OK, this was neither conciliatory nor well-planned by Warren:
Warren Told Sanders After Debate, ‘I Think You Called Me a Liar on National TV’
Bernie did NOT respond with "If the moccasin fits...", and mores the pity.
I don't think Warren will win a pissing match about credibility. Gail Heriot takes us back to Warren's medical bankruptcy "study", which at most revealed a crisis of disability insurance (and when a progressive has lost FactCheck...).
Warren's Fauxcahontas story is well known, as is her brilliantly planned Big Reveal that she might be 1/1024 Native American, so take that, Trump.
Let's not even mention Medicare For All, her "I was for it before I was for it but later" own goal.
And more recently, the WaPo took a look at her conveniently evolving standards on big dollar donations.
Warren is fighting the wrong battle with the wrong guy. Yet another display of poor judgment on her part.
I understand their policy of not disclosing sources and it makes some sense but it is just weird when they report on mysteries that they know the answer to but will not tell their readers.
It's like a knowing recipient of stolen goods saying the thief may have committed a crime.

This is a load of bunkum. It's based on predictions of savings based on 22 single payer plans, so of course a national single payer plan will save the country money as well.

Jane, my Mother died at 73, the very night the Packers won the Super Bowl 9 years ago. Her funeral was on JUNIORS 10TH birthday, and the day before MY birthday. She was EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT, and a OUT OF CONTROL ALCOHOLIC for many many years.
As a college student, I physically removed both of my younger brothers from the home that was TOXIC.
Before she died, I learned to love her as much as possible, and I forgave her for every pain she ever caused the family. I recognize that I would have NOTHING, no good trait that I have would be mine without her. She was very flawed, but she gave me everything AND LIFE.
I found her dead on the floor of her bedroom.
I am so so so grateful that it was ME who found her, and not someone who didn't love her as I did.

--Iggy, FWIW the borderline I was involved with was your first type. They can be absolutely charming when they want to be, but my G*d is there a price to pay.--
The "honeymoon" with a bordeline is extraordinary and not actually fake. It is the best they know how to do but they don't really have any idea how to love someone. Once that stage is gone, it seldom comes back and if so does so less frequently and for a shorter time until it's pretty much cra-cra all the time.
And BPD is usually co-morbid with bipolar, depression, NPD or a host of other problems. Self harm, substance abuse and risky impulsive behavior is very common. 75% threaten or attempt suicide. 8-10% succeed.
--My 95 year old mother is a textbook narcissist - and my only parent.--
You have my sympathies Jane. NPD is usually harder to live with than even BPD. I've come to consider them flip sides of the same coin. The classic narcissist erupts outwardly and makes victims of those around them. The borderline internalizes more and makes themselves the victims.
Interestingly NPD is almost completely untreatable while those with BPD who stick with the right therapy will have a remission rate of 70+ percent.

Ext,
Early on it is usually the least complicated relationship ever. That's how you get sucked in.
You can do no wrong, you are the best at everything, they cover you in kisses and generally act like Donna Reed crossed with Marilyn Monroe and a particularly nubile rabbit.
But while you're busy forming an attachment they're not.
Doc J's type is actually easier in some ways because they turn into such banshees you pray to God everyday they disappear and never come back.
My kind sucks you in and then calmly and coldly disappears leaving you standing there wondering WTH just happened.

GUS, it wasn't that signs were being stolen, it was use of technology to do it.
Ordinary sign-stealing, that old bit of game craft, is still very legal.
The reason batting averages are less than 50% is based on a lot of things but mostly that the pitcher knows what he's throwing but the batter doesn't. Teams try to change that by craft or guile but using electronic technology is a step way too far.
Posted by: Captain Hate | January 16, 2020 at 08:07 PM
A-bob, I get it. To me, it matters not. Why is using technology wrong here?? I'm not a classic baseball purist, ....but....there are enough rules already. If you can't outsmart those trying to steal signs with "technology", then beat the "thieves" by YOUR OWN use of technology.

Geez Iggy, apparently my mother has both. She certainly is always the victim, but she has a good outward push.
Actually I’ve refused to be her victim for a long time now. It’s tough stuff. But if you survive it, it sure as hell makes you stronger. My mother was interesting tho - she loved my sister because she had some special needs - until she got married and didn’t need her.
My condolences Gus. That had to be very tough!

A lot of things are like that, aren't they? There's explaining something and there is the readiness to hear it. There is doing something, and then there is the timing of it. Sometimes things work, or don't, because of conditions beyond our control, or even our ken on occasion.

Thank you Jane. I am completely at peace, and the fact that I found my Mom is a source of comfort to me. I could never EVER have imagined what happened. She wasn't sick, she just fell down dead. There are really no residual horror at all.
It almost seems unreal. But it happened. 2 years later, my Dad, the only father I ever knew, and despite marrying my widowed Mom when I was little, dropped dead in Winston-Salem pumping gas.
I cried and cried all day when my brothers and I went to his funeral, and supported his widow.
I cried like a frigging baby. I miss him, but the last words I ever said to him were "I love you Dad". THE DAY BEFORE.

Jane,
All Group B PDs try to paint themselves as the victims and profoundly hurt those around them. And both NPDs and BPDs have a defective core that they try to cover up. Though there is some, mostly prog, controversy around this, most narcissists are male and most borderlines are female. Their specific traits and defenses differ but the core issues are very similar.
And in a family there is very often an ugly triangle of a narcissist bestowing Golden child favor on one and scapegoating another. Just another form of control.

This is a pretty interesting comment by someone who just recently joined the Horde
I kind of get tired of repeating this but if you are not trying to get into your party apparatus or create a separate organization for a candidate, you will continue to see a line of jerks and fakes.
Jessie Helms created an organization that propelled him to a Senate seat in a state dominated by Democrats. He did it by constructing his own parallel source of donors, campaign workers, etc. that helped him win race after race despite the desperate attempts of the Democrats.
Trump did the same--he created his own organization (which Obama did as well fwiw). General party organizations exist to suck cash, direct it toward friends of the general party organization (consultants, financiers, lawyers, etc.) and keep out the riff-raff candidates the same way that a banker listens politely to folks that they are never going to give a loan to. They ghost them.
As an individual, you cannot fix the national parties, what you can do is start local and work your way up. Network, network, network, etc. which means engaging in the community. The votes are in the precincts and a person can easily sway several thousand votes with some work (same basic principle as influencers). Several people in network can sway mebbe 10,000 voters and so on.
Watching netflix, commenting on political blogs (other than Ace's of course), and bitching about stuff never works.
Reading assignment: Get Glenn Reynolds Army of Davids and for classical reading Take Back Your Government by Robert Heinlein. Then figure out how to transpose RAH's techniques into the modern techno framework of Army of Davids and you got game in politics.
BTW, at our local level, a small group of us got rid of a bought commissioner despite him outspending our candidate by about 10:1 and having endorsement from all the major suspects. We have beaten back developers with deep pockets, kept sanity on the schoolboards, influenced local Assembly critters and even a congress critter etc. You do have to spend time doing it which is what most people object to. By the time that it is too late, there is nothing to be done at that point.
Writing individual letters to congress critters, voting for them, and occasionally dropping a bit in the box, are all things that you should be doing anyway. But, rolling up your sleeves and building voter coalitions is the real work that conservatives can and must do to wrench control away from the corpocrats that seek to be our feudal overlords.
The change will not come from the top down--the Mitches, Burrs, etc. are made men in the sense of the COC mafia. You have to take out their lieutenants until they look around and no one is behind them anymore. That is the way you win the game.
Trump's folks can give you pointers but if you do not do the ground game, you will get crappy candidates like Roy Moore and lose a winnable Senate seat. To do that, you have to work within the system to push people to someone like Mo Brooks who could have won. To counter the rich guys buying the primary or the COC establishment candidate, you have to outwork them in the field because you will always lack the money that comes from self funders or COC bought candidates.

Yep. Last comment on this PD stuff, but even though I knew this chick was NPD and not capable of a relationship it wasn't until just a couple of days ago that I was watching this youtube of a former or recovering BPD explaining the issue of attachment that I finally "got it".
How could someone so head over heels and seemingly not really a bad person just a disordered one go from blazing hot and talking elopement one minute and then two days later coldly starting to break up when essentially nothing happened in between?
Turns out when some little trigger bursts that idealized bubble their unrealistic expectations are disappointed [as they always are] and because there is no attachment on her part, instead of working things out they run away because they fear abandonment is imminent and no attachment means nothing to fight for.
That, Ext is when things get very hard and very complicated and the guy is left with what PG Wodehouse described as the look of a chump who didn't know it was loaded.

Ig, God bless you. It's a mystery.
My first "real" girlfriend approached me at a casual high school dance. We called them "Commons dances" our little rec room at my high school was known as "the Commons". A cute girl in a cheerleader letter jacket approached me and asked if I was THEEEEE GUS. I said yes. Turns out she lived a block and a half from me and her Mom was my grade school music teach.
I was 17 she was 16.
After she dumped me, my Dad approached me, as I moped in my bedroom. He was going to make my pain go away.
"Son, I've got one thing to tell you.....PAUSE.......women don't think like men".
THAT WAS IT. A light went on a year or two later.

I probably should not add anything to the relationship discussion, but here I go anyway.
When I was a young pup, I thought I could get along with and live with nearly anyone. After a series of relationships -- and I've had a lot -- I realize how rare it is to find someone with whom one can share a life.
Some are fortunate enough to find it early. For others of us it comes later.
It is worth the time and the effort.

OK, one more on PDs. My sympathies are actually with the gal. 75% of these people suffered some type of abuse or neglect as kids and the result is a miserable existence.
The glimpses of the real girl revealed an extraordinary woman. That's who God made. But the world laid a very different girl over the top of that one and she feels frightened, anxious, stressed, empty, lonely, confused, angry and most of all alone.
My heart breaks for her and so I will make one attempt to nudge her toward self awareness and help. Whether she ever tries to heal is up to her.

I’ve got around 4000 songs on my IPhone that I shuffle thru on the drive to and from work everyday. This was one of the songs that played today and IMO one of his best. I’ve got no relationship advice for Iggy but figured I would share this.

Miss M, in retrospect, it's painful to watch.
Anderson's Pooooper, takes the position, that FISA warrants were honest and without blemish.

Loyalty can of course come from birth or adoption, but the founders, as revolutionary conservatives, were all about sensible and practical restraints and precautions.
Restricting the presidency to NBCs is a prudent restriction that lessens, but doesn't eliminate the likelihood of divided or foreign loyalty.

Miss M, I not only have no followers. I have no posts. The “follower” snobs crack me up, and I take any tweeter who says that less seriously. The main reason I have an account is to monitor what my vendors and competitors are up to.
