jimmyk,
Likely two different movies. I didn't watch the hearings, but I read the comments here and went looking for how the media played it.
My sense is the Democrats lost if it was their intention to produce compelling testimony. The media is playing around with it, but there is not a lot to work with yet.
Enough came out of the hearing so that conservative writers don't have to stretch to make their points of failure. MSM got enough to spin it the usual way, but my sense is that the MSM "pre-written" articles had to be dialed back.
Last night I told Barbara not to worry about this and I maintain my position.

You were right! I refused to watch the hearings, but I did check in here at JOM to read the comments. Not only did the Democrats lose the day, the Republicans changed the narrative. A very good day for the President and the country.
I'm encouraged to hear folks share their perspective and links to PeachMint news. Local Fox reported breathy sentences containing the words "Trump" and "impeachment" along with selected 5 second sound bites.
Good for you. My sense in going into this that the rules were so biased that it would be like the Republicans all had one hand tied behind their backs.
Think of this as a preliminary fight, not the championship bout. One-fisted Republicans got in enough blows against the two-fisted Democrats to call this a draw.
On to round two and I think the momentum has already shifted.

Wow! Was just told that my son’s book, “Triggered,” is Number One on The New York Times Bestseller List. Congratulations Don!
Indeed. Brain-addled Democratic boxers up against Republican mixed martial artists.
If the Democrats wanted a fair fight they would have agreed to a a "Marquess of Queensbury" set of rules. They didn't. So it's a "Street fight" where no rules apply.
I am going to be a pain griping about this electric bus system, which is faltering as I predicted. Just posting this here for anyone who wants to follow along with a local boondoggle.
Powerline guys also think that the impeachment farce is to fill the news cycle before the DOJ IG's report is released.
And we haven’t yet gotten to what is surely one of the Democrats’ prime objectives; that is, to use their absurd impeachment drama to minimize news coverage of the DOJ Inspector General’s report that will be released any day now, and John Durham’s report into the corrupt (and perhaps criminal) origins of the plot by the FBI and the CIA against candidate, then President-Elect, then President, Donald Trump. I suspect that the Democrats want, more than anything else, to keep these bombshell revelations off the air. I also suspect that the networks will do their bidding by seizing on the all-important impeachment drama as an excuse to deep-six coverage of these far more significant stories.
Deval Patrick plans to join the race for President? Kamala Harris and Spartacus Booker aren't authentic enough?
I'm sorry if this offends, but Obama was not an "authentic" black American. His mother was white, his father was Kenyan, not American.
Before Obama I always thought the first black president would be a Republican. Colin Powell came to mind, thankfully, considering his later opinions, that was not to be.
At this point, once burned, I don't think a Democratic black candidate for president will ever be viable again.
I could go for Clarence Thomas or Thomas Sowell, but never again a black liberal Democrat.
State officials acknowledge US embassy in Kiev exerted pressure on Ukraine prosecutors not to pursue cases against two government officials who attacked Paul Manafort, a journalist aligned with George Soros and a nonprofit funded by Soros. Anyone see a pattern?
Now that I think about it, the answer is in the article.
One of the first pilot parks will be in Qinghai, a vast region in western China abutting Tibet and sharing much of its cultural legacy. The area also is home to such iconic and threatened species as the snow leopard and Chinese mountain cat, and encompasses the headwaters of three of Asia's great waterways: the Yangtze, Yellow, and Mekong rivers.
Robin, a National Park stakes a big claim on the surroundings. Plus they can import a bunch of Han Chinese to replace Tibetans. As an excuse, you have mountain climbing or skiing.
I follow this guy on Twitter and watch his podcasts because he is surprisingly a fairly middle-line political observer, even though he appears to be a Satanist hippie. He also thinks the democrats are self-imploding.
He also thinks Mayor Pete is not going to be nominated because the inner-city demographic is homophobic. Ge might be moving up in Iowa, but he won't win Chicago.
Taylor testimony damaging, or so says Fox News' Chris Wallace.
Wishful thinking on the part of Chris Wallace. I first recognized Wallace as a NeverTrumper during the first Fox News Sunday program after Trump tweeted about Obama wire tapping him at Trump Tower. Wallace went after some Trump administration guest asking how could Trump say that without any evidence.
"Without any evidence" and variations of that phrase are only ever used when the reporting is about something Trump has said. It's been deployed all over the news nowadays in to contradict the obvious implication that Joe and Hunter Biden engaged in unethical or illegal activities to make a fortune off of Burisma.
Burisma paid millions to the Bidens, ostensibly for Hunter's services on the board of directors, but in reality for the influence Joe could bring in directing billions in foreign aid to Ukraine, some of which would flow to Burisma, and also Joe's power to shield Burisma from criminal investigation -- which he publicly bragged about doing.
So what does it mean when the media, singing in harmony, says there is absolutely no evidence of impropriety on the part of the Bidens? First, it means there are mountains of evidence of corruption that the media have no intention of ever investigating, much less reporting. Second, it sends a signal to anyone in the media who values continued employment, don't go there.

Indeed. Brain-addled Democratic boxers up against Republican mixed martial artists.
If the Democrats wanted a fair fight they would have agreed to a a "Marquess of Queensbury" set of rules. They didn't. So it's a "Street fight" where no rules apply.

Posted by: Robin, eff 'em all | November 14, 2019 at 06:13 AM
Robin, a National Park stakes a big claim on the surroundings. Plus they can import a bunch of Han Chinese to replace Tibetans. As an excuse, you have mountain climbing or skiing.

Just ask Amy Robach or Ashley Bianco.

Great American Thinker article, rse. But then, oddly enough:
Historically, when faced with a Project Veritas video, the firemen reflexively discredited O'Keefe. Without evidence, they would accuse him of doctoring the video, cite his (bogus) arrest record, and, if need be, call him a racist.
I'll be damned. First time I've ever seen our side use that phrase. Maybe I just lead too sheltered a life.

Treatment with NSAID and muscle relaxer has him back to normal. Have to use a harness now when he is on the leash.
