Last week's impeachment hearing were a thrill ride for the talking heads of MSNBC but did the polls move?
We will know more next week when polls pick up the late week hearings but so far the trench warfare continues. From FiveThirtyEight:
We seem to be stuck on a track where the House votes to impeach Trump to placate their base and the Senate votes to acquit ti placate theirs.
Does anyone here know of anyone who has ever bought a new car as a Christmas present for their wife, husband or significant other?

Good afternoon! I mentioned yesterday that the daughter met a friend last night in DC who is chaperoning a group of students from their northern Maine high school. She sent me a picture and they look like two exhausted 40-somethings. :) The daughter, because she traveled this week for work and her friend, because she's chaperoning high school kids. It is a sweet picture, because not only did they attend high school together, they started out in preschool together and both attended Saint Anselm. Life long friends, making time to connect.

I had a blast in shop classes. I had already done things like hammer forge a Bowie knife in a century old blacksmith shop before I started metal shop in 7th grade. My crusty old shop teacher didn’t waste my time filing on blocks of metal, but put me on a lathe to make a fireplace tools kit that was otherwise reserved for a couple 9th graders. In wood shop, I built a gun rack for my long guns and a travel case for taking my Colt six shooter back and forth to MT for my summer cowboying job. Aah, the good ole days.

As discussed, what is being inflicted on Netanyahu is similar (but more advanced as of now) to what the Democrats and the MSM are perpetrating on Trump.

Yes, shop class was fun, but I'm pretty sure I only had it in elementary school. The shop teacher's other role was to administer corporal punishment (remember when that was still allowed in schools?). One of my shop teachers was a former NFL footballer. We were well-behaved.

Most fun ever in shop class? Teacher was sick, so movies. Substitute puts movie on, then goes into the glass enclosed office to nap. Great movie about blast furnaces. So a bold student aimed the projector at his window (blast furnace flames) and hit the fire alarm as we all acted out dying in horrible ways.

Fascinating, JiB. I always enjoy watching people who really know what they are doing when they work.
I had a crew demolish an old collapsing house on my property, and the guy who drove the rig with the big claw was an artist. He could work it from practically any position. He could take the claw down into the rubble of busted lumber and block, hook one corner tine underneath a piece of finger sized copper pipe and extract if from the pile like a single strand of spaghett (maybe not the best metaphor). The was an old tank of heating oil right up against the back of the house, which, unfortunately, the specialists required to empty it out didn't get there in time to do. At the end of the day, the house had completely disappeared, but the oil tank sat there in splendid isolation, without a scratch on it. It was really something to see.

Over the past two years or however long the IG investigation has gone on, there haven't been *any* leaks. Now, only after targeted individuals have had the chance to review their sections, do we finally see the first leak. Obviously that originated with the FBI lawyer theirself. :-) But that doesn't mean there aren't other perps still trying to figure out how to deal with the next two weeks. I bet there are.

I was not pleased with the way that Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher’s trial was handled by the Navy. He was treated very badly but, despite this, was completely exonerated on all major charges. I then restored Eddie’s rank. Likewise, large cost overruns from past administration’s.....
....contracting procedures were not addressed to my satisfaction. Therefore, Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer’s services have been terminated by Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. I thank Richard for his service & commitment. Eddie will retire peacefully with all of the.....

IEDs are terror weapons. It doesn't take bravery like storming up a hill against enemy fire. You're a victim, not a hero. The bravery is signing up for the military and going to the deployment knowing you are exposed to attack.

But really, has there been a single one of these reports and investigations that has been a smashing win for our side? Even the Mueller Report, despite supposedly exonerating the President, left a big you-know-what in the punch bowl. Horowitz himself was a huge letdown in his first report. The idea that the (deep) state would throw any big fish under the bus is more a hope than a real expectation.

jimmyk, Trump didn't know in advance what the Mueller Report would say, so he couldn't predict that it would be a big win. Similarly, he didn't know what Horowitz's first report would say. But he is going way out on a limb to predict that the coming Horowitz report as well as the Durham report will be "historic". That is one of the reasons I am optimistic. I don't think Trump wants to get egg on his face.

MM, I've (sadly) come to believe that lying has become part of the SOP for the FBI. They freak out at recorded interviews because they know their whole, entire approach to an investigation and the court cases would have to change.

Yeah Maxine Waters is right, we need a *hehehehehehehehehehehhe* BRAIN SURGEON, like Hunter Biden for HUD.

Sure Maxine. Only dummies go to Yale then become pediatric brain surgeons. Do the world a favor, when Guam flips over.... be under it.

After eight years of reporting to Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch there's no way the FBI should be trusted. Eastwood's movie might blow their doors off permanently. Good riddance if so.

A-Bob, are your dry shaving me???? Not one of the MOTHER FUCKING TOP MEN at FBI, recognized that 302's were THEIR friend, while video or audio couldn't really be altered???? It's not as if the CORRUPTION just started. Same with the rest of the DEEP STATE. The TOP MEN and WOMEN have learned for several decades how to profit dishonestly.
Remember Jamie Gorelick for example??
