When my sister and I were in the UK in 2012 for the Queen's Jubilee, I knew Brexit would pass. ALL of the shopkeepers, tour guides, and cab drivers were bad-mouthing the EU.

That is why after we got home and Trump declared, after Walker dropped out I knew Trump would win.

I think there is a wave of populism sweeping around the world.

Jim Eagle

LOL, at the Labour analysis of the vote. Brexit was the issue. But the voters voted for Conservatice to get Brexit done. But they (Labour) refuse to accept the vote of an "extreme right-wing cabinet in history". There is absolutist no difference between the anti-semitic, pro-socialist, Lenin-Stalinist party of Labour v. our Democrats.

Goodye, Jeremy Corbyn. It over for you bub.

The President and First Lady will attend the Congressional Ball tonight at 7:OO PM BOY, would I like to be a fly on the wall!

I also want to know what her dress will look like!

Praying Medic
Forget the "they didn't like the election results" nonsense.
This is about one thing.
They know they're going to be prosecuted.
They fear Barr and Durham.
This is what I think. The panic and fear we see in their faces can only come from that.

BREKAING NEWS: The full House will likely vote on Trump impeachment articles next week on wednesday.

Jim Eagle

I think the guy to watch for PM after Boris is Dominic Raab but he has some bagged like Israel settlements and siding with the Paleos. Smart guy but with a weak knee of stable political settings.

Captain Hate

I hope they just left out meaningless crap:

JUST IN: Democrats want to impeach the President for [checks notes] being too tall.

Jim Eagle

If I am a member of Congress who knows the media likes sneak up and photo papers left on my desk, I will make sure they are cartoons of Nahncee, Jerry and Googly Eyes.

Well, maybe they could blame THIS on him:

Haha, henry! I was watching as Hank Johnson was stumbling through that statement.

Captain Hate

I vote for Hank Johnson as the most ignorant POS in Congress. You'd think after Guam he'd refrain from speaking in public permanently.

Andrew Sullivan

One lesson from the UK: if the Democrats don't stop their hard-left slide, they'll suffer the same fate as Labour. If they don't move off their support for mass immigration, they're toast. Ditto the wokeness. Left Twitter is not reality.

Doug Collins(minority leader) is on the Dem side of the aisle having a whisper chat with Hakeem Jefferies which results in a thumbs up from Hakeem.

Once again we are watching theater and our elected representatives are not as pissed as us.

Jim Eagle

First results in a minute or two from Tyneside ( IOW' Sunderland and New Castle)

Who wins? In soccer a huge rivalry. Newcastle wins:

LIB Dem 2009
Brexits 5002
Labour 21K =
Tory not even worth posting.

The NE of England continues to destroy themselves much like Michigan.

Now Sunderland (same part of the country)

Labour, of course.

That is the historical NE of England. They have no voice in Parliament.

Tight race. Her majority shunk over 6k votes.

Matthew Goodwin
Look at the likely Conservative gains: Workington, Bishop Auckland, Dudley North, Halifax, Wakefield, Don Valley.

Key message: it's easier for the right to move left on economics than it is for the left to move right on identity

Johnson has grasped the new formula

Gordon Brown completed the Eurasia Project in Scotland before backing Blair. Most of the country is now in De Toqueville hell.

Captain Hate

Left Twitter is not reality.

You mean people don't really care how The Federalist is funded?

Rush said something today I never thought of.

He said this impeachment sham was meant for us.

They think we are so stupid that we voted for the president because he's famous

Not because we knew exactly what we were doing.

They think they can turn us.

Now look who's stupid?

Captain Hate

Meechigan voted Trump in 2016.

Capt ,

I will never forget about GUAM TIPPING OVER, every time I see that guy I cringe. Altho I will say after watching this shit for the last few weeks, every time I see a Democrat, I cringe.

The Dems solving the meaning of "do us a favor, though.." reminds me of George Costanza trying to decode his secret briefcase recording on the trustees of his dead fiance's fortune.

Jefferies went on a thorough Trump bashing and who is up next? Collins.

Captain Hate

They are demonstrably all dumb, Jane, which amazingly doesn't stop them from running their stupid yaps and further proving my point.

If TC is right, and I'm not saying he is, why don't they try Evan Bayh, who is probably dumb too but at least keeps his mouth zipped. Miss Marple could blow him out of the water by telling the Golden Scalpweasel that Mrs. Evan Bayh isn't allowed to wear slacks and the trolling would begin in earnest: but they don't know that now.

Praying Medic

Exit Poll:
Conservatives to win 368 seats in Parliament—the biggest Tory majority since Margaret Thatcher's in 1987.

Captain Hate,

I think Evan Bayh has retreated into a monastery or something. You never see him ANYWHERE around here! Maybe he is ashamed of his party. I know I would be!

Captain Hate

Did Shit Midas weigh in on the UK vote? Usually a rout like that has a Gaylord component.

This is a mental health worker:

More insights from Emma:

No Deal Brexit will put me in hospital. If I don't end up taking my own life during all of this everything I've slaved my arse off for my whole adult life will have come to sweet fuck all. But hey! Didn't you TELL Julie at work that Corbyn wasn't leader material?

But now it's UC and I've got no savings so that's five weeks down the foodbank. Of course because of how my mind works I'll have started starving myself in preparation. Oh also there's a supply issue with the drug that keeps me level so

I mean my job is going to become more precarious and pressured now, which will inevitably affect my mental health. With shards of the NHS remaining and nobody in their right mind going to provide insurance cover for someone with my history I'll be on the dole at some point

EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden's baby mama will get to grill the vice president's son under oath about money he made from Burisma and his ties to foreign companies as judge orders him to be deposed in the child support case before Christmas

HAHAHA! Too good to be true!! You know reporters are clawing over each other to get that plum assignment!

There is not one speck of me that worries about Doug Collins.

Captain Hate

Depending on how big the majority is, and how freaked out the Dems are (NONE of them have been paying attention to this, since the MSM has been putting a total embargo on news from this race) this MIGHT be enough of a shock to derail the Impeachment vote completely.
70 - 80 MP's from the old Parliament are losing their seats. You know that any House member on the bubble is going to be paying a lot of attention to those numbers, no matter their ideology.

THIS. The FEAR of the Left is that Trump's election in 2016 wasn't an aberration; That their jumping the shark on all issues, general destruction of all norms and customs, aggressive and violent behavior out on the streets, and their demonstrably crazy policy positions, have all operated to produce a silent but real ground shift of public opinion against Progressivism.

And, this Progressive movement is the same movement, in all ways that matter, as the Labour movement in the UK, and the EU movement.

This definitive Troy smack down can't make the US Democrats and philosophical Progressives sleep easy. It's like a silent stalking horse, whispering in the ear "maybe everything I believe in and think I know is wrong, and I've built my life and worldview on pack of lies sold to me by elite monied interests.

The Brexit vote forewarned/forecasted the Trump victory. The latest U.K. vote for Boris Johnson forecasts the next US election. People are tired of EU and US Democrat vindictiveness. People will say, enough already! Political power has gone beyond what freedom desires.

Under-reported: Are we to believe House Democrats sat on USMCA for a year, and just so happened to reach a deal as they were impeaching the President? Please.

They’re passing this during impeachment so the President’s win won’t get covered.

From the Spectator's Live UK Election Blog:

A sentence I never thought I would type, the Tories have taken Blyth Valley. The tectonic plates of British politics have shifted. The Brexit referendum and Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn’s leaderships have realigned British politics.
I found this perversely gratifying:
The way Huw Edwards is talking about the Blythe Valley ‘bundle recount’ suggests that the BBC has underestimated the scale of the Tory win.
It would be nice to hear that kind of thing on this side of the pond for a change.

Jim Eagle

The some of the results in the NE of England are worrisome for Labour who won those districts. If you add the Brexit votes to the Conservatives, the Tories win.

Labour is not a party that everyday folks feels comfortable with.

The biggest tell tale is how the Tory and Bexit party voted in contested consitutentsies. Labour is on a losing slide once the Tories and Brexit figure out how to join up into one party.

Watch the Labour "Leave" districts. That is where the disaster for Labour begins.

Alexthechick (hey I know her!) wrote on Twitter:

Let us review: The Steele dossier was used as the central basis for the FISA warrants, just as the crazies said and as the Super Duper Experts Who Are Totally Plugged In To All Kinds Of Access mocked.

The Steele dossier was full of lies and rumors and rumors of lies and not a thing in it was verified see re: rumor lies, just as the crazies said and as the How Dare You Insult The Integrity Of The Rank And File Of The FBI *bald eagle screech* caterwauled

Donald Trump was put under surveillance, just as the crazies said and as the Eyeroll Sure You Would Believe Anything You Cult 45 Member Plebe sneered

I hate being wrong. I hate humiliating myself in public by being wrong in public. When it happens, which it does because the Universe is fond of teaching me much needed humility, I go back and stop and think about how and why I was wrong so it doesn't happen again.

When I get fundamental premises about a situation completely wrong, I go back and review my premises. Why? It is not only because I hate to be wrong. It is because that is what you do if you are a thinking human being who cares about your own intellectual integrity.

To date, the only person who has made any public statement and apology about the crazies being right and he being wrong is Andrew McCarthy. Again, there may be others that I did not see but he is the only one in my awareness.

Years and years of sneering and smearing of people and not so subtle statements of we know things you don't and that's why we know, with absolute certainty, that you are crazies for doubting the integrity of the FBI whose agents gave false testimony in death penalty cases

Let us name names. Jonah Goldberg. David French and do not let him gaslight you otherwise. Bill Kristol. Pick a Bulwark writer. All of them were not only wrong but desperately wrong. They should be completely humiliated to have made the statements they've made. They are not.

People are calling for consequences for the actions of those who spent years being both desperately wrong and nastily so. There should be no need for that. If these Men Of Supreme Integrity Just Ask US were what they claimed to be, they would remove themselves from positions.

And yet. And yet, I have seen no sign of any possible recognition that they did a single thing wrong. Mayhap I missed it, and if so, my sincere apologies. But I do not think I did. It is thus reasonable to rub their noses in the filth they made and state bad dog! Bad! /fin

"Labour is not a party that everyday folks feels comfortable with."

Well, no kidding! Now let's see how comfortable everyday Americans are with Democrats! I don't think many will be comfortable with Elizabeth Warren or Pete Buttigieg!

JM Hanes

Can you shed some light on the Lib Dems? I know nothing about them at all!

President-Elect Jim,SunnyvaleCA

JiB: Exit poll: Conservatives 368 seats, Labor 191 seats, Lib Dems 191, SNP 55.

LibDems are more like 12 or 15.
They campaigned on a re-vote of BrExit

Nearly all Scottish seats went to SNP. The expected Conservative majority is in spite of losing a number of seats in Scotland.
Labour begins to argue: was their train wreck because of BrExit or their evil leader Corbyn? Personally... I'm embracing the power of "and".

Gosh, 95 must be really bad if someone would drive all the way over to 77 to avoid it. Google says that's another 2.5 hours in the car from NYC to St. Augustine.

jmh, have you driven 77 lately? It's pretty much total hell from Mooresville to Rock Hill these days, with lots of construction still going on around Lake Norman.

JiB, just do whatever WAZ tells you.
Trust the WAZ.

Bee strikes again:

Jim Eagle

We will need to go our early morning for full results ib in the UK. No digital ballots. all pencilled in and hand counted.

Tories win Swindon North by more then 8K more votes than in 2017!

The British pound surged, hitting its highest levels against the euro since shortly after the 2016 #Brexit referendum as Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party looked on course for a big parliamentary majority.

JM Hanes

I haven't driven the lower half of 77 in awhile, so I'll defer to your assessment. It just seemed like a lot of extra time to drive all the way west to Roanoke only to turn around and head back east through rural Virginia to get to 95. I don't know what's currently going on construction-wise pretty much anywhere at the moment.

Jim Eagle

Someone who has travelled 95 twice during the Christmas season, I avoid the NE corridor (NY, NJ,DE,MD,DC,VA on95) it is a cruel exercise of driving. Try it sometime.

If you want to cut time on your Christmas travel to Florida you avoid 95. Believe me in my route I will pick up more than the 2 hours I would lose on 95. Experience counts here.

I'm not watching returns but am seeing people saying that actual results are showing the Conservatives overperforming the exit polls. Shy Tory x2

Well if you want my two cents:

If you have an EZ-Pass, I-Pass or equivalent electronic toll RFID device, zipping past the construction on 77 isn't too bad North of Charlotte, so long as you try and time it outside of rush hour. 64 across WV/VA goes quite quickly as well. I just did part of that a few weeks ago, when we got to meet up all too briefly with JMH.
