Here we go again. I actually think the beginning of the end of Elizabeth Warren's campaign's end will be marked as yesterday with the release of her progressive fan fiction on Medicare For All.
Paul Krugman has the funniest reaction - serious libs pulled this together, the numbers sort of add up, this will never make it through Congress anyway, so lets talk about something else. Uh huh. I think Biden and Buttigieg will be happy to talk about this. Time will tell.
DO LET ME ADD: Among her revenue raisers is a proposal to adopt a mark-to-market on capital gains for the 1 percenters. She thinks that will raise $2 trillion, which ain't hay. Presumably she is getting a cue from Sen. Wyden, the ranking Dem on the Senate Finance Committee. As a longshot, maybe the Minuteman got results! (Yeah, yeah, this got booed off here and it hardly makes me want to back Warren, but the idea is coming on like a freight train. President Buttigieg will be looking for sock-the-rich revenue ideas, especially Constitutional ones. Of course, that might mean we're safe until 2025...

I love Georgette Heyer's mysteries, but her Regency stuff is just not historically accurate enough for me--great on the diction, the material culture, the settings--just not great enough on the worldview. Just me! I remember annoying MM making this same point years ago! My best friend loves Heyer's historical romances too--it's just a matter of taste. I'll try Frederica and see if I change my mind.

Did you see Jane’s post where she claimed she knew where Nunes got his information? If someone is going to make an assertion like that then it needs to be backed up with factual information or a logic based conclusion. I politely answered Jane’s question yet she never told us where she got that information. I made it clear I think Team Trump was who gave Nunes the information. Jane and anyone else is free to disagree with that but if they aren’t willing to provide their own opinion while attacking mine, then IMO that is messed up.

I think this is an accurate analysis. The Iraqi people are disgusted with their government, but a lot of the violence is Shia on Shia. Those affiliated with Iran vs. those opposed to corruption of any kind.
The Iraqis also seem to be adopting Lebanese tactics. In particular, choking off roads with barriers and burning tires.

Iran-backed Iraq leaders agree on ‘road map’
al-Sistani, the top cleric in Iraq, is backing the protestors. al-Sadr, considered to be Iran-backed, may have slipped his leash for the moment.
I'm beginning to think that if you are an unaligned Iraqi that you don't get to participate and that they see this for themselves.
If you are aligned with a ruling faction you benefit. If you are aligned with the Iranian-backed PMUs you benefit. Different sources of funds. Iraqi in the former, Irani in the latter.

JimNJj, the black cat was the least of the Giants’ problems.
They bring their own bad luck with them. Some other names for “bad luck” are John Mara, Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur.

Hamilton. I think he was the most loyal of Washington's aides, but he had a different perspective on what the economy should be founded upon.
He had little faith in the Jeffersonian ideal of farmer gentry. He believed in banking, finance and manufacture.

Hamilton backed SUM. It took a while, but Patterson became an industrial powerhouse.
North of Patterson many New England streams were dammed and became manufacturing powers.
While farmer gentry may have been a great ideal, the power of the US arose from manufacturing.
Shipping raw materials overseas would have left us as a mere colony. Producing our own goods created a new power.
I've have been a Hamilton fan for a long time. I wish he would have lived a lot longer.

James D,
I haven't watched most of the Giants games, but allow me the fantasy that a black cat did them in.
I can't handle the truth.
I'm not a Jets fan, but the 1-6 Jets meet the 0-7 Dolphins and lose. They wind up with a tied record?
Another two weeks, or so, and I'll be off my depression meds, but apparently I'll have to keep up my NFL boycott to succeed.
