Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Tremendous things achieved for U.S. on my NATO trip. Proudly for our Country, no President has ever achieved so much in so little time. Without a U.S. increase, other countries have already increased by $130 Billion-with $400 Billion soon. Such a thing has never been done before!

henry

The Do Nothing Democrats had a historically bad day yesterday in the House. They have no Impeachment case and are demeaning our Country. But nothing matters to them, they have gone crazy. Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair....

.....trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business. We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to “Clean the Swamp,” and that’s what I am doing!

It seems as though the Mueller/Comey/Felix Sater trap has sprung on the Democrats. Pelosi was lured into requesting that articles of impeachment get drafted.

Stupid ol' me thought #twoweeks should have been #twoyearsago, but I don't have DawsonSField's insight on how a goalpost moving illusion equals indictments.

The VDH article in NR was sobering.

Beijing’s only hesitation in seeking an armistice seems to come from an expectation that Trump will not be reelected and that a Democratic administration will return to the status quo — even as China claims that it sees Trump as an easily manipulated patsy. The bottom line is that China views the present recalibration as intolerable and is desperately seeking some way to nullify it.

So we are entering dangerous territory not because we are losing our trade war with China, but because we are beginning to win it.

On all three fronts, Trump/US is winning, and provocation seems likely. However, the idea that the world is watching these impeachment shenanigans and making plans for the post-Trump world is upsetting, to say the least.

Millennialism rests on the assumption that some kind of apocalyptic battle -- capitalism vs. communism, jihad vs. infidel, climate warriors vs. deniers. etc. -- is at hand. Naturally, a struggle of such importance had to be won by any means necessary. A select vanguard, party, or movement were the people to do the job. Sacrifices would have to be made, collateral damage endured, but no matter; victory would bring a millennial kingdom into being where the masses or even the planet would live happily ever after.

They want to participate in tomorrow's climate strike, so I told my girl that there was no way she could unless she could articulate the platform and understood the arguments against it, otherwise it is just brainwashing. The few who still have a tenuous link to reality realize that moving forward with a purely political impeachment effort is suicide. They needed to build wide public support, they were promised this would happen. What they got is a horrible plan with no support and no public buy-in, and yet they're going ahead anyways because they can't stop now. They should, but they can't.

They painted themselves into a corner.

There was no way to back out once they dangled the prospect of impeachment in front of the extremists.

Any failure to at least attempt it will destroy their support with the base. A failed attempt just alienates the moderates and independents until the outrage dies down.

Unlike Republicans, they know they can't win without their base.

The Left has now discovered Failure Theatre.
