I don't know, Gus. My point is that GWB had eight years to shape the FBI up and didn't do a damn thing but Trump is the bad guy for not prosecuting anyone in less than four after eight years of Gaylord and his wingman making the situation much worse.

Narciso

No he just got rid of the mandate, jane.

This was retweeted by the President from the White House web site. It was originally issued on September 25.

Biden cheats at golf and he still sucks. I’ve seen it firsthand.

Wasn’t the “mandate” reversal all the energy Eddie could muster? He still deserves an ass whoopin for all that he didn’t accomplish because “that’s not who we are”.

7th Circuit... ACB’s zone.

@jrrosswrites

7th Circuit has stayed a judge's order extending the deadline for Wisconsin absentee ballots to Nov. 9 so long as they're postmarked by Election Day.

Decision hadn't taken effect yet b/c Conley stayed it 7 days to give parties time to appeal.

I saw Darryl Strawberry play for the St. Paul Saints in 1996. You could spot that swing a mile away. Jack Morris (a St. Paul native) was pitching for the Saints that game.

So confirming the new justice just before or just after the election is moot as long as the new justice is confirmed.

It's much preferable to confirm before the election because that will demoralize the Dems. Then again most of them will already have voted by the time the Senate vote takes place.

Preaching to the choir, henry.

The funny thing is that as entrenched as they are the smart move, even without hindsight, was to lay low and hope Drumpf fucks up and, even if that doesn't happen wait until he's gone and the GOP goes back to promoting globalist losers. That they didn't do that lends credence to China owning every fucking one of them.

This scenario included Dems leaving DC to hide at the Tilted Kilt, or maybe Joe's basement, to prevent a quorum.
But in the comments people noted that only 1 member of a state's Congressional delegation needs to show up. The number of states with 100% Dem membership is not enough to deny a quorum.

henry

Why would Dems show up for the lame duck session to confirm ACB if they plan to throw the election into court inflicted chaos?

Confirm her before the election, or the left revolts about 8 PM Nov 3.

Besides my own distrust of any politician that was a dick during the Birther Wars, the first real stab at that goon, that I remember, was when Newt accused his “budget” as nothing more that “right wing social engineering.” Early 2011 I think. Joe Biden said last year that he kicked off his academic career at Delaware State University, a historically black university, but the institution has now denied that claim.

Biden made the declaration before the South Carolina Democratic primary - which he won by a landslide - during an October 2019 town hall event at Wilson High School in Florence

'I got started out of an HBCU, Delaware State — now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State. They’re my folks,' Biden told the crowd.

But a spokesperson for Delaware State University has now denied that the Democratic presidential nominee was a student at the school, The Washington Times reported

'Vice President Biden did not attend DSU,' Carlos Holmes, Director of News Services, told the publication.

What was the Hewitt scenario?

Right after the 2010 midterms when the GOP captured the House by coopting the Tea Party's power of the purse argument, weepy Orange Drank was still in charge but Private Ryan was the budgetary genius expert. So Foghorn Leghorn Hewitt had him on and he sounded like the Seinfeld Steinbrenner saying "you've gotta go big on spending cuts with this mandate: big big big big big". Ig, I just saw your note about the 2nd generation Corvair. One college summer I commuted 45 minutes each way to work, sharing the driving with a cousin. He was using his family's 2nd gen Corvair, dark blue Corvair Monza Spyder with a white convertible top. I loved it, although the clutch was a little rough compared to European cars and especially to my soft VW beetle clutch.

Extraneus

"Pandemic is Over"

You have to feel sorry for people who succumb to the panic. I see them every day, since I'm in an area where masks are essentially voluntary. I carry one on my arm, and yesterday at Subway a healthy looking guy in his 40s asked me to put it on, after I stood more than 6' behind him for several minutes. I just looked at him and said ok and put it on until he got his sammies and left. That's the only reason I carry it, so I was happy to comply.

No sense scaring people or contributing to their fears, but it's a shame how manipulated people can be. The girl making his sandwiches had her mask down below her nose, but that didn't scare him. smh

Porchlight

It's pathetic, Extraneus.

The ONLY thing it's good for is a visual way to sort out the losers. Not in the stores where it's required, but out and about, especially outside in nice weather.

Last night was a hoot. We went to an old German biergarten in a tiny town northwest of here. It's a popular destination spot. There had to be 250-300 people there and only about one out of 20 were wearing masks. I wouldn't say they were packed together exactly but each table was full and there were long lines with not a ton of distancing.

There was a band playing and someone in the audience yelled "Freedom!" and the singer said "you got that right buddy."

This was in conservative Williamson County. So great to see. People were taking videos of the crowd but not in a Karen way, in a "this is so awesome" way.

lyle

At Albertsons yesterday as I was self-scanning my purchases a male Karen came up to the clerk that hovers in the area and asks him, “Are you enforcing mask requirements in this store?” Of course the employee says “yes.” Karen informs him that there’s a guy not wearing his mask properly. Employee replies, “well, we’ll go ask him to wear it properly.” I look at the rat and say, “good job...KAREN”. The look on his face was priceless.

lyle

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/09/what-should-we-expect-at-the-first-presidential-debate.php

Typical Mirengoff:

This year, we have neither a typical incumbent nor a typical challenger. President Trump’s approach to debates doesn’t rely on preparation. He relies less on knowledge of facts than on a combination of sweeping statements with some factual basis, his physical presence, and put downs. He probably can pull these things off in his sleep.

The one topic that I doubt Trump can bluster his way through is the pandemic, for which a segment of approximately 15 minutes will be set aside. I expect Biden to pound Trump on this subject. Undoubtedly, the script has already been prepared for him.

Trump has okay defenses of his handling of the pandemic, but I haven’t heard him blend them into a persuasive case. He usually relies on attacking China and on factually dubious claims about the U.S. is doing in relation to other countries.

Of course there’s NO chance Trump might just kill it, right, PM?

Extraneus

I can't see scaring people on purpose, especially if someone is that worried, like this guy apparently was to take several minutes to get his courage up. Yes, they should be the ones wearing masks, and he had a good one on, but I'm not going to get into a fight over it, at least until the legal mandate is lifted.

henry

Tstorms and a cold front about to blow through here.

Another Bob
