Jonathan Adler, one of The Few, The Proud, the Green Right-wingers, describes a market-oriented agenda to grapple with climate change. He has a companion piece in the LA Times.
This triggers a flashback to my post last August, when Politico and the NY Times were describing an emergence of Green Republicans.
Gee. a market solution to an imaginary problem. aka another excuse to tax.

Politico and the NYT aren't trying to describe a movement. They are trying to create a movement, knowing full well it wouldn't be popular with energy sector workers and would depress enthusiasm for the President.

Adler is a moron, full stop.
We do not need a carbon tax. We do not need mass-scale decarbonization efforts.
Arguing for an unprecedented, unimaginably costly transformation of every aspect of our economy because inaccurate computer models of weather systems science doesn't even begin to fully understand, predict bad things in a hundred years, is mind-blowingly dumb, and I have no interest in listening to anyone who takes it seriously.

Back to "climate change" again.
If you truly believe that theory, and you truly believe it is a crisis, and you truly believe that we must make massive changes in order to save mankind and protect future generations, then YOU GO FIRST.
Stop using any and all fossil fuels, for any purpose.
Stop using anything made of plastic.
Stop flying, whether for business or for pleasure.
Stop driving. Public transportation only, forever.
If your home uses oil or natural gas for heat and cooling, turn off your HVAC system for good. No heat in winter, no A/C in the summer.
Go vegan, immediately.
And also go local. Do not eat anything produced more than 20 miles from your home.
And also, downsize to improve your carbon footprint. Sell your house and move into an 800 sq ft apartment. Actually, don't sell it, because that just increases income inequality, which is also bad, right? Give it away to a local charity serving the homeless.
Do all that, and then I'll consider thinking about the possibility of maybe listening to you on the subject of climate change.
And I certainly include any "green Republicans" and Mr. Adler, and, if he believes this crap, our host here, too, in all of the above.

So they couldn't find enough corroboration over the course of several years to run a story on Epstein (who had already been convicted once for pedophilia when they killed Robach's story in 2016), but they can figure out who leaked the info about them killing the story in, like, 10 minutes flat, and they can get the guy fired from another, rival, company.
I cannot express how much I loathe all of these people.

--Jonathan Adler, one of The Few, The Proud, the Green Right-wingers, describes a market-oriented agenda to grapple with climate change.--
Free markets are a public good and they work.
I'm doubtful a government created "market" is oriented toward "free" and is probably not in any real sense a "market".
And of course there is zero evidence the climate is changing in a way that will be catastrophic or even net harmful.
Linking again Judith Curry's excellent post on the uselessness of climate models for forecasting, predicting or projecting future conditions.
The models are the only "evidence" the IPCC and the CAGW bandleaders have and they're useless. As NASA itself noted not long ago the models would have to improve their modeling of clouds by, I think they said, 1000 fold to be even slightly useful or skillful at forecasting climate. Without the models they have nothing and the models are a collective joke.
Adler and the rest of the fools who choose to first receive their rigged playbook from the left and then set up shop on a playing field so cockeyed they can't even stand up on it are knaves, naifs and knotheads.
Wake up you imbeciles! You're helping them forge our chains, not engaging in an honest debate.

Besides, the pool is 5 feet out the back door and a perfect 82 degrees with the canal another 20 feet beyond that with fishies and manatees and other lovelies to look at and/or eat. Bonus is the Keys are surprisingly Trump country - except for Key West where they continually get hit with the clue x four of stupid government policies. The latest is a new licensing requirement for street performers at the daily Sunset Festival on Mallory Square. The vendor/street performers have almost disappeared since last year and the locals are grousing about it hurting the tourist trade. Well, duh! Kill the quirky attraction and Mallory Square is no longer a destination location.
If this was my permanent abode, I would rig a system so I could sit in the pool and work. The biggest drawback is that pesky water/electricity mashup. Hey! Maybe if I turned progressive, I could defy the laws of nature and not get zapped by the reality of science. LOL

Fabulous analogy at the end of my book:
In 2002 Valerie Plame was outed as tied to the CIA. They blamed Bush, because Wilson had criticized Iraq.
At the start of the FBI investigation, the FBI it knew the leaker was Richard Armitage.
Comey, the deputy AG persuaded John Ashcroft to step down and Patrick Fitzgerald took over as special counsel.
They both knew Armitage was the leaker but decided it was the perfect opportunity to get Dick Cheney. So they targeted his chief of staff, Scooter Libby.
They threatened Libby with indictment if he didn't give up Cheney. Didn't matter that Cheney did nothing, Libby was told he could make something up.
He didn't and went to jail.
Now substitute Fitzgerald for Mueller, and Libby for Flynn. Comey can stay the same.

It’s unclear what reaction he’ll receive on Saturday...
Alabama is the reddest of all red states giving Trump his largest margin of victory in 2016. There is no doubt whatsoever what kind of reaction he will get from the crowd. If there are any SJW Trump haters there booing Trump they will quickly realize how outnumbered they are.
What I am wondering is if Trump is going to leave at halftime like he did for the SEC championship game, which caused him to miss the heroic comeback led by Jalen Hurts. I think he probably left at halftime for security reasons since leaving during the middle of the game means no crowds exiting the stadium. If Trump stays for the end of the game this weekend I can imagine a huge Charlie Foxtrot especially if the Secret Service forces 100K+ fans to stay inside the stadium until Trump's motorcade has safely departed.

IMO this is going to be one of the biggest electoral gifts to any candidate in the history of US presidential elections. In rallies and during the debates Trump is going to be able to keep pointing out the facts of how ABC spiked the story to protect pedophiles and how CBS fired the person who leaked the video exposing the corruption within ABC News.
My hope is that this event becomes a watershed moment that eventually leads to the defeat of the Fake News leftwing media and the beginning of a reform movement to restoring objectivity to the journalism profession.

Apologies for OT diversion from the last thread:
Narciso:
I was really hoping for more from the Spectator piece about what constitutes an impeachable offense. I'm afraid I still think that Gerald Ford was, alas, more right than wrong, when he said, "“An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers [it] to be at a given moment in history.”
Unfortunately, the inclusion of "misdemeanors" in the constitutional language leaves way too much interpretive wiggle room, because it's a much more flexible word than "crimes." From the author:
As individuals, yes, but I found myself wondering if he used the term "officials" in order to avoid more accurately calling the House members "legislators."The idea of natural rights which exist outside and above a legal system is a theoretical, foundational concept, but as Mr. Elliott's attempt to rely on it demonstrates, it's very difficult to plug it into an actual argument over how law works persuasively.
The hypothetical he poses places him more in Ford's camp than his own!
"The people" is probably the most abstract concept, and indeed, hardly a working concept in law at all, despite its constitutional weight. He proceeds on to say:
If that's nonsense, then he has deep-sixed the argument he just finished making above. The Senate trial is held to determine whether the President is guilty of the impeachment charge. If falls to them to determine whether that guilt merits his removal from office, then apparently the law is whatever the Senate says it is! It's interesting that this is the one "legal" process which is explicitly removed from the judicial branch and put into the hands of elected "officials." It's a veritable invitation to politically inspired jury nullification. Could there be a clearer case of the law being whatever they say it is?
The Constitution, of course, has meant whatever the Supreme Court has said it meant, for a long time now. We can argue over whether that is as it should be, but it is hardly "nonsensical" to maintain what is for all practical purposes, a fact.
In Elliott's defense -- "if one can dignify it with that term" — he isn't the first and won't be the last to get tangled up in the working relationship between legal theory and legal practice. I just wish someone could make a definitive case against the Ford proposition. I'm not sure there is one to be made.

Unless you were just yanking my chain hinting that Bama might lose I don't get your reasoning.
How often has any POTUS ever attended a sporting event with 100K+ fans in attendance? After games its a madhouse mass of humanity flowing out of the stadium. Win or lose the traffic in Tuscaloosa is horrendous. I live 2.5 hours from Tuscaloosa and it will take me around 6 hours after the game ends to get home. Two hours of that will be spent just getting out of Tuscaloosa.
For the safety of the POTUS leaving at halftime is probably the best decision. I can't imagine the Secret Service allowing him to leave at the end of the game. If he doesn't leave at halftime, then maybe he just stays at the stadium for an extra hour or so after the game and goes and meets the players for both teams in the locker room. I heard a rumor Kanye West is also coming to the game so if he and Kanye go to the locker rooms together that could be a very influential message. West is already going to be in Baton Rouge Friday night for a concert so I can see him joining Trump on Saturday.

Rush is going to town on Mark Said, the "whistleblower's" attorney. Too bad Lindsay Graham is a useless piece of shit.

"Said" should be ZAID.

Oops!
The anti-Trump “whistleblower’s” attorneys are threatening ANYONE who releases the name of their client Eric Ciaramella to the public.
But does that include shifty Adam Schiff?

Nix the part about Kanye West in Baton Rouge tomorrow. He was there last Friday. The rumor he is joining Trump for the game is something I saw on Wednesday.

The "Whistleblower" is no such thing.
An example of a real whistleblower is the person who apparently just got SHITCANNED from CBS because the Stephanopoulos network tattled on him/her.

Stu discusses Admiral McRaven's op-ed in the NYT and his violation of 2 articles of the UCMJ, including communications he had with a guy who had served under McRaven.
Very much worth reading.
