I don't have any desire to shoot any of my neighbors.
Some of JamesD's are an entirely different matter.

Darth Cheney was the only Bushite with a pulse.

Well rumsfeld had some of that vigor too.

True. Rummy got a bad rap after the Surge by a lot of sooper jeanyuses who failed to understand that tactics change with conditions on the ground. Initiating the Surge too early could have been a disaster. Rummy did his job very well and won't get any backbiting from me. There were some good discussions of this among the Horde.

I always liked Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Shoot my neighbors?
I have had some neighbors for 40 years.
If I haven’t shot them by now, I probably won’t do so

I'd shoot my neighbors to the immediate north of me if I knew I could get away with it.
