Heh, TM.
So happy for you Momto2

MissMarple2

Narciso,

No one has yet explained to me why 5 DEMOCRAT governors DELIBERATELY ordered the infected elderly into nursing homes with OTHER elderly and sick, increasing their states' deaths per capita.

I also want to know why suddenly, Florida has this huge spike. Is no one looking at that other than to blame DeSantis for opening the state early?

Is anyone wondering if vials of the virus have been smuggled into the country? It would be pretty easy to do in Florida with its long expanse of coast. It would also be easy to pay dim bulb youngsters (Antifa) to get infected and sashay around coughing on people in line at groceries and drugstores.

Maybe I am paranoid and silly, but after the last six months NOTHING is worth ignoring, as far as I am concerned!

Narciso

Wwll where is the spike miami orlando tampa, whats beem going on there for six weeks

rich

carrying over from the other thread

good guess ab

>>>Indeed, as Trump has yammered about imaginary antifa “terrorism,” disturbing evidence is emerging about an actual domestic terrorist group in the United States — but one that aligns itself politically with Trump. The so-called “boogaloo” movement, which uses the 1984 movie sequel “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo” in reference to a second civil war the group hopes to provoke, began appearing earlier this year in support of protests against coronavirus lockdowns, toting rifles and wearing tactical vests along with their trademark Hawaiian shirts.<<<

pretty much what i expected. antifa -> fake

boogaloo -> real and dangerous

35 days of rioting and violence ... peaceful protests.

>>>It's best used only to describe physical violence intended not to merely harm individuals, but to intimidate or coerce an entire population for political purposes.<<<

without a hit of irony.

i'm smelling the stench of a splc cook up maybe with an assist from the atf on this one.

Congrats, Momto2, both on the wedding and on the resumption of pjs! And God bless Violet--poor young lady--now that they know what it is she has a pretty good chance, I guess--but what do I know?

Florida's spike is of cases. I'll be there soon and my concern is very, very low.

rich

other things contributing to the spike, in addition to the healthcare approved protests, new yorkers and new jerseyites bringing the virus with them and importing cases from central and south america.

I thought of linking that. Then i thought naw. 'Itll be fine'

Anonamom suggested sending Violet postcards and "Get Well" cards so she would get some mail, since it looks like a long hospitalization time.

Gentlejim posted the info but I thought I would bring it over to make it easier to find.

We need a Rogue's Gallery of governors! And another for Senators (leading with Romney).

Tomorrow I think I will make a file which I can save and we can add to.

ccgirl

I am like Biden. I can never get a name right. Congrats, Mom2! I actually went back to check your posting name, and I still messed it up. Jeepers. Well, when I post in the future, you can all say, oh it’s just Ccgirl, she never knows who is who. Sorry.

I think Howie Carr said we are 4th in the nation for unemployment? Charlie Jerker (my new name) should be so proud.

Rich, my willowed reply from the last thread:

Maybe I'll introduce myself by email to Denielle Cazzolla, Editor and link our last AP editorial and my book, "Take Back Your News".

I might suggest that I understand her view, if she has been assuming AP articles are accurate.

I mean, I’m retired. What else do I have to do. ... unless someone has a good idea for augmenting retirement pay.

Speaking of that, we have an olive oil bottling plant in town. If we could flavor some wisely we could augment our income.

... for Riley Children's Hospital.

Today I wrote to her about Violet to tell her what a small world it is and to tell her, "No. Thank you!"

Henry, Shannon O’Brien lost, I believe after she stated something like girls under 16 years old should be able to obtain abortions without parental consent. Yikes that was not so long ago. And then we got Romney, who I,and my family, admired. But I was pissed, and many were, about his health care initiative. Anyway Shannon would probs win in a landslide these days.

I hated Gingrich for his ads in that presidential primary back then. Now I wonder, who knew what?

it started out as a 4chan troll then the atf needs some arrests so they search through the files to find some saps to dress up hawaii shirts.

but not violence ... 35 days of looting and burning businesses in about a dozen us cities.

it is plainly obvious that antifa is real, their paramilitary wing has had training at terrorist facilities in turkey (and i'd hazard a guess the gaza strip), and they have both national and local command structures.

boogaloos are a 4chan troll and the people arrested have had their hands held by atf handlers all the way to arrest.

ccgirl, Shannon ran on boilerplate Dem platform. As enforced by her Co conspirator Wendy (another soccer classmate). My good friend Ted Kanavas (R Senator WI, Walker’s backchannel during the fleebagging in 2010) pointed out the copy / paste nature of her platform at the time. I don’t know if Shannon believed that about abortion, or was just following pro for a Soros cash for office. Soros started with a Sec State project. Shannon did win at Sec State in MA. Some topics are best left unasked at college reunions, so I don’t really know.

Thanks for linking that because I was unaware of it. The review is surely more interesting than the book it's about; I'm pretty sure the photographer was married to saxophonist David Murray briefly. It contains some Sun Ra minutiae I'll have to absorb. Fantastic musician. Extremely well read but always with the aim of proving his nutball views that he was from outer space. Coupe Deval's father was a long time saxophonist in his band but the real stud in the band was John Gilmore who influenced Coltrane. Gilmore only played apart from the group a very few times I know of:

I think that eviction article was a little overwrought.

Evictions that were in the works prior to Covid-19 will now begin to proceed.

People had an opportunity to cure the problem or save up enough money to start over elsewhere. It's not like it's a "new" event for them. And it's not a particularly a good idea to assume that all evictions pending will be due to finances. Many evictions are are initiated because of bad behavior.

jim nj

From the Zerohedge article

https://denver.cbslocal.com/2020/07/10/coronavirus-evictions-denver-acacia-apartments/

‘Rent Strike’ Signs Hang In Windows Of Acacia Apartments As Eviction Moratorium Ends

"Signs hang in windows that read “Rent Strike.” For the Acacia Apartments at 14th Avenue and Pennsylvania, the coronavirus rent moratorium has brought a rent standoff with some tenants.

Brand Willis is one of those tenants.

“So we have withheld our rent indefinitely,” he said."

Some people seem to think they are entitled to "free" money.

If you have a legitimate complaint a judge will listen to you after you give him the money due. If you don't bring that money to court and have a damn good lawyer kiss your apartment goodbye.

Narciso

Well they do make the worse possible argument, i lost my job or have barely able to make ends meet. I didnt receive unemployment or just a trickle You arent merely defiant,

jim nj

It kinda sounds like this is just one more activist group trying to stir up a controversy and idiots are getting caught up in it.

NJ, and I'm sure many other states, have existing programs that help tenants avoid eviction with emergency aid payments. I suspect that some groups are arguing that the Feds should be shoveling money into these programs.

Pinandpuller

“What all the wise men promised has not happened and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”-William Lamb

Narciso

Seriously a tenant union, thats just craziness

jim nj

Narciso,

I think a decent landlord like OL will work with his "good" tenants. There are a lot of ways that can be done before beginning an eviction proceeding.

If you have a decent set of holdings you can weather a few missed payments. That is going to be a lot harder for an owner-occupied two or four family house.

If somebody isn't going to be able to afford their current rent very soon they should voluntarily down-size with a full discussion with their current landlord.

There won't be enough money available to maintain everyone in their current abodes. People that proactively plan and work with their landlords will find solutions. People that avoid their situation will suffer the consequences.

JiB and Henry,

Lightning protection. Back in 84, one of my very first detectors was installed in Melbourne FL. We put in all the normal protections: ground rods, isolation transformer, battery backup, arrestors, etc. wasn’t very long before lightning took much of it out. Charred circuit boards, the whole bit.

Found out a nearly secret fix: chemical ground rods. Fairly widely used in places like FL where the native soil resistivity is crap. Some substations have huge arrays of them to handle the energy dumped by a strike.

So, thereafter we put two chemical rods on diagonal corners of the bungalow and conventional rods in the alternate corners (for code) and bonded them all together with heavy copper which tied to Mecca (ground plate) inside the bungalow where all the big arrestors came together. 200 systems later, never lost one to lightning.

When we redid our place here on the rock, I put a chemical ‘bed’ in the leach field close to the house and welded the copper to the steel frame behind the glass wall and referenced the power neutral to that. The live rock everything else is anchored to doesn’t suck much charge, so we we’re pretty vulnerable without it.

Stuff like "cis gendered heteronormity bias revealed in dog parks"-- all complete and utter nonsense.

He says some truly amazing things (for someone other than Kayleigh McEnany) about these utterly contrived "areas of scholarship", and is especially scathing about the woman who is peddling her White Fragility book.
