We seem to be in the late innings of the impeachment "drama". Per the NY Times:
Republicans are optimistic they will be able to wrap up President Trump’s impeachment trial without hearing from additional witnesses like the former national security adviser, John R. Bolton. But Democrats are hinting at a gambit to frustrate the Republicans’ plans, though Senator Chuck Schumer, the minority leader, has refused to tip his hand.
A gambit to stretch this out so the nation will ignore the Super Bowl, the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. Real Men of Genius are working on this. And Women! (No word on whom Warren envisions as Not-So-Free Speech Czar but I bet it'll be a doozy.)
I saw it, jimmy. It was great. He and his entourage waved little British desk flags at the end and was cut off and admonished for breaking the no flags rule after his goodbye speech. Epic.

I've been listening to the Impeachment proceedings before the Senate on and off or the past couple of days and am frustrated by the House Managers wandering arguments some of which bear little or no relation to the two actual charges.
As the questions continue, Schiff seems to be trying to expand his already weak case. This endless process is extremely frustrating as they cover the same territory over and over again. What purpose does the Chief Justice serve? Is there an agreed upon time period for these repetitive questions? Is it against the rules to put a gag on Schiff for his whiny, annoying answers?
Enough. Vote and put and end to this nonsense.

Someone should remind the “political editor of theroot.com” that, in fact, the government can make rules to ensure that non citizens, felons and dead people don’t vote. And it’s also a fundamental power stipulated in the Constitution that the government can decide how many and which immigrants are allowed to enter the country.

The hippie looking dude is the current head of our nearly retired Common Sense Alliance that was the starting point for beating back the encroachment of gummint control of our property use. This case is just the opposite situation of the two tier game we are obviously seeing on a much grander scale nationally. Which is why I call this the mud puddle state, not quite the Derp State.
The host, Glen and the one atty Nick, are our pals who just love kicking the progs in the balls. Glen is the one who singlehandedly took over the town of SeaTac and ran the progs out of town. The result of that effort was a new ordinance that requires every penny spent be published on a town website for all to scrutinize.

There's a program called BUFKIT that's easily found and free. Developed by the National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY, it is able to automatically download all the big weather models for whatever cities are desired and produce a very detailed graphic forecast.
There are a number of models used by the NWS, some more near-term and others longer-term, but BUFKIT can display them all. No need for any other weather forecasts because these models are where they all come from.

From our county health dept. Came out today.
The part about avoiding medical facilities if possible makes sense. More risk than reward unless you are gravely ill.
Still, I wonder.
If there are no symptoms for up to 2 weeks, is it wise to suggest NOT wearing masks?
Snipped from a longer msg:
One thing we do not know is whether masks will protect you from this virus, mainly because there is no evidence of person-to-person spread in our community right now. Our best advice right now is you don't need to wear a mask since there is little risk of getting the illness.
The one exception is if you are sick with respiratory symptoms like fever, cough, or shortness of breath – wear a mask to protect others. Simple surgical masks can help prevent spreading the flu and other viruses to your family, friends, colleagues, and community.
People who have traveled to where virus is circulating should closely monitor their health for 14 days after they have returned. If you begin to get sick with a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and wear a mask around others in your household. Call your healthcare provider and let them know your travel history and your symptoms.
If you have mild symptoms like a cough, runny nose, or sore throat, you do not need to go to a hospital emergency department. Please do not go to an emergency department unless your symptoms are more severe, such as having difficulty breathing.

Some possible outcomes here:
1. No witnesses are called and Trump is acquitted. The Dems carry on until November about a coverup and how the trial was not legitimate. Given that polling shows that 75% or so say (key word there, say) they want witnesses, this might gain some traction.
2. Bolton is allowed to testify and says whatever he says. He is cross examined about his lack of gruntlement and his desire to sell books and past instances of being untrustworthy. Given that the ratings for peach mint have been very low and that since NO minds have changed in months, it seems likely his testimony does nothing. Sure the Dems will still scream coverup but it will be much easier to refute.
3. Same as 2 but throw in Hunter Biden and/or whomever.
I am sure Mitch knows what he is doing, but I am not convinced that #1 is the best option. Sure it would be annoying to give the Dems the short term satisfaction of getting Bolton but in the long run it might be the better play.

Is the “whistleblower” an actual whistleblower under the law? My recollection of the IC IG report suggests not.
The IC IG, Atkinson, not only treated the supposed whistleblower as a whistleblower, he apparently went out of his way to do so; changing the whistleblower form to allow for hearsay reports.
It was the DoJ Office of Legal Counsel that questioned the whistleblower status.
