Here we go.
I am intrigued by Iran's admission of responsibility for the airliner shoot-down. Apparently they may have set back Operation National Unity, their attempt to provoke a foreign crisis to distract from domestic woes:
In Iran, a debate over how much blame the government bears threatened to destroy the national solidarity that followed the country’s conflict with the United States. Many Iranians said that their anger over the lack of accountability at the highest levels of government had quickly returned.
However, they were in a bit of a box. Another Iranian goal is to present themselves to the international community as the more credible and responsible negotiating partner vis a vis Trump. Shooting down airliners is not helpful but pretending they weren't at fault would have been worse.
Oh, darn, just posted on the other thread. :)

Rick Grenell running for President could further drive a stake into the shriveled heart of the Uniparty. He's been outspokenly supportive of DJT and could drive Homo Inc. more insane than Pence. 49 state (Utah FTL) blowout?

Good Morning! Speaking of Mayor Pete, he's running lots of ads on local NH media. The ads are shallow, feel good cliches. For the amount of money he's probably spending the ads aren't impressive.
I'm off to spend more time with my mother. I observed her physical therapy session yesterday. She's making slow progress. I had to smile because Sinatra was playing in the PT room. Ha,imagine the music when we're in the nursing home. Anyway,my mother thinks she's going home in a month. Not happening.

Think Jim nj posted this and it has a great line :) about an eyedropper & brainwashing:
"Effectively this requires inviting Turkey and Russia to exercise influence in the region on a tolerable basis of respect for human rights, while ensuring that they are rigorously opposed to any propagation of terrorist activity and don’t endanger Israel. Any such ambition runs afoul of the current Democratic hysteria about Russia, which arose in their shock at being defeated in the 2016 election and their instant conjuration and brainwashing of their obedient media (it could have been done with an eye-dropper) that Russia had colluded with Trump to win a bogus presidential mandate."

I agree completely. People don't realize how automated, and deadly, modern weapons systems are. (like Russian made AA) They are Fire and Forget systems - all it takes is one idiot punching a button, and BOOM. I've read some say that this particular system could be set on auto, so the operators may not have even realized it was about to fire.
Letting the Iranians have weapons systems like this is like giving a room of five year old boys fully loaded AK-47's to play with. And then being surprised when someone gets shot.

"While protecting nuclear assets remains a vital mission, particularly for already established bastions, newer installations are taking on other roles. This is clearly visible as strategists examine how China and Russia are employing an offensive bastion strategy to tilt regional balances of power and extend their global influence."

Alphabet’s controversial chief legal officer, David Drummond, is leaving the company, effective January 31.
Drummond, a top executive of nearly 20 years, was being scrutinized as part of a board investigation into the company’s handling of sexual misconduct for claims that he had inappropriate relationships with other employees. The probe also included the response to allegations against Android creator Andy Rubin, who reportedly received a $90 million exit package after the company found sexual assault claims against him credible (Rubin denied wrongdoing at the time of the report).
A company spokesperson said that Drummond will not be receiving an exit package.
This "inappropriate relationships with other employees" may or may not be true, but it has become the new "out" when the company officer has done great harm to the company.
Nobody at Intel believes that CEO Brian Krzanich stepped down over an "inappropriate relationship", but rather it was his failure to make the 10nm process work, that cost the company billions, that cost him his job.
This makes me wonder what foul Drummond performed in the legal department.

I think the mullahs are in a real dilemma. They raised gas prices and blew all of that $150 billion on shitty missiles. Then they lose Siegfried and Schtarker.
They shatter their myth of competence, control, and power by shooting down an airliner and then scrape the pieces to try and cover it up but fail. This is going to empower the opposition I think.
In other news Israel just started pumping NG from both of their massive fields and is building a pipeline from those fields to Cyprus and then Greece and Italy and Western Europe.
I would like to have the NG powered bus and truck concession for Israel just about now. I can see taxis going that way as well.
That leverage the Mideast had has been de-leveraged. The Gulf Arabs will be okay, but I have to believe the Iranians are screwed.
This huge surge of NG production in places like the Coral Sea, the States and now Israel isn't even getting much press. It is not only changing the geopolitical map, but it will have a massive impact on CO2 and air pollution if it continues.
My vision is of scavengers pillaging solar arrays for the silver that is in most panels and German children playing in pristine parks as the wind farms stand silent.
The Israeli fields may well dwarf the fields NORD is drawing from, putting even more pressure on Russia and the idiotic German establishment.
All courtesy of some American wildcatters.
