Change we can believe in - in an Eerie Coincidence, the first US commemorative quarter of 2020 came out in February and features - I kid you not - a bat.

I discovered I couldn't watch past 5:55 of the video. The riot scenes were bad enough, but looking at AG Barr's face made my heart hurt -- his expression said so much.
I also kept thinking, where have all of these evil people come from, have they lived among us, seething with frustration, hatred, envy, and rage, with masks on their faces? Their lust for destruction, looting, and rioting is primal. Who birthed and raised these people?
Where do we go from here?

I quit following Iowahawk when he threw his hissy-fit over Trump getting the nomination. To my mind, if Ben Carson and Ted Cruz can swallow their pride and take a cabinet position, he can damn sure stick up for the American people and not mock the doctors who say it is effective.
Not only that, insulting the Jamaican lady doctor and saying that Coronovirus-19 is caused by "demon sex" is unbelievably insulting!
Posted by: MissMarple2 | July 29, 2020 at 05:20 PM

I've tried a tennis racquet before; the ones I tried it on eluded it pretty well although my heart wasn't in it to clobber them because as pesty as they are in a house, they consume lot of mosquitos outside.

Trump just spoke last week in the Portnoy interview about how he gets himself into trouble by retweeting things without researching them sufficiently, and this is another case of that. She might know what she's talking about on this topic, but there's video out there of her talking about some crazy voodoo crap, and the TDSers are going crazy with it.
On the other hand, if Trump had said anything disparaging about that very same doctor, the very same shitbags would be climbing over each other calling him racist. For that matter, if Trump had never mentioned HCQ a few months ago it would now be the universally prescribed treatment for this.

Captain Hate,
When my dad got home from the war, he bought a piece of land on what was then the edge of the city limits, and built a sheet metal/furnace repair shop and a small aluminum-sided bungalow. We four girls slept in 2 sets of bunk beds, and when my brother was born in 1956, my dad converted what had been a walk-in closet to a VERY small bedroom, just large enough for a small crib and chest of drawers.
Those were the days when most of us didn't have color TV, let alone cable. By Spring we had usually worn out our board games. When the weather got nice,we played outside.
Our greatest outdoor entertainment was sitting on my grandad's 1957 blue Thunderbird (he had moved into an apartment my dad had constructed over our garage after my paternal grandmother died) and watching OUR white trash neighbors fight! (We called them "billies" here for hillbillies.)
And I am talking REALLY fight, with screaming, yelling, throwing things, swinging guitars like clubs, and actually brandishing BUTCHER KNIVES. We were probably an acre from their fracas due to the small pasture with goats and donkeys and a mule between us, so I don't think we were in any danger.
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that when we started relating this type of entertainment to my mother's mother, she decided it was time to move us to the country, where we would not have that stuff to watch.

Back thread:
"Do any of you get continual messages from the Trump campaign asking for money?"
I get 30 or 40 per day. Hard sell, some I would call bullying. Many are laughably deceptive: does PDJT really spend time discussing why my name is not on the Donated Today list? Really, people are tricked by that?
Half of the emails are for Trump and half for other candidates. Some perhaps scams.
For fund raising at least, it's "life is normal". Not very appealing but I try to ignore (you can always unsubscribe). Nothing clever, nothing 4D, nothing to make me feel part of a team, part of a movement.
I downloaded the Trump app but deleted it when they required my cell phone, since I had no confidence it would be used responsibly.
Is it safe to assume fund raising is largely outsourced?

Jim, I was never in danger of dying from Covid. My o2 desperately needed supplementation. The second night in the hospital I became quite panic stricken. I convinced myself, as I watched my O2 refuse to increase, that I was destined for a ventilator. I did not sleep a wink as I physically trembled all night long. It was an irrational thought in retrospect as I reflected on how little O2 I was given. Nonetheless I was scared out of my mind and withholding that fear from my family, which only made my mental spiraling much more overwhelming. As stupid as it sounds it is almost a personal PTSD issue I have to contend with. So many people have been through so much worse, I feel ashamed to even mention my silly reaction.
As far as the process and the care the hospitals have their systems down. Covid lacks lethality when it is addressed with immediate Emergency Room care. There is no real overloading of hospitals. What I saw was that their concentrated focus of Covid may lead to other ailments not getting as urgent attention as is necessary. This is an unnecessary consequence of reducing staff at the beginning and failing to compartmentalise(sp?) non-covid in the same streamlined fashion as the covid wards.

Along with some other presidential hopefuls, Hillary Clinton spoke in Selma, Alabama, on Sunday to commemorate the famed civil right march that put that city on the map.
Hillary was not the first politician to conjure up an ersatz southern accent to show her street cred. In 2007, Barack Omama used the occasion of the march’s 52nd anniversary to show down he was with the movement in what biographer David Remnick charitably called “a slightly different dialect.”
In fact, Obama used his best black preacher voice to tell his audience a story so comically unanchored to reality that had a black Republican’s told it his candidacy would have died before the evening news even aired.
“My very existence might not have been possible had it not been for some of the folks here today,” Obama told the civil rights veterans gathered to mark the events of “Bloody Sunday.”
“Something happened back here in Selma, Alabama,” Obama continued. This something “sent a shout across the ocean,” which inspired Obama Sr., still “herding goats” back in Kenya, to “set his sights a little higher.” This same something also “worried folks in the White House” to the point that the “the Kennedy's decided we're going to do an air lift.”
As the saga continued, Obama Sr. got a ticket on the airlift and met Obama’s mother, a descendant of slave-owners. “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge,” preached Obama.
“So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I'm not coming home to Selma, Alabama.”
He didn’t, and he wasn’t. Something about Selma inspired Obama to aggrandize his history to Homeric levels. For starters, herding goats in his father’s town was like mowing lawns in an American one. Everyone did it as a kid, even the son of the village’s most affluent guy.
Obama’s prosperous grandfather, by the way, had not been imprisoned and tortured by the British for helping the anti-colonial Mau-Mau rebels, as Obama, in another bit of canvas-darkening, claimed in Dreams from My Father.
By the time his son came along, Grandpa Obama was able to dress him in western clothes and send him to English-speaking Christian schools. Obama Sr. was working as a clerk in Nairobi, not a goatherd in East Bejesus, when he applied for the first airlift. For the young or those of short memory, the Republican Eisenhower was the president in 1959 when Obama Sr. came to the United States.
Although born in Kansas, Ann Dunham was not exactly Dorothy. She spent her formative years in the state of Washington where she earned the nickname "Anarchist Annie" under the tutelage of some hipster teachers.
By the time of the Selma march, Dunham had long since been seduced and abandoned by the roguish Obama Sr. In fact, her son was conceived four years before anyone outside of Alabama ever heard of Selma. What amazes in retrospect is how Obama found the nerve to tell so flagrantly dishonest a story. Having a dependably obliging media surely fortified his spine.

O2 in the 80s is bad news. I imagine that 50-60 is near death.

Jane, I tried with instant coffee crystals. (Peanut butter is reserved for mouse traps, Gundry no like peanuts). Both nostrils, plus each nostril independently, worked fine. Mountain grown FTW.

Why would anyone be amazed? His entire life is one big fraud. The biggest fraud ever foisted on the US electorate.

It’s official: The hearing is over & not a single congressman asked Tim Cook WTF he was talking about here & why he was voluntarily whitewashing a CCP company deemed a national security threat by the U.S. intel community & that is being prosecuted by the DOJ for a host of crimes.

Apple's Tim Cook: “Companies like...Huawei & Google built successful businesses w/ different approaches. We’re okay w/ that.” Huawei is a Chinese espionage org helping CCP w/ surveillance & is charged under RICO & w/ sanctions evasion. A "different approach" Apple is "okay with."

Tim Cook’s best selling product is manufactured in China. China is his biggest market for stuff. Why would politicians funded by a China (Dems & RINOs) point that out?

Find something you can smell! Not a COVID rest.
