Only two of the four fence-sitting Republican Senators (Murkowski and Romney) will vote to hear witnesses, so barring a surprise the Senate trial is expected to wind down next week. Iowa caucuses Monday, Trump's State of the Union on Tuesday night, Trump's acquittal on Wednesday - who makes these schedules?
Jim, IMO Salena’s formula seems to be getting a little long in the tooth. She did some amazing work in 2006 working a lot of back roads, and called it correctly. But I don’t think Trump is sneaking up on anyone anymore.

AB,
I like Salena's articles, maybe it's confirmation bias.
I do think there are people that couldn't pull the lever for Trump in 2016 who will be happy to do so this year.
Especially if we get another Hillary-type candidate on the other side.

I get that Jim. As “ledge” as I am, it is nice to hear the positive stories. I wish we’d be hearing and reading more of what comes after Trump. People should be getting groomed to continue Trumpism.

Mock is a poor word choice. Legitimately question the contents thereof would be much better.
SOF forces may be over-used and possibly poorly led, but let's blame the tip of the spear for over-exuberance. Yes, there may be some bad apples. There might just as easily be too many Monday morning quarterbacks (military investigators and lawyers included).
Posted by: jim nj | February 02, 2020 at 03:06 AM
Sweet dreams AB,
It's like that question, "What would we do without news?"
Well, we'd be poorly informed and have difficulty forming reasonable opinions. Kind of like where we already are having to wade through so much biased news to find the real thing.
I think that's why we have discovered "brand names" in reportage that have value to us.
They may fall into seemingly doing the same "schtick," over and over again, but that's a measure of consistency that liberal have long become accustomed to with their "guiding lights."

https://breakingdefense.com/2020/01/poles-eyes-on-russia-sign-4-6b-f-35-deal/
“The United States welcomes the Polish government’s decision to purchase 32 F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft worth $4.6 billion under the Foreign Military Sales program,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement. The original State Department approval allowed for a price as high as $6.5 billion."
This is a good move for both Poland and the US.
"The F-35As will replace existing Sukhoi Su-22 and Mikoyan MiG-29 Russian aircraft. Poland already flies 48 F-16s."
It's a little crass, of course, but if you want a defense pact, spend some money on US weapons instead of some Euro-shit.
Tactically, it makes great sense because of the interoperability of the F-35's. If needed, because they can share data links, Polish and US F-35's can act as a combined uniform force.
Poland seems to be a much more astute ally than Germany. I guess that's what happens when Poland is on the front-line and Germany thinks, well, they have to get through the Poles to get to us.

This is the second story on the same subject I've seen in two days. Smells like a PR push.
Granted that the USS Ford has so many new technologies that it is in effect a laboratory for re-training Nimitz-class seamen, but this is just another shortfall.
Maybe I'm missing something, or mis-interpretating something, but they should, at this point, be revising maintenance manuals, not writing them.

The Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, don’t want justice when pushing the Impeachment Hoax, they only want to destabilize the Republican Party so they can do better in the 2020 election, & that includes the House & Senate. They are playing with the people by taking it this far!

Great Pieces, Clarice.
Now a little Florida senior citizen humor:
(1)
A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor in Juno
Beach , and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool.
After catching his breath he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?'
'No,' he replied, 'hemorrhoids.
(2)
A little old lady was sitting on a park bench in The Villages, a
Florida Adult community.
A man walked over and sits down on the other end of the bench.
After a few moments, the woman asks, 'Are you a stranger here?'
He replies, 'I lived here years ago.'
'So, where were you all these years?'
'In prison,' he says.
'Why did they put you in prison?'
He looked at her, and very quietly said, 'I killed my wife.'
'Oh!' said the woman. 'So you're single...?!'

On the topic of the Senators from the South comment that Taranto ridiculed: it should be pointed out that 100% of the House members who voted to impeach Mr Trump are members of the party that founded the Ku Klux Klan after they lost the Civil War. In other words, the Coup Clutz Clan are just carrying out their history with a new spelling.
