Bringing this over from the end of the last thread:
HIGHLY recommend this thread. The writer is a retired Navy captain, and this is how it begins:
"1. The Age of Trump has pulled the scales from my eyes regarding US foreign policy related to the Middle East. We have been continuously at war since 9/11/01 at various time in multiple countries."
Plus the House wants to Vote to Impeach, then hold the paperwork up through the election, and keep impeachment investigation as a permanent committee while they chase Trump's kindergarten records through the Supreme Court.
I'd like to again thank the dickweeds who passed the 17th amendment for not understanding the wisdom of the founders and turning the Senate into a six year clown show featuring oily turds like Schoooooomer.
When trying to figure out what is really going on with Flynn's case I try to cover all the plausible logic paths based on the few facts we have access to. The theory that Flynn and Team Trump engineered a sting operation against the Deep State is the wishful thinking best case scenario for Trump supporters and the MAGA agenda. An alternative worst case scenario is that the reason Flynn plead guilty is because he knows he is truly guilty of the crimes for which he plead guilty to. The problem with this scenario is that it doesn't account for why Flynn kept agreeing to delaying his sentencing and wracking up expensive legal fees when he knew he was guilty as charged. There are other possible alternatives in between. The judge made it clear that Flynn's sentencing memo establishes the position Flynn thinks he is innocent so the judge asked him if he wanted to withdraw his guilty plea. Why did Flynn not take advantage of the opportunity the judge was giving him?
To answer that question I try to put myself in Flynn's shoes. If I know I am innocent I never plead guilty in the first place and go to trial to prove my innocence. If Mueller's lawyers coerced me into pleading guilty by threatening to go after my son I explain to the judge now that the DOJ is in charge of the case I withdraw my coerced guilty plea and plead innocence. Flynn so far has done neither of those which leads me down the logic path that this is either a sting operation he and Team Trump engineered or he knows he is guilty as charged.
This set of tea leaves says Flynn will get quality time with new friends.

Given that no system is perfect, I think the founders set the Senate up the way they did to make sure the full range of viewpoints of the states be considered and be as far away from mob rule as possible. To use my example, Chuck Schumer doesn't have to do a damn thing for the rural areas of New York to have a lifetime office. That doesn't mean the state legislatures will choose wisely, which has been a risk since day 1.
How much do you think Chuck would have to do for the rural areas to get anointed by the NY Legislature? They pretty much ignore the rubes themselves, no?
I defended the Wash. Barr, (the republican leader of the house rules committee) is doing a pretty good job. The problem is Nadler didn't show up and his substitute knows nothing.
There was a lengthy Twitter thread on Sullivan's rejection of it on all points, but I'll have to look for it. I thought I found it here on JOM, but I don't remember for certain. I'll let you know what I find.
I'd recommend a gift card and a trip to a good music store. Shape, color, weight, feel and sound are all very subjective. There's a big difference between the sound of single-coil and humbucker pickups, for example. Most electrics have similar neck widths, narrower than acoustics, but the shape of the back of the necks differ, and it can make a big difference in how easy it is to play, especially for small hands. Ibanez is usually more of a shredder type guitar. A nice Mexican Fender Stratocaster would be a good beginner guitar, if she likes the twangy sound of the single-coil pickups. Maybe an Epiphone if humbuckers sound better to her. (These are usually the cheaper non-US versions of Fenders and Gibsons.)
The impeachments will continue until the indictments arrive.
Don't count on it. In fact, House Democrats are already preparing to impeach Trump a second time. According to Law & Crime, they're currently suing to get access to more grand jury materials from the Robert Mueller investigation in the hopes of building a case for obstruction of justice.
Meghan McCain has her place on The View for the same reason that Hunter Biden had that seat on the Burisma Board of Directors: influence peddling and possibly money-laundering.
You cannot convince me that she adds any interest or value to that program. Her sole purpose there is to be a fake conservative and trash Trump.
In fact, House Democrats are already preparing to impeach Trump a second time. According to Law & Crime, they're currently suing to get access to more grand jury materials from the Robert Mueller investigation in the hopes of building a case for obstruction of justice.
So, just like socialism, hmmm? Just hasn't been done right yet---
Somebody must have convinced this pygmy that debasing himself with his lowlife comments makes Trump look bad rather than himself.
They're lying to you Bobby.
The only way that a stop is put to this constant impeachment crap is to vote out the democrat majority in the House, and in the meantime put the fear of God into as many representatives as we can.
The formation of that "Lincoln Group" (Kristol, Conway, Kasich, etc.) also infuriates me. I am tired of those sorts telling me I don't observe "true conservatism" when they have skirted the Constitution on their favorite causes and have earned a living by criticizing Republicans that they don't like. I well remrmbrt Bill Kristol undermining Dan Quayle and making snarky comments about Bush 43. I also remember Kasich getting a bad case of sour grapes when he didn't get the nomination (or even place close) and so went around doing his "Gee whillikers, aw shucks" passive-aggressive routine.
Who are THEY to act so high and mighty? The country is firing on all cylinders with a roaring economy and we aren't in any new wars, which I think is a big deal. I am sticking with President Trump,, and I plan to speak up loud and clear about why.
Deplorable Don rehashes the Nixon Impeachment
Lots of detail that I never knew. https://donsurber.blogspot.com/2019/12/what-trump-learned-from-watergate.html
Here's a snip, quoting Geoff Shepherd
"There is documented proof of a series of secret meetings between Chief Judge John Sirica and Watergate prosecutors. I donβt know which is the bigger surprise: that they were secretly meeting to resolve issues in advance of trial or that they were documenting their agreements in memos to their files. The mother lode of these documents, improperly removed in 1974 when Jaworski left office, first came to light in 2013 in response to my FOIA requests."
"At one point, Cox became so worried about the sustainability of Judge Siricaβs one-sided rulings in favor of the prosecutors that he feared their conviction verdicts would be overturned on appeal. He secretly approached Chief Appellate Judge David Bazelon to explain how the judicial panels could be stacked to maintain Bazelonβs slim one-vote liberal majority."

After reading a lot about Trump's children, and being totally impressed with them, I can only imagine that DeNiro wants his children to be gang members and murderers.
I ran out and Dana Loesch was on the radio BLASTING that Lincoln Group and what hypocrites they are. She said she has seen them being VERY nasty on social media but yet they want to blast Trump for his vulgarity.
I can affirm with Rick Wilson this is definitely true. I turned on my radio when I came home because she says she has a LOT more to say about this.

Now I'm hearing the House Dems may only have a small handful of defections on the vote.
So the trial balloon about ~30 moderates (basically the freshmen in formerly R districts) defecting must not have gone very well.

I probably read about Powell's filing to dismiss here: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/10/25/stunning-potentially-game-changing-court-filing-by-flynn-defense-lawyer-sidney-powell/
There was a lengthy Twitter thread on Sullivan's rejection of it on all points, but I'll have to look for it. I thought I found it here on JOM, but I don't remember for certain. I'll let you know what I find.

He leans towards Ibanez.
Good luck to her and I hope she sticks with it.

Her sole purpose there is to be a fake conservative and trash Trump.

henry,
The only way that a stop is put to this constant impeachment crap is to vote out the democrat majority in the House, and in the meantime put the fear of God into as many representatives as we can.

I can affirm with Rick Wilson this is definitely true. I turned on my radio when I came home because she says she has a LOT more to say about this.
