I was a little worried Trump would get a little carried away, but no. Fine job with the Command.

Thanks, JMH. I appreciate that you can’t help me anymore than the quote you provided.

We will disagree to agree on how that quote was intended.

Thomas Collins,

I think I made it manifestly clear that I was not suggesting that my path was best choice for anyone else. I shared my own experience. If you'd like to dispute my one categorical statement about reality not always being cold and hard, please do.

Another Bob

Bah. Aren’t taking the Beast up onto the banking.

Threadkiller

The optimists have turned this thread into a bummer.

I think I will go weld something.

Threadkiller

I’ll bet the rear sway bar on The Beast is 2inchs thick, AB. It should go into the bank fine at speed and come out like a thrown axe.

TK:

I think that's what's called making an exit.

Threadkiller

:-)

Another Bob

At 60mph TK? Nah, it’d be fine.

Threadkiller

By “at speed,” I’m thinking well above 60mph, AB.

Threadkiller

Nonetheless I would have the driver go as high into the bank as possible so Melanie falls into my lap.

Threadkiller

Another Bob

I’m picking up what you’re putting down TK.

In that case you want a nice slow speed...

Another Bob

Had the opportunity to get on the banking at Bristol. Feels WAY more comfortable at 60 than it did at 25.

I happen to agree with the thought you expressed in the last paragraph, JMH. I was commenting on your categorical statement in light of your classification of my optimism/pessimism post as condescending, and your comment on who am I to purport to tutor. Whether or not I happen to agree with you, I have always found your postings here and on your personal blog thoughtful. Perhaps that is why your "cuppa" post caught my attention. I just don't understand how my remark might have been classified as condescending. Flat out wrong and crazy, perhaps, for those with a different take, but not condescending. I think perhaps I just need to accept that a poster I respect very much made a classification that I simply don't understand.

Captain Hate

CH, I wasn’t condescending — just didn’t know another way to respond than to treat it with humor. Was not at all interested in ticking you off. Too much respect for what you say to do anything like that.

We're cool. Going to the grocery store and dealing with people there provides a good reality check.

A guy drove up, parked close by and I heard pretty music coming out the window.
I asked, he answered "John Mayer".

But I didn't ask the track name.

So, you Mayer fans, what are some titles of bluesy instrumental guitar numbers that might be what I heard?
