Jane,

She says she is pretty sure that they announced that Rand was submitting a question, then they brought it forward and Roberts wouldn't read it. She assumed it was the same question from yesterday, which it turns out it was (or very siilar to).

Melinda

Which I will go on record saying it tastes better than hand sanitizer.

Just by a little.

Jane

I just clapped for Sekulow who nailed Leahy, Menedez and (I forget) for sending a letter to Ukraine asking then to help Mueller investigate Trump while bitching that no foreign powers should be involved in US investigations.

The scum!

Theo

Jane —

Thank you for your advice. I will give it the weight it deserves.

I disagree with your premise for what it is worth. I think it is important to critically analyze the available information. Simply believing something because we wish it to be true is the modus operandi of liberals. We should be better than that b

KevlarKid

"Theo, give it a rest - you have been harping humping on something you have no proof of since you came back. You will never know the answer, so please shut up about it."

FIFY ...a different level of resolve.

Jane

"She says she is pretty sure that they announced that Rand was submitting a question"

I missed that. Ask her if it was the 1st question from our side.

D

I still think the whistleblower question can come in if his name is not mentioned.
I hope Rand Paul trues again and that someone asks both sides to answer Schiff’s team interacting and preparing the whistleblower testimony to the IG.
Dems are recycling the same questions.
We need Repubs to throw a bomb at Schiff and force the Dems to respond to the ongoing personal vendetta of WB to Trump snd his election.
The idea of bias and conflict of interest must be brought out.

Tom R

You will never know the answer, so please shut up about it.

What's the over/under on the number of people who would lambast me if I addressed someone rudely like this?

Theo

TomR —

I did not find Jane’s comment to be rude. After all, she did say “please.”

I have no problem with her expressing annoyance with things that I post. I wish that she was not annoyed by them, but we are not going to always agree.

Jane

Jib,

Is it cold there? It was cold this morning, then warmed up about 9:30 and was freezing again by 10:30.

The weather channel says it's 63 but I'm sure it's lying.

Telsi Gabbard just asked a question that put Schiff on his heels.

KevlarKid

is it probable or likely that Cimderella has been snagged by his nasty little kiwis in the Barr/Durham investigations?

Jane

I apologize for posting so much - blsme it on the fact I'm inside due to the blizzard. But listening to Schiff bitch about delaying aid for 20 days just blows my mind.

MissMarple2

Jane,

She says it was the first question of the day from our side. She also adds that Roberts wouldn't read it and said something about the whistle blower, but Rand posted it on Twitter with the names and read their names in his press conference, so Roberts knows who the whistle blower is.

Jane

More yadi ya from me. This morning my gay hairdresser - who I love, told me he went to a party (of gay people) about 18 years ago and Pete Buttelgeg (whatever) was there with his date, who was black. Since we hear constantly that he was racist as the South Bend Mayor, I found that interesting.

MissMarple2

Jane,

I am now going to run my noisy vacuum so won't hear any text signals or be here to read your questions for a bit.

Give me 20-30 minutes.

We're gonna need a bigger blog.

Interesting MM, that was the only question I missed. Who knew Justice Roberts had that power.

KevlarKid

Is it likely that the Obama WH TOADIE Ciamarella Yella is a threat to The Chocolate Messiah's plausible deniability about a sig number of dirty tricks? al-Quds Brennan's too?

BREAKING: WHO declares China coronavirus that’s killed 171 a global health emergency

Jim Eagle

Today, on my iPad, I could not navigate to this last page of this post. Could get past the other pages but when it got to this page it would complete about 1/3rd of the request. Shut down all tabs, restarted the iPad. Same result.

Is there a code anomaly with different pages?

On my laptop, no problem only navigating on the iPad and only this one page.

Another Bob

So why doesn’t Rand just read it on the floor? Why is Roberts filtering thus in the first place?

D

Peter:
I see the irony and Hillary is not used to being held accountable
Her usual reaction is to lie about it or blame others.
Eventually she will have to accept it and what authority does the SS have to refuse it?
Agree with Jane stop beating the dead horse.
As Clarice has stated it is tiresome and uninformative.

hrtshpdbox

So, there is an element of hygiene theater at play here.

My wife had a knee done. Pre-op, the doctor opened a package containing a new Sharpie, drew a circle on my wife's knee, and threw the Sharpie in the garbage (reason they do it is so they don't operate on the wrong limb, I suppose). I just thought the waste involved was sort of odd.

henry

JiB, when that happens I clear cookies. TyphusPad loads too many ad trackers and never gets rid of them. They fill memory or something.

Theo

AB —

Thanks for the suggestion, but no thanks.

God forbid we discuss major current events on a political blog.

Another Bob

hsb, yes avoiding the wrong limb. There was probably a second person there witnessing/confirming it.

Sharpie went to the trash because it touched her and cannot be sanitized.

A global health emergency in which people from the affected region continue to be allowed to travel freely all over the globe.

hrtshpdbox

Imagine if they have witnesses. Maybe the defense can say, "we call Mr. or Mrs. or non-cisgendered Whistleblower to the stand. He, she, or it is located inside that big box over there, and their voice will be altered electronically. So, Mr. Ciara...uh, I mean, non-specified gendered Whistleblower, where were you on the night of...", etc.

Theo

I don’t think that Roberts has all that much power over these proceedings. Any ruling he makes can be overruled by a majority vote of the Senators present. My guess is that Cocaine Mitch does not want a vote on Rand Paul’s question because (a) they might not have the votes and (b) it’s not worth it.

Jim Eagle

jane,

We have a turbulent running sea with 10-15 foot waves rusing ashore from the NNE on a wind of about 20-25MPH but partly sunny and a temp of 62F which feels more like 48F.Lots of golfers out since it is not raining.

Thanks, henry.

Box, My Ortho signed his initials on my knee. SOP for any replacement surgery. When I had the staples (nay stitches:) removed by my local Ortho's PA, the damn initials were still there.

Another Bob

You’re not discussing anything Tom, you’re just beating the same drums like the windup monkey.

Robin, eff 'em all

Since we hear constantly that he was racist as the South Bend Mayor, I found that interesting.

I don't think anyone claims that he is racist, simply that the black community has suffered under his leadership in South Bend.

henry

Trump just tweeted three sets of pics of wall construction. (FYI)

Corona virus just declared to be global emergency by WHO.

Wash your hands, get plenty of sleep, don't pick your nose or rub your eyes without washing your hands first.
I am a BIG fan of zinc lozenges (since we can no longer buy the nasal gel) IRT colds; not sure if will be as effective for corona, but not much downside to stocking up and using it before going out in crowds or flying.

Mushrooms are good for immunity.
And chicken broth does something positive for pulmonary function.

hrtshp--- seems like overkill but it's a mundane form of medical waste, seemingly innocuous.

but, as i'm sure you appreciate, bacteria travels like the flea on back of a dog

the infection incidence rate in hospitals is bad enough. and then there are these portable cmputer units bedside that no one seemed to mind keyboarding before tending to me or before going onto the next poor slob's "care".

keyboard slime spreads mrsa due to user habits of touching their noses. i got my nose swabbed/disinfected 3 times before surgery.

henry,

I hear that today in some WALL locale the winds were so bad they couldn't erect portions of the wall.

It can get windy in West Texas, that is where they invented the Texas Wedge in golf (i.e. Putter).

Does anyone see the irony of Hillary Clinton, who criticized Trump in 2016 (it turned out to be a moot issue) for not accepting results of an election, herself not accepting that she is being served with a lawsuit?

Introspection and self-reflection have never been Hillary's strong (pant)suit.

Tom R

AB @ 3:02

I'm discussing the new information surrounding the Flynn filing from yesterday. Since I am not discussing the possibility Flynn is running a sting operation, your accusation that I am "beating the same drum" makes zero sense.

Also, if anyone is going to throw a Super Bowl party, you may want to take advantage of this advice from Delish. I use their suggestions and recipes a lot. Never gone wrong.

a compromised immune system leaves the door open for viral and bacterial infections to weaken it further, even if the impacts aren't fatal.

adding to a-mom's list of go-to's a) consistent morning, noon, night water intake; b) ascorbic acid--- daily; c) mineral supplement; d) uninterrupted sleep.

I just thought the waste involved was sort of odd

It does look wasteful, but here's what may happen if he did't toss that marker:

Her knee got infected from him reusing a marker he used on another patient, she has to have another operation in a month to take out the hardware, she's in a wheelchair for months while she gets IV antibiotics at home after a week in the hospital before she had a clean joint to have another go round?
You pay a $6000 deductible on both surgeries, as it happens in November and January, and then 20% or whatever?

If she works, she loses at least four months wages.

For a thirty cent (wholesale) marker.
(Which you may well have been billed $3 or $30 for).

Having one's kids in public school may seem like child abuse to some, but it is a decision some of us make on a case by case basis.

Our son was homeschooled because it was clear that 1) he was bored out of his mind, and 2) the school very much wanted him tested for ADHD (which can apparently manifest as daydreaming and inattention - who knew that boredom was so fancy). Our daughter is a much more straightforward learner, a pleaser, and extremely social, so homeschooling didn't have much appeal for her. We're lucky to have an alternative ms/hs in our district, which has its challenges, but is ideal for self-motivated students. The work she is doing as an 8th grader is sophisticated and very advanced.

This alternative school also has a very left-wing component to its curriculum, so we spend a lot of time pushing back to leadership and at the dinner table. Our girl will understand not only that there are two sides most of the current issues, but will have a good enough understanding to argue both sides, which might not be something her classmates would hear otherwise.

Personally, I think that students seeing this left-wing system in action with parents responding rationally is the best guarantee of GenZ being far more conservative than my X'ers or the Millennials.

Here is the thread henry mentioned which has 5 tweets, each with groupings of 4 pictures.

Introspection and self-reflection have never been Hillary's strong (pant)suit.

Nor Schiiff's, as he stands in the well of the Senate expressing outrage--OUTRAGE--that the POTUS would investigate a rival!
And demanding that the Senators never allow anyone to do that again.

IMAGINE anybody ever doing that??!!!
