Good afternoon! It is a bit chilly for a beach walk today,so we took a ride along Casey Key. The Gulf water is beautiful, every color from green to blue to the white froth of the surf. Driving back we saw someone walking two beautiful, sleek looking white dogs. I said to hubby, I think they are Great Danes. They were white with some black spots. They were certainly not Dalmatians, too big! As soon as we got back to the house, I looked up white Great Danes. Yes,Great Danes can be white with black markings. Very impressive dogs.

I was remembering being in London when the Brits won the World Cup in soccer, not rugby. That would have been 1966, when they beat West Germany. I gather it was the first (and only) time they won it, which would explain the massive celebration in the streets. Piccadilly was a madhouse.

JiB, the next vid was a longer highlight film for the game. It showed the Hurst goal from an angle I hadn’t seen before... from just behind the goalpost. The ball clearly passed the goal line. Which surprised me, I thought it was barely but not completely over the line as well.
Nonetheless, you have to win in spite of blind refs. Germany didn’t.

I'm not convinced that Facebook, Twitter etc are actually doing the policing. I think there are whole cadres of lefties who live to report conservative posters/twitterers and that HQ relies heavily on those reports to direct them to "sensitive" content. That revelation came to me when I landed on a twitter page where whole blocks of totally harmless videos were sequestered. It seemed obvious that somebody, or bodies, had just started with the post they didn't like and then just run down the page reporting tweets from there.

Very true. I do think it's a pretty safe bet that Democrats as a whole are not as far left as Bernie and AOC. Those two have energetic, but self-limiting, constituencies. Last time I think Bernie got a lot of votes from Dems who just didn't like Hillary much more than we did. Of course, I doubt those folks are any happier with the idea of Liz Warren. OTOH, in the past 5 years or so, I've heard more people actually admit that they are socialists, than I've ever heard in the past, and I mean people who ought to know better, not callow youths.

How is he going to appear in public with foreign leaders, when he looks like a little shrimp? Some leaders will be taller than he is!

Korea was for centuries the Hermit Kingdom. Like Japan, they killed any foreigners who came ashore.
Their great national victory is when Admiral Yi defeated the Japanese navy with his turtle ships.
Koreans think their country is the center of the universe just as the Japanese and Chinese do. A very interesting dynamic that has been playing out for thousands of years.
