Trey Gowdy appears purple-tied on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the ongoing DOJ/FBI revelations from document releases related to the Michael Flynn prosecution.
After numerous appearances in 2018 and 2019 proclaiming the integrity of Robert Mueller, IG Horowitz and FBI leadership, Trey Gowdy now holds a divergent perspective. Perhaps because he is now a paid Fox contributor, Ms. Bartiromo never asks Gowdy to reconcile previous assertions against current information. Additionally, Gowdy says there’s no reason to take the investigation to former President Obama because the current spotlight reaches high enough. WATCH:
I've been struck over the years with how the pundits on both sides fixate on the also-rans of the presidential nominating contest and then so often the pick has nothing to do with any of the former rivals--Pence and Palin for recent examples on the R side, Biden on the D. I think there are loads of reasons to not pick someone who has run against you--first and foremost, they've called you names (like GHW's "voodoo economics" for Reagan or Kamala's blasts at Biden), but also you want a fresh face for the publicity and the freshness--your other rivals were already rejected.
Ha! Youngest just told us that Roger Goodall had an auction to watch a Monday Night Football game in his study with him - apparently she and my husband watched this offer during the draft. The winner? The Bar Stool sports guy who has been making fun of him all along. Pretty funny. (If it’s actually true).

Super thin, jimmyk--but that's just fine from our end. And it was thin at the start--for all those D contenders months ago, none of them seemed to me as if they could possibly beat Trump (including Biden, of course)--none were even within shouting distance. They have no bench--and this is mostly O's fault, as he depleted all the governors and state reps on his side.
You know the past week has had some real bombshells.
But I'm still having a hard time thinking anything is more important in the long run than German Intelligence, not the US or UK, but the Krauts letting us know that effing pig Xi was still asking the WHO to deny human-to-human transmission on January 21st! And to not name it a pandemic.
By then, even the WHO had to balk at the former.
How does that not indicate the infection of the rest of the world was anything but accidental?
Wait, I'm not sure that means what I wanted it to mean.

Yeah Jim, there’s that. But the big three have, for a while, been selling certain vehicles for four- and five-figure discounts too. IMO you still have to want to buy into the “Tesla” “concept”.
And congratulations (sarc) on learning one of the primary practical disadvantages of buying Tesla.
Love that Al B. Noni.
I have no particular taste in classical music, but I love this wholeheartedly. My copy has Heinz Holliger as the soloist.
My favorite is the 2nd track: Concerto a cinque, Op. 9/2: D Minor for Solo Oboe and Strings: Adagio.
The sustained initial note takes my breath away. It says to me: "Some days we have somewhere to go. Some days we might cut corners. But today ... slow down. Just slow down. Because today we take as long as needed to get it exactly right. No matter how long it takes."
Tesla also downloads new software from time to time. Mrs NorCal had a friend working at Tesla at the time and made sure that she got a version which has a lot of necessary underlying hardware. So she continues (as I understand it) to get new features as software is rolled out. If you had older hardware the new software couldn't deliver the new features.
But things go south from time to time. One morning it just wouldn't go. We had to call Support and they taught us equivalent to "control/alt/delete" to reboot the car. I kid you not.
They look distinctive and go fast, I’ll give them that. Otherwise, to each his own.
I’ve read too many stories and saw too many photos of bad frame welds, broken suspension pieces, mismatched paint colors, bad gaps, poor driver assist performance, etc. Add to that a generally unfriendly customer support experience. Not something I’d recommend.
A version of kk's "Forget Me Nots" that brings the bass forward.
There's a cute geeky girl doing the bass work and having fun showing us what it's all about. A wonderful tribute. https://youtu.be/BWiTwYBPInQ
My goodness! Turns out there's a whole cottage industry of daughter-like young girls who play a bass cover of the song.
I think I like the first one more. But the energy is ... really, really good. On both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRusbYIyRNI

Just tried to explain to a poster that US law on sedition and treason require force and treachery isn't enough. He countered with Benedict Arnold , and I reminded him that was before the present federal code of criminal law was enacted.
Oh well. I try.
Adios amigos de mi vida por esta noche.

--It’s been “successful” only because Musk has convinced enough people that owning Tesla is a status symbol and a massive virtue signal.--
Well, also they're very good cars.
A lot of guys I respect and who are dyed in the wool petrolheads have given remarkably positive reviews of them.
--Also, gov't subsidies! --
I'm sure CA is still forkin em over, but I think the Model 3 pushed Tesla past the Fed subsidy threshold some time ago.

“ they're very good cars”
They look distinctive and go fast, I’ll give them that. Otherwise, to each his own.
I’ve read too many stories and saw too many photos of bad frame welds, broken suspension pieces, mismatched paint colors, bad gaps, poor driver assist performance, etc. Add to that a generally unfriendly customer support experience. Not something I’d recommend.

narciso-
Where’s your Overton Window now? Same place it was 3 months ago? 6 months ago? A year ago?
How much further down the road can it go?
Hah!

Heck if i know, it should have snapped back already.

“ reboot the car”
I completely believe you Jim. I’ve read of many examples, for many reasons.
And many Tesla customers who thought they were buying that later hardware rev, but didn’t get it in the car as-delivered.

A version of kk's "Forget Me Nots" that brings the bass forward.
There's a cute geeky girl doing the bass work and having fun showing us what it's all about. A wonderful tribute.

My goodness! Turns out there's a whole cottage industry of daughter-like young girls who play a bass cover of the song.
I think I like the first one more. But the energy is ... really, really good. On both.
