Did anyone see a tweet from Trump earlier today calling out John Huber? I saw it an hour or so ago but now I can't find it.

Narc,

A hole in your macular is very hard to repair. Doesn't work 90% of the time. My doc is fabulous and determined to get this repaired. She told me the most it's ever taken her is 4 surgeries. I said - good - this will be my 4th. She said: "Nope, 2 of them were procedures". So tomorrow is my 2nd. But I have complete faith in her. My guess is every other Florida surgeon would have given up.

That 1934 law is going to suuuuccckk for them, when it hits.

Rocco

Still praying Jane.

Nice to see you RG.

And if the vast majority of good cops did a better job of policing their own and weeding out the bad cops, or reining them in so that stuff like this incident in Minnesota, or the Dimond shooting, or other bad incidents, don't happen, then we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.

Ain't gonna happen, with all due respect. It's a brotherhood and an unwritten rule that cops don't rat each other out. I know it's not right but it's the way it is. Are they going to flush four years of college, (these days), eight or twelve weeks of boot camp academy training, years of service already worked, a mortgage, wife and kids, because one knucklehead screws up?

With that said, 30 years of restraining cons, I never saw another screw kneel on a neck like that. We were trained in compression asphyxiation 20 years ago. Especially, big guys, you can't lay them prone on their bellies with their hands cuffed behind their backs, lawsuits ensued, policies were changed.

But maybe there's hope. It wasn't too long ago when a cop could another cop a break if caught drunk driving. Those days are over.

Gotta mow, later

Jane

BTW, I'm listening to/watching Clarence Thomas. (We are at the Anita Hill point, and I can't bear it.)

Narciso

Splunge indeed.

James D.

rocco, I totally get that.

But the flip side is that police then don't get to complain when the public lumps the good cops in with the bad.

Maybe that's not fair either, but if the good cops are going to protect the knucklehead (or outright nutcase) over the knucklehead's victims, well...

Threadkiller

Tom, RG linked it here:

https://mobile.twitter.com/VincentCrypt46/status/1265982111107837952

I am assuming that he wrote it as a response to either of the articles he posted at the same time stamp. It is probably lost in all the spite filled responses.

I noticed the same phenomenon on SWC’s Twitter. Some of his comments within a particular tweet stream didn’t show up on his main page.

Melinda

https://it.ojp.gov/PrivacyLiberty/authorities/statutes/1288

This may play into it more heavily, and the EO is a ruse.

Tom R

I went back and checked Trump's timeline. That Huber tweet still doesn't show up on his timeline. Someone I follow retweeted it and that is how I got the link. That seems to indicate Twitter is doing something to suppress Trump's tweets.

Glad I looked at Trump’s main Twitter page. He retweeted Sundance at Conservative Treehouse.

"Police have tremendous power. And in the moment, regardless of right and wrong, regardless of the law, in an encounter with a cop if things get heated or go bad, your choices are to comply 100% (and hope the cop interprets your behavior that way), or to possibly get the crap beaten out of you, or get shot, or best case spend a night in jail and rack up some legal fees."

One, that's a wild exaggeration. There are far, far more cases of citizens defying, mouthing off, otherwise disrespecting, even physically resisting police, and walking away without a mark.

Two, if you have a problem with compelling people to obey lawful commands of police, might as well not bother having police. So better get to gearing up to do you own law enforcement.

"the problem of nutcases or jerks who are in public-facing positions is self-correcting"

Since when? I could be here for the next hour naming names.

"So, yeah, absolutely they ought to have yearly psych evaluations, and they ought to welcome it. Their power comes with a cost."

How nice of you to assign them a position. While you're tallying up the costs you want them to pay, might want to check the suicide rates of police. Or would you just consider that another sign they're all psych cases?

"Which way do we want the errors to go? As the potentially innocent citizen, I know what my vote is on that."

Be careful what you ask for, as you'll likely get it good and hard.

Rocco

As with the foolish woman in Central Park the other day, there but for the grace of God go I.

Yep, if everyone who is "a bit off," or even has a bit of an off day, is now subject to getting his life ruined because of social media, then there are going to be an awful lot of ruined lives.

Then there are these smug hipsters who decided it was their duty to 'out' the lady, resulting in her getting death threats:Ex-dog walkers of white woman who called cops on black man in Central Park share why they outed her.

To his credit, the "victim" has spoken out against the people making the threats. But he s till chose to share the video rather than just walk away like any sensible person.

Rocco

When I started in 1980, if we had to move a violent con, once we got them cuffed behind their back, we'd hogtie them with cuffs and leg shackles. That's how we'd carry them to the hole. Then someone died from compression asphyxiation and that method of restraint became illegal, iirc.

The grass grew another inch, gotta go.

jimmyk

And finally a few NYCers display a spine:

https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2020/05/27/new-york-city-businesses-reopening-early/

Of course the rebels are in the outer boroughs, Staten Island in particular. In Manhattan being PC is etched in stone.

We also get to hear a**hole Deblasio preemptively blaming these businesses for NYC not meeting the arbitrary hurdles Cuomo set up for reopening.

Dave (in MA)

The "victim" is some rando who walked up to someone and tried to entice the dog to eat something that he was carrying around. How was she to know he wasn't trying to poison the dog? If she hadn't said "African American" the whole thing wouldn't have gotten any attention, but the fact that she did say "African American" instead of "black" seems to indicate that this is a libtard vs. libtard scenario.

Threadkiller

But he s till chose to share the video rather than just walk away like any sensible person.

I was intentionally ignorant of the whole incident, but now I am a little curious. Did the dog walker say anything racist? The bits that I have seen make me wonder how any color woman is supposed react when any color man, who is a complete stranger, is filming them while there are nobody else around.

Threadkiller

...there is..

jimmyk

Dave, I heard that story and I heard the story that he told her that her dog was supposed to be on a leash. Maybe they're both true.

MissMarple2

When I was going over the several articles about the social media EO last night, I ran into several comments about drug rings, pedo rings, terrorists and others being on the sites and no one doing anything about it, even after it was reported to the sites and the FBI.

I really thin this is something that should be looked at. Why are they allowing this stuff? No newspaper or TV channels could legally carry such stuff and pass it out or broadcast it everywhere.

I WAS encouraged by the appearance of the FCC Chairman on Tucker Carlson, because he sounded like a Ric Grenell type who would DO something.

jimmyk

Why are they allowing this stuff?

MM, the people who run those social media sites are too busy trying to stamp out conservative thought to bother worrying about pedo rings and terrorists. Evidently they view conservatives as more dangerous.

I've got to step out for a couple of hours but wanted to bring up the Whitaker video TK linked last night.

Whitaker says the Mueller team did not inform their supervisors on what they were doing in their investigations. I interpret that to mean the unethical aspects of the Mueller SC we know about. Mueller and Rosenstein were the two supervisors. Why would Weissman and others SC lawyers feel the need to mislead Mueller and Rosenstein on what they were doing? You would think if Mueller and Rosenstein were part of the coup as Sundance, Fitton, Bongino and other pundits are saying then there would be no reason for Weissman and others to mislead them and/or hide things from them.

Anyone else have a different interpretation for what Whitaker said?

From where I sit, there's one fundamental point. The more power you are given over your fellow citizens, the more accountable you have to be for that power and how you exercise it.

I don't think it's OK to just say, one out of every 100, or 1,000, or whatever number of cops will be a jerk/nutcase/etc and at some point he's going to maim or kill somebody who in no way deserves it, and oh, well, stuff happens.

MissMarple2

Tom R,

I haven't listened to the interview yet.

However, the phrase "plausible deniability" does come to mind.

KevlarKid

I've been staying close to the tragedy in Minneapolis. Some of my professional contacts are part of a ministerial delegation who have just landed in Minneap this morning.

Their mission is to engage in dialogue with different sectors of the metro population and with police; their aim is to establish dialogue which helps everybody process the horrors and helplessness of it all, and to move out of the quicksand.

As with EVERYTHING RACIAL the Jackal Media is reporting the worst reactions to the killing ( Target, so far).

That is as unfortunate as it is evil.

For example; The delegation is made up some of the finest men in America--- and their perspectives on what CAN BE DONE in the wake of the killing will be underreported or slimed as Sharptonesque huckstering.

The media will push for more stringent Psych evals and "better training" for cops. But those will fail to get to the root, primary racialized influences on the behavior of men and women who inhabit cop bodies of every color.

Such evals have been useful in weeding the obvious. But there is more to it.

Overbearing focus and reporting on Black Lives Matter and other agitating players solves nothing.

A way forward for us all, so that we can get ourselves out of this national quicksand, to live in Freedom and Liberty- as declared, as intended for we citizens, is to consider Racism from an innovative point of view.

A highly recommended read by a Minneapolis-based author (available on Amazon), "Through My Grandmother's Hands." I'm studying it now.

New York Times Admits Report on 26-Yr-Old E.R. Doctor Who Died from Coronavirus Was Completely Made Up

Tom R

Glad I checked before I left.

Gross managerial incompetence does not a hero make

If you know someone is corrupt, one way to put them into prison or justify firing them and possibly disbarring them is to set a trap for them fully expecting them to act corrupt so you can catch them in the act. The current reality we live in fully supports the theory described above.

jimmyk

Ext@11:52, that almost sounds like an innocent mistake, except that the original story fit the NYT's agenda, so they were prone to those mistakes.

And who knows whether the claim that there was a different 26-year-old with the same name as that doctor who did die is actually true. No details are provided. It may be a second lie to make the first bit of sloppy reporting sound less egregious.
