Mel "North Carolina State Legislator Pleads Guilty to Making a False Statement to a Bank"
Rhetorical question: So why is it a crime to lie to a bank? Is it a crime to lie to, say, a car dealer? Or a Landlord? Or to X,Y, or Z?
If a tenant lies to me and that damages me, then I can sue him in civil court if I can make the case. If somebody lies to me on a leasing application, I assume that is why I do Due Diligence before I accept the claims as fact.
If all of a sudden such lies become crimes and I can send them to jail, then why should I work so hard checking out the claims?
Maybe the banks should be more careful before risking the money of others?
Across the top of the aerial photo, from left to right, are four major cities: Houston, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Mobile.
A dangerous storm surge in an area with refineries, off-shore oil drilling, chemical plants, and ports is going to cause serious disruption in manufacturing and delivering of goods. Hopefully most people got out. I am watching what's happening.
JSonline says "Court records show Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, of Antioch, Ill., has been charged there as a fugitive from justice. That document, reviewed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, said he faces a first-degree intentional homicide charge in Kenosha County."

USMS Director Donald Washington and Georgia law enforcement officials will announce the results of Operation Not Forgotten, an operation resulting in the location, rescue or recovery of 39 children, tomorrow 1pm EST at the USMS Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force Headquarters.
Contains selected transcripts (although quite a bit) of the conversation between Floyd and the policemen, including while Floyd was standing, while he was walking to the car, and after he was lying on the ground, as well as some of the results after his blood was drawn at the hospital.

Frederick and I drove to our counties offices to apply for a road test appointment so he can get his full privilege driver's license (with exceptions, of course, he is barely 17). Told that appointments are being delayed. Not CoVid but because parking lot where the driver's test is taken is being paved.
Nice to know that there is another bureaucratic excuse not to perform their duties to taxpayers other than CoVid.
He looks good on the issues. His bio says he was "a founding member of the BBA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee", though. It's all moot anyway in this stupid state.
I took my driver's test on the roads in the vicinity of where the Norwood MA RMV office was, not in a parking lot. Is that how it's done these days? The tests back in those days were conducted by a Registry cop carrying a sidearm. I wonder if they still do that.
A man notices that two large women sitting at the bar have heavy accents. He approaches them and says, "By any chance, are you two ladies from Ireland?" "Wales, you idiot," one snaps back at him. "Oh, I'm sorry," he says. "Are you two whales from Ireland?"

Miss M, with a 20’ surge projected staying is suicide. A 10’ surge from Carla in 61 flooded every house but ours. A 20’ surge would have had my parents, older brother and I on the roof through a cat 4 hurricane. I was 2, mom was pregnant. There isn’t any high land until Arkansas. Forget the wind. That much water is bigger than a Three Gorges collapse in China (although East TX and central LA are less populated).

Nice historical perspective from Hayward. I know we’re not supposed to “get cocky,” but I still think Hombre Naranja Malo wins in a landslide. We shall see, right?
--All we know is pain, loss, and given constant reminders of how we really don’t even MATTER.. and i’ve said this before.. just to matter.. isn’t really a big ask.--
Lyle, I wasn’t a bad political prognosticator up until Clinton. I could not fathom his being elected not just once but twice. So I mostly gave up on prognostications as I didn’t trust my judgments about the electorate anymore.
What bothers be about this one is: 1) the progs clearly have made inroads but I can’t say how much, and 2) the massive fraud that I believe is being cooked up.
I've got a friend down here whose daughter and her family live in Kenosha. She was visiting there until Sunday. Her daughter and family have gone to a hotel.
Jane, prudent move. I hope they have a home to return to, but it doesn’t look good through the weekend. Antioch will burn tonight from the chatter I’ve seen. Not much in Antioch, except a bar that has live music and collects lots of toys for the Marine Corps League drive every Christmas.
A geographical note: Kenosha is halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago, tied by commuter rail to Chicago. Antioch is just south of the border next to the western end of Kenosha County.
I am still running the Kenosha rioting, shooting, killing, response and whatever aftermath there may be through my mind. America's mental dicease comes to Kenosha first instead of LA, or SF or Boston?
Okay. It's Wisconsin and we all know everyone there has a rifle to go deer hunting. But to be a harbinger of insurrection?
Do you think that Trump doesn't KNOW they will cheat if they can?
Do you think he didn't set everyone he trusted onto investigating it beginning January 20, 1017?
If we trust the man with national security, shouldn't he be smart enough to catch the dems at their amateurish shady dealings?
They are already getting caught in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other states. They are getting scared and sloppy. I need to send you over to read some Carlos Osweda threads and you would develop a sterner demeanor about this. Ha!

Do read that PL piece if you already have not, AB. Clinton in ‘92 had Perot. He had good ole Dole in ‘96. As to your numbered points, add this: 3) rioting, looting, mayhem, destruction, arson, etc. without ONE dem denouncing them. Even the tepid Trumpers and regular folks can see this.
JiB, the opposition started in earnest with the SEIU all stars occupying the WI state Capitol building for a year after Act 10 and throughout the recalls. Lots of intimidation including random small businesses in Union Grove. The Cold War was a decade along when BLM came to Kenosha. Burning that downtown affects everyone in Racine and Kenosha counties. It threatens the highest growth part of the state (if not nation). People around here were wary of the DNC violence spreading out, now it has. And Evers is still being stingy with the NG. If there is a big enough law enforcement presence in Kenosha, where do the activists go? Antioch? Racine? Industry along 94? Or hit internal targets like Burlington or Union Grove? This crap needs to be shut down hard and fast.
Pin, you likely stopped in Janesville as Mel pointed out. Unless it was after visiting Gus and I. That would be 94 through Kenosha.
re Illinois law, the are peculiar. Weapon must be unloaded in a case, locked in a separate part of the vehicle from ammo, a nice trick in an SUV. I hunt in Illinois on occasion.
That is true, on the way to Milwaukee. On the way home I didn’t want to drive thru or very close to Chicago so I drove down to Rockford. Which Wisconsin town is on the other side of the river. ?
And the 17 yr old is an Illinois resident.

Hey, why not?

I'm happy with NBA players boycotting the rest of the playoffs. That way, when I'm in a bar, TVs will be focused on Stanley Cup playoffs.

Another Bob,
Do you think that Trump doesn't KNOW they will cheat if they can?
Do you think he didn't set everyone he trusted onto investigating it beginning January 20, 1017?
If we trust the man with national security, shouldn't he be smart enough to catch the dems at their amateurish shady dealings?
They are already getting caught in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other states. They are getting scared and sloppy. I need to send you over to read some Carlos Osweda threads and you would develop a sterner demeanor about this. Ha!

I wasn’t a bad political prognosticator up until Clinton.

I went to Indiana via Rockford so I think I went right thru Kenosha. Pretty sure that’s where I stopped for gas and unloaded my pistol.
An Illinois cop said I wouldn’t have to do that based on current law, but he told me that on Quora so...

You went through Madison , not Kenosha, I-90, not I-94.

Co-op' usually corresponds to woke owners.
In this case it doesn’t merely “correspond,” it practically screams woke.

"we all know everyone there has a rifle to go deer hunting"
Pretty much. For a 17 yr old Kyle Rittenhouse displayed considerable composure under the circumstances.

I didn't even know, (or care) that the NBA was holding playoffs.

I'm way ahead of the curve in ignoring the NBA.
Raise the rim a foot and stop blowing the whistle every 10 seconds and I might watch.

President Reagan’s message to a media who protected and defended rioters in 1969.
His message is more pertinent today than ever, as the state of our national media has only grown more rotten, biased, and disconnected over the years.
The kicker comes at the end.

That is true, on the way to Milwaukee. On the way home I didn’t want to drive thru or very close to Chicago so I drove down to Rockford. Which Wisconsin town is on the other side of the river. ?

Beloit is just over the border from Rockford.

I haven’t cared about the NBA since Jordan retired. I couldn’t possibly care less about it now. The Bron can go FH. The whole league can follow.

Beloit is Wisconsin, South Beloit is in Illinois. The intersection of I-43 and 90.

Yeah, must have been Janesville.
For residents of Illinois it had been you could carry the unloaded gun in a bag with the magazine.
Basically for the bookends of Minnesota and Illinois I had a combination lock aluminum briefcase. Those two states are so lame.
