Violent unrest in Iraq, Lebanon and Iran. The NY Times reports on Iran and acknowledges that the financial pressure of the new Trump sanctions are a big part of the Ayatollah's problem.
Iran is experiencing its deadliest political unrest since the Islamic Revolution 40 years ago, with at least 180 people killed — and possibly hundreds more — as angry protests have been smothered in a government crackdown of unbridled force.
It began two weeks ago with an abrupt increase of at least 50 percent in gasoline prices. Within 72 hours, outraged demonstrators in cities large and small were calling for an end to the Islamic Republic’s government and the downfall of its leaders.
...
The gas price increase, which was announced as most Iranians had gone to bed, came as Iran is struggling to fill a yawning budget gap. The Trump administration sanctions, mostly notably their tight restrictions on exports of Iran’s oil, are a big reason for the shortfall. The sanctions are meant to pressure Iran into renegotiating the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and major world powers, which President Trump abandoned, calling it too weak.
Most of the nationwide unrest seemed concentrated in neighborhoods and cities populated by low-income and working-class families, suggesting this was an uprising born in the historically loyal power base of Iran’s post-revolutionary hierarchy.
Left unmentioned, possibly because it is a specious cheap shot - raising gas prices doesn't seem to play well anywhere, as Macron of France and Moreno of Ecuador will attest. But Shhh! Don't tell the Green New Dealers!
And as a bonus "Hmm" - the Chinese leadership is in a quite different position from the Ayatollah, having had good long term success at delivering prosperity. But public memories can be short and I suspect glaring examples of public unrest over poor economic results gives the Chinese leaders a "There but for the grace of Mao go I" chill.
And Happy Birthday clarice

So do these have to go all the way to indictment? Horowitz last referral (McCabe) got a pass on prosecution. The institution gets the appearance of being cleaned up while no deep state pension is threatened. I truly expect no different here.

Exactly. Barr saw the need to prevent Mueller from continuing to press for an obstruction charge.
In this instance, Horowitz has already forwarded material for further investigation and possible prosecution to AG Barr. Barr is well aware of what's in the Horowitz report, and lacking a similar pre-emptory move as with Mueller's report would appear to be satisfied with what Horowitz has produced.

Former Haitian Senate President Calls Clintons 'Common Thieves Who Should Be in Jail'
An eyewitness to the Clinton Foundation's corrupt dealings in Haiti says virtually nothing has been done to help the victims of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti that claimed an estimated 200,000 lives, and that the Clintons are nothing but common thieves who should be in jail.
Sandy Rios of American Family Radio interviewed former Haitian Senate President Bernard Sansaricq on Thursday, and the enraged Haitian had nothing good to say about the Clintons. He angrily claimed that they brought their "pay to play" politics to Haiti at the expense of the Haitian people.

Barr only has to keepupthe integrity of the FBI and DOJ . He can point the finger at Brennan, Clapper and Baker at Department of Defense for deceiving the FBI into opening up the investigation. Only have severalproblems why did Comey offer his services to this endeavor and memorialize his conversations with Trump toimplicate him and McCabe'sconflict of interest and lying.

I am very disappointed in our Ga. governor! Some are speculating it was due to $$$. Anyone who has had anything to do with Stacey Abrams should be automatically disqualified. Many pro-life groups are upset that he would appoint her so I suppose she must be pro-choice.

Not surprised that the Clintons turned the Haiti appeal into a slush fund for themselves.
I think about 3 percent of the money actually went to Haiti.
Even Rodham’s brother got in on the grifting.
I believe McCabe will be indicted because all of his appeals failed. Not yet a definitive answer regarding his future.
I believe it will be 6 or more people.
Anyone who signed the FISA warrants has to answer to the court for an unverified document.
Maybe even 10 people are indicted.

Barr only has to keepupthe integrity of the FBI and DOJ .
What integrity?
The integrity of not recording witness interviews, forbidding witnesses themselves from recording them, writing up the reports weeks afterwards, and then using those reports to prosecute the witnesses for perjury?
The integrity of sending a SWAT team with snipers and helicopters to serve a warrant for a nonviolent crime against a 65 year old guy whose wife is deaf, with CNN reporters tipped off to film the whole thing?
That kind of integrity?

Ignore the Lisa Page moan. It’s a distraction. What you need to know: coup plotters are not allowed to communicate with each other because they are under criminal investigation. So they use the media to send each other messages. There has been speculation that Lisa flipped ...
...so Lisa is using the media, including Comey’s best pal Wittes, to send a message to her co-conspirators: she has not flipped, is sticking to the agreed story. “Everything was legally predicated.” Coup plotters will continue looking for who among them provided the evidence...
...that turned the Barr/Durham inquiry into the origins of Spygate into the criminal investigation.

Over at Power Line my friend Scott Johnson has a post on the same topic. He cites a text message between the famous lovers about "ONCONUS lures." That's spook speak for people outside the continental US used by the CIA as traps for American citizens. In this case that would be Misfud and that other guy who's name escapes me now.
...
Halper is the other guy.
"The term OCONUS lures, shorthand for spies “Outside the Continental United States,” was featured in a Dec. 28, 2015 text from FBI agent Peter Strzok, the lead FBI agent on the Trump investigation, to FBI lawyer Lisa Page, asking, “You get all our oconus lures approved?”
The FBI and CIA were using spies to get at the Trump campaign. You got a problem with that?

No decorations yet. Just the star. "Greenery" is up on the mantle and over the door. The windows on the first floor have electric candles lit.
Outside we have lit garland over the door, a lit tree on the porch, and a lit wreath on the wall. Looks nice with 10" of snow on the ground.

Tarped the door but didn’t like leaving the garage basically open all weekend with only the inner door deadbolt for security.
