I'd like to see Kansas City and Green Bay advance so we can spend two weeks re-hashing Super Bowl I. However, my Bold Prediction is that we get KC and San Francisco.

The kids brought that book by and I have decided that it is so good I am parceling out the reading. I just finished the introduction, and even that is fascinating.
Let me at this point drop some information I learned and posted on the prior thread (from an article I linked from Twitter, not from Doug Wead's book):
For FIVE YEARS John Brennan, known Communist, Islamic sympathizer, and CIA Director, had his office in the West Wing of the White House. Not AN office but HIS ONLY OFFICE.
I always thought the CIA Director worked out of CIA HQ at Langley, Virginia. Having one headquartered in the West Wing seems HIGHLY unusual and a bit suspicious, to say the least.

That is not what the Tweet says, and I don't see any link there to an article.

It really irritates me when gov't offices issue image only PDFs, but here is a text copy of President Trump's Answer to the articles of impeachment, in case you want to excerpt anything from it.
If you're going to quote it, however, I suggest you check it against the actual PDF, because the OCR used to convert it substitutes question marks for fi, fl, ", - , " among other artifacts. It also left out "Volodymyr Zelenskyy" completely on one line. You can access the PDF on the tab bar at the same site above.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Brennan_(CIA_officer)
Well, it looks to me like there has been some confusion. Brennan worked for the CIA for 25 years, and then got appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor which required no Senate Confirmation, and THAT was when he had the office at the White House (which was his ONLY office but he was NOT CIA Director at that time.)
Obama appointed him to succeed Petraeus, and that is when he got confirmed as CIA Director and then moved to Langley.
I apologize for the confusion, although he IS close to Obama, and now works for NBC News as a consultant.

Shocking that Mayor Petey was turning South Bend into Gary 2, which the AAs would be well aware of hence their negative attitude. That Bannon interview was excellent, MM. Thanks for reposting for those of us who missed it the first time through.
I rather like the idea of the WH being run by people proficient in game theory. They react quickly and decisively to rising situations and seem to always take the offensive position.
That said, I'm looking forward to the SOTU, which in theory could be a very good summary of what happened during the impeachment trial as it should wrap up just around that time. No doubt Pelosi and Schumer are not happy that the President will have such a large bully pulpit, which I fully expect him to use to his advantage. And who will be sitting with the First Lady?

clarice,
I am SO tired of the prissy conservatives. HOW do they expect to attract younger people, who hear much worse stuff in music lyrics on the radio?
I am a 71-year-old grandmother. Although I don't use that word, hearing it doesn't cause me to clutch my pearls. Good grief!
I believe some of the complainers on certain sites are actually trying to create the impression that certain words are not only unacceptable but indicate bad character, and support should be withdrawn from those candidates. In other words, they are leftists PRETENDING to be offended.
Well, I am not buying into that thinking. One of the best podcasts I watch during the week is run by a young guy whose language is liberally salted with 4-letter words; it also has good strategic observations about what's going on in DC and an optimistic outlook on what the President is doing.
I LOVED your column this week, and Iggy's observations, too. Ignore those carpers.

When I was in high school my American History teacher would outline issues that caused controversy in different eras of our country's history, and have us discuss them. It might be Prohibition, slavery, school prayer, women's suffrage, etc.
We were expected to take a position based on OUR thinking, and discuss it politely. It was an excellent way to learn debating, and a good exposure to differrent ways of thinking.
In most schools, most of that type of discussion wouldn't be allowed today, which is a shame.

Consider that his numbers were attained with half a career. He walked away from a situation he could have stayed with at least another ten years.

Posted by: Captain Hate | January 19, 2020 at 04:56 PM
9 times before his SB win and he couldn’t close the deal. Yeah as a student of the game he has more important playoff wins than wins. And finally he wins the SB? What’s his record?
Coryell should be a no brainer. Learn a lot about NFL HOF nominees working with Tom Mack before he finally got accepted.

Wins 149-111 Cowher.
Win percentage .619-.561 Cowher.
Playoff appearances 21-9 Cowher.
Coryell surely innovated more. But he was not as well-rounded as a coach, more or less abdicating defensive coaching responsibilities.
I’ve no objection to Coryell going in, but Coryell as some objection to Cowher doesn’t fly.
And yes, Cowher going to TV didn’t hurt.

Elizabeth Warren
@ewarren
Amazon made over $10 billion in profits but paid $0 in federal income taxes in 2018. That won’t happen when I'm president. Use this calculator to find out how much big corporations would pay when they pay their fair share.
Here's a link to her stupid calculator:
https://elizabethwarren.com/calculator/real-corporate-profit-tax?source=soc-WB-ew-tw
===========================================
Now, if I remember correctly, income tax is not the same as corporate tax. I would like an easy way to explain how misleading Warren's "calculator" is so that I have an answer when this comes up later this year, which in my house it will.
I do not trust her nor anything she puts out as policy or statistics to back that policy up. She is a proven liar.

Yahoo piggybacks on the NYT to say that the idea that Pelosi delayed the articles to benefit Biden is a conspiracy theory promulgated by the Trump side, "without evidence":
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-spreading-conspiracy-theory-pelosi-151723228.html"--
Yahoo is a liberal site with liberal commenters, but I read the first 200-300 comments, and they all throw scorn on the "conspiracy" idea, pointing out, quite rightly, that it's just common sense--of course that's what she did. Cheering to read, really. I bet the next 7,000 comments said roughly the same, since NONE of the ones I read defended the NYT take.
