Since all anyone here can do is speculate on what Rosenstein did behind the scenes and what his motives were I am fine with not starting any discussions about him until Durham is finished. If however someone decides to post a link to a pundit/blogger treating their speculation as fact then all bets are off.

Bowling! You go TLG! Happy anniversary to you.

Bowling was a major part of many an anniversary of mine, as our August anniversary meant dinner out at the only place in town (when we are at the lake), Fred's of Roscommon--which is also a bowling alley! (Log cabin bowling alley). And the local watering hole.
So, as momma and daddy lingered over another glass of wine (likely out of a box) the kiddos would go bowl a few lines.
Good times, good times!

This fleshes out a better explanation of why he picked Lebanon;

Ghosn was born in Brazil and raised in Lebanon, where he has investments in real estate and vineyards and continues to be viewed as a business icon and wunderkind. His image has been used for national postal stamps. Since the early days of his incarceration, Ghosn won support from Lebanon.

matt - deplore me if you must

If the CIA is doling out SAM's that is some very serious shit that our military will be very, very unhappy about.

According to the sources at the time, the primary function of the secret CIA site in Benghazi was to buy up as many SAM's as they could find. I don't doubt that in the least.

All you need is some Islamist radical sitting outside an airport and hundreds would die. So I really doubt the CIA would be distributing Stingers, especially when they had a supply of barely traceable Strela's and other SAM's.

I doubt very many Stingers would have been in Afghanistan or anywhere else in the ME except our bases on the Gulf as there were no air threats in Iraq or Afghanistan after 2003.

Sounds doubtful.

Narciso

Well mike vickers handed out stingers like candy in the mid 80s, who mamy were left unused, we never learn from these exercises the late gerald de villiers who is decidedly nsfw described the scenario in mad men of benghazi pointing to the qartaris

Happy Year Before New Decade Starts!

I'm obviously in the camp that says the new decade begins in 2021.

Re shots: The most unpleasant thing for me about flu shots or other shots is the way health professionals try to distract me from seeing the needle go into my arm. For my flu shot this year, the nurse attempted to direct my attention to how nice it was outside. I said I want to see the thing go in. What is the problem? Especially now when, unlike the good old days when the health pro had this big menacing needle, the newfangled needles do not even produce a small pin prick!

anonamom

Also, I read a week or so ago that "they", CDC?, whoever, had missed getting the flu vaccine matched correctly to strains that have popped up -- they do this all of the time, don't they.

You betcha they miss a lot! They have to make the "educated guess" about two years ahead of time as to which strains to include in the vaccine, to have it in productions, so it's available--so yep, it's a miss more often than they nail it, lately anyways.

And I have to say, that "you aren't having it as bad as you would if you didn't get the vaccine" stuff--never ever learned anything along those lines. Not saying it's not true--I am not an internist or ID doc--
Maybe Buckeye could run that by junior and see what he thinks.

The intent is to NOT get it--just like the measles, mumps, diptheria vaccines--not to have a milder case if you do get it.

(I think they just say that so people get vaccinated next year, but I am an old cynical lady.)

anonamom, you're asking the ladies in the crowd; no male would willingly see that movie (or read that book, for that matter). I know that, on Christmas, the subject of maybe going to the flicks came up; I suggested Knives Out, at which point my wife, daughter, and son's girlfriend, in unison, piped up with "how about Little Women??". We played a board game instead.

My advice to the WP and NYT editors would be this: Start from the posture that the Prez's supporters know something you don't, not that you need to understand the mindsets of the bitter clingers and deplorables.

Anonamom @ 1:15

So let me get this straight. On a political blog if someone posts a link to another blog/oped article on the biggest political scandal in US history and I disagree with the speculative opinion of the author of the oped, you and others want me to exercise self-control and not point out why I disagree with the author? That is what it sounds like.

I could link to some threads of people making a plausible argument based on known facts and speculative connecting the dots that Comey is part of Team Trump's attack to defeat the Deep State/Swamp. I wouldn't bet a six pack of beer that they are correct but I have to admit they make a logical point and could be correct. Can you imagine the shitstorm here that would create? There is no telling how many people here would attack me or that article and call it nonsense, magical thinking, etc? Are you going to tell them to exercise self-control and not to try and discredit a plausible argument that they believe is not only incorrect but pure nonsense?

John S

My wife took me to see "Little Women" a few days ago. It is "based on" the novel. It's well done, if you like female drama, etc. It seemed to me that I could tell which parts were not from the original. Jo tells off her publisher in a very modern feminist way. Has anyone read the novel? Does it include the parts in which Jo is writing a novel about the family and getting it published?

henry

Thanks MT! They need to name the compromised fourteen, especially since they report a reluctance to notify application providers using their clouds. The provider I use was not listed. They have a contractual requirement to inform us of such an intrusion (which rolls along to me notifying my customers). SBW "I suspend judgment on the veracity of the Benghazi claims until reliable evidence is revealed."
