Jonathan Adler, one of The Few, The Proud, the Green Right-wingers, describes a market-oriented agenda to grapple with climate change. He has a companion piece in the LA Times.
This triggers a flashback to my post last August, when Politico and the NY Times were describing an emergence of Green Republicans.

But when it is of that teenage climate scold, it's double bad!

A bit of trivia about Stuart Woods. We bolted the turbine onto our plane back in the early oughts after about a hunnert had been previously done. Stuart was one of those and apparently wrote that plane into his story line. I’ve not read any of his novels, but apparently he introduced each step up to his subsequent birds into the stories since. Write about what you know. And I know Epstein didn’t kill himself.

People, do not take this lightly. It is a real thing, not a nothingburger.
You know and I know that it’s 100% bullshit, further, ALL the crimes were committed by the democrats.
Democrats got away with corrupting intelligence agencies and law enforcement at high levels to (so far unsuccessfully) conduct a bloodless coup to overturn the election of a POTUS, and (so far VERY successfully) prevent their prosecution. There are enough feckless republicans who either want this to happen, or lack the courage to get in front of it.

Re CFP: Being the mischievous sort, I hope that things proceed so that THREE SEC teams in the CFP will be in play. Let's say Alabama wins out, and scores an impressive win over a ranked Auburn team. OSU wins out, which would mean OSU knocks off Penn State, which would then be a two loss team, and OSU thumps Minnesota in the Big Ten championship game. Even if Minny ends with only one loss, Minny's several unimpressive wins would knock them out of contention. Then let's say the Baylors, Oregons, Utahs, Oklahomas et all of the world proceed so that, when compared against one loss Alabama, Alabama would clearly be the better choice. In that scenario, which I would say is quite plausible, the final piece would be one loss Georgia defeating LSU in a close SEC title game. Thus, the logical rankings would be OSU, LSU, Georgia and Alabama.
I may not be 4-D when it comes to Trump/Coup matters, but when it comes to CFP, I am 11-D! :-)

One day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them.
“Where have you come from?” said the LORD to Satan.
“From roaming through the earth,” he replied, “and walking back and forth in it.”
Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil.”
Satan answered the LORD, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not placed a hedge on every side around him and his household and all that he owns? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out Your hand and strike all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face.”
“Very well,” said the LORD to Satan. “Everything he has is in your hands, but you must not lay a hand on the man himself.
And incidentally Epstein didn't kill himself.”
"I know" said Satan, "When he arrived he told me it was some half-drunk, old blonde broad in a pantsuit made out of 1970s RV curtains. I didn't have the heart to tell him she reports directly to me."
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD

Let's hope Dem primary voters won't accept Bloomberg, because should he be the nominee, I think he might make a formidable contender. He'd get Dem gen'l election votes and suit all the Republican squishes and fainting ladies to a T. He's a nanny-stater, not an outright socialist, and he's actually run things successfully in business and politics. He's the person I'd least like to see running. He'll punch hard on Trump's approach to China, while Trump still needs time to close the deal, before he can claim success. I worry more about Chinese interference in the election than I ever did about Russian interference, and I think they'd much prefer to be dealing with Bloomberg, given the sympathetic remarks he's made about Chicom governance.

I am inclined to believe that Greta's fake aspergers was selected as the disability de jour by he fake-as-shit actor/producer parents to gain them autism creds among their elitist brethren.
It is an end of the autism spectrum diagnosis that doesn't seem likely in a showboating douche that is willing to appear in front of the UN
Her fake disability is only a trick to provide a defensive shield against reasonable debate of her unrealistic point of view.
To hell with her.

Jane: "As much as I find Greta, and her message to be a joke, it's hard to forget she has autism. Her "success" as much as I don't agree with it, is a great thing - particularly for kids who aren't sure they have it in them"
A very kind thought.
I find it striking how many kids have low confidence. Especially comparing to the parental generation which
Was married as a teenager
No college
Lived through the Great Depression
Fought in WWII
What a world they gifted to us.
Such a sad attitude our kids are experiencing.
I saw a comment at TheNewNeo
"There has never been a better time to be alive almost anywhere on earth. The lack of perspective and gratitude for those that have come before is really astounding."
And a classic quote, new to me
"In America the young are always ready to give those who are older the full benefits of their inexperience.” — Oscar Wilde
And this:
"I’ve seen condescension directed toward boomers from my peers both on the left and the right. Young right-wing individuals seem to be greatly frustrated with boomers on a number of political issues. Among them:
-A total failure to manage the budget and national debt over two decades
-Outrageous cost increase of college, which has saddled millions with huge debt and delayed marriage/children/house ownership/etc.
-In the Republican party, prioritization of an aggressive neocon foreign policy and pandering of corporations over other priorities
-The beginning of a huge slide in moral issues. (Things like divorce and sexual promiscuity are way up in boomers relative to their parents. Christianity has transitioned from a majority to a minority culture under their watch.)"
Similar:
"the Baby Boom generation ... is perceived by the younger generations as having had their lives comparatively easy, while setting up conditions in the future to make it much harder for everyone else.
1. Paying for college by just working a summer job, versus having to go into debt for tens of thousands of dollars.
2. Buying their first home at 25, while others have to wait until 35-40, in a very overpriced market.
3. “Just look the hiring manager in the eye and give him a firm handshake,” versus multiple rounds of interviews, hundreds of resumes submitted, no call-backs, and competing with millions of foreigners on H1-B visas and the like.
4. National debt less than $500 billion forty years ago, while over $23 trillion today. Just wait until interest payments go up in a few years.
5. Boomers expecting to get all of their Social Security and Medicare, while we all know it will be bankrupt for everyone else. Same deal for pensions in places like California and Illinois.
6. Growing up in a homogeneous, unified culture, while pushing diversity and multiculturalism on everyone else. And then letting their white grandchildren become a minority in their own country.
7. The expectation that foreign affairs will always be the same as post-WWII and post-Cold War, where the US can afford endless interventions and alliances, to make everything perfect.
8. Being able to work in a good factory job back then, versus offshoring the manufacturing base today.
And you can go on and on, with many other examples related to environmentalism, feminism, racism, sexism, social and political experimentation, globalism, consumerism, diversity, multiculturalism, and immigration, where the policies the Boomers push on everyone else makes it worse for them, while they suffer no consequences."
I'll stop now :) :)

Anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald noted by Instapundit.
This interchange was posted on AR15. The fear is palpable as the skipper of the Arthur Anderson was asked if he could turn back and search the area. In the storm. In the dark. As I recall, he did go back but was of course unable to save anyone.
Kind of the opposite of virtue signaling... bravery with all to lose, little to gain. But humans sometimes do that, even for complete strangers.
https://www.mlive.com/news/2018/11/hear_call_to_help_edmund_fitzg.html
This call was made about 9 p.m. to the Anderson's captain, Jesse Cooper:
Coast Guard: "Anderson, this is Group Soo. What is your present position?"
Cooper: "We're down here, about two miles off Parisienne Island right now...the wind is northwest forty to forty-five miles here in the bay."
Coast Guard: "Is it calming down at all, do you think?"
Cooper: "In the bay it is, but I heard a couple of the salties talking up there, and they wish they hadn't gone out."
Coast Guard: "Do you think there is any possibility and you could...ah...come about and go back there and do any searching?"
Cooper: "Ah...God, I don't know...ah...that...that sea out there is tremendously large. Ah...if you want me to, I can, but I'm not going to be making any time; I'll be lucky to make two or three miles an hour going back out that way."
Coast Guard: "Well, you'll have to make a decision as to whether you will be hazarding your vessel or not, but you're probably one of the only vessels right now that can get to the scene. We're going to try to contact those saltwater vessels and see if they can't possibly come about and possibly come back also...things look pretty bad right now; it looks like she may have split apart at the seams like the Morrell did a few years back."
Cooper: "Well, that's what I been thinking. But we were talking to him about seven and he said that everything was going fine. He said that he was going along like an old shoe; no problems at all."
Coast Guard: "Well, again, do you think you could come about and go back and have a look in the area?"
Cooper: "Well, I'll go back and take a look, but God, I'm afraid I'm going to take a hell of a beating out there... I'll turn around and give 'er a whirl, but God, I don't know. I'll give it a try."
Coast Guard: "That would be good."
Cooper: "Do you realize what the conditions are out there?"
No reply from the Coast Guard. Captain Cooper tries again.
Coast Guard: "Affirmative. From what your reports are I can appreciate the conditions. Again, though, I have to leave that decision up to you as to whether it would be hazarding your vessel or not. If you think you can safely go back up to the area, I would request that you do so. But I have to leave the decision up to you."
Cooper: "I'll give it a try, but that's all I can do."

Headlines you might have missed not reading The People's Cube:

Jim,
I was living in Marquette (UP) on a power plant project for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Ore company she the Fitzgerald went down. The plant was off Lake Shore Drive adjacent to the ore dock. There was a huge storm that night wit 10 foot waves breaking over the rip-rap shore protection the freezing along the road. Ugly.
I arrived on the job as usual at 0530 and drove at 5 mph just to avoid the slippery ice. Then we got the word over our Tannoy from the shift watch. Everyone was stunned. Lake Superior is a monster many times a year.

Without her hair Greta looks not a little like Nikita Kruschev glaring down at us; which considering it's from the People's Cube is apropos, I guess.

The legend lives on from the CHIPPEWA on down, that EPSTEIN didn't kill himself.

Gus,
I don't think she is being used. I know a couple of kids with autism, one in particular who is fun and witty and smart. My guess is he is awkward on occasion - but never with me.
I'm always mad he has that label.

Clarice:
Yes, I know about all the nanny insanity, but there's a reason Bloomberg was re-elected multiple times. A friend who lived in the city almost all his adult life said Bloomberg was the most responsive mayor they had ever had. If you called up city gov't about a pothole, somebody actually showed up to check it out. He may have bought his way in, but I would not underestimate him. He will run as a believable centrist whom anti-Trump malcontents on the right will embrace, as will any Democrats who actually want to win the election. Whether it's Bloomberg or someone one else, I don't believe were looking at a Dem nominee from the current candidate pool. Hate to say it, because they are all such losers that Trump could beat with a flyswatter.

Jane, her own parents are using her, there is NO DOUBT about that.
Her autism is a reason to NOT use her.
Posted by: GUS | November 10, 2019 at 01:39 PM
She doesn't have autism, aspergers, or anything.
It is BS for the masses. A lie.

No way TK, the FULL COMMIE doesn't lie! They care.

And meet the young lady who fell from a star.
She fell from the sky,she fell very far.
And Kansas she says is the name of the star.
She brings you good news, haven't you heard?
Epstein didn't kill himself.

Peter:
Prayers for your son’s quick recovery.
Follow anonamom’s advice.
Senate needs to call in Hunter Biden and then Joe for questioning.
I know they want to protect Biden because he was a former senator but the corruption here is obvious.
Schiff won’t let House Repubs call Hunter so someone has to do it.
It is imperative to get the IG report out tomorrow and the Durham report before Christmas.
I know they are destroying evidence just like Hillary did.
The newspapers are also hiding and getting rid of incriminating information.
Latest theory:
Lisa Page is cooperating with Durham.
If she is smart , she is doing that.
Jayson, a Fox commentator says president Trump needs to do more than call this a witch hunt and a hoax.
He hired a new team to combat the impeachment meme.
They should begin today with a counter messsge.

Of course the new team should have been empowered months ago...

JiB, my Dad grew up in Hancock across the bridge from Hancock/MichTech.
My Uncle Dave West was a Cleveland Cliffs manager at Munising.
Lots of summer vacations spent in the Upper Peninsula... but only summers LOL. It takes a stern personality to thrive there year round. I always enjoy your comments about the UP! :)

@realDonaldTrump
Corrupt politician Adam Schiff wants people from the White House to testify in his and Pelosi’s disgraceful Witch Hunt, yet he will not allow a White House lawyer, nor will he allow ANY of our requested witnesses. This is a first in due process and Congressional history!

JimNorCal,
I'll be in the U.P.in 2 weeks. The Cabin is on the WISCONSIN side, but Iron River is where we go for beer and provisions.

“There’s nothing there! I’m trying to let the House know that they’re dividing America for no good reason. We’ve got a lot of things we should be doing, like lowering drug costs & getting a trade deal with Mexico and Canada.” @LindseyGrahamSC The Do Nothing Dems have gone crazy!

Back from my excursion to feed the cat, and on the way back I heard our former prosecutor, Carl Brizzi, on a talk show.
He was adamant that Epstein did NOT kill himself. Explained the procedures he went through when he had had a pedophile and possible suicide/murder risk.
He explained that the most hated types in jails or prisons were pedophiles and snitches, and Epstein was also a potential snitch.
Then he said he had never heard of two guards falling asleep at the same time, and he had had cameras in the Marion County Jail for 16 years with no malfunction.
He also detailed the earlier attack on Epstein and the lack of paper sheets.
So, I figure if a guy like Brizzi (who handled the Subway molester Jared Fogle) thinks he was murdered, then Epstein didn't kill himself.

We have a movie theatre nearby that only shows classic movies from the 30s, 40s and 50s. There's a live performance on their mighty Wurlitzer organ each day between shows. Wizard of Oz is coming soon, I hope I can go see it ... the rest of the family could care less of course but my wife sometimes indulges me.

Give it a rest.
Epstein killed himself.
I want justice for his victims and an investigation into ABC and CBS for covering up his wrongdoing.
Senate doesn’t care enough about our President to offer a full throated defense and to start investigating the persons who spied on his campaign.
No guts no glory.
