I have a hard time seeing the Times story about Trump's taxes changing any minds. Jim Geraghty notes an unsurprising gap between Trump's rhetoric and behavior. More shoulder shrugging from Reason - active real estate investors get plenty of tax breaks.
Whatever. It saves the media from wondering why the FBI relied on a possible Russian agent for the FISA requests backed by the Steele dossier.
Interestingly, Mr. Danchenko co-authored a paper with Fiiona Hill, a star of the Trump Impeachment Show.
Ms. Hill went on to join President Trump’s National Security Council staff as a senior European specialist in 2017. She also testified at his House impeachment hearing. She said she believed Mr. Steele, with whom she once worked while he was a British intelligence officer, was played by Russian disinformation.
Steele, duped?
Certainly

A reminder that $3000 used to be a scary “high deductible” plan that came with that HSA thing.
Also a reminder that premiums doubled due to the provisions that made insurers assume you were high risk
AssocAmerPhys&Surg @AAPSonline
The Hill has it partially right. ACA is a wealth transfer. But it's a transfer from the pockets of the middle class to the bank accounts of insurers. Sure the insurers *might* pay for some care... after your $6000 to $12000 deductible is met. thehill.com/policy/healthc…

the old lurker question:
i am a current resident in an apartment complex with a lease expiring sometime june 2021. my dad is visiting me currently, and wants to stay in the area for health and personal reasons (friends and family are close to here and he has access to better doctors here than in florida) and we executed a lease on an apartment for him, with me listed as co-applicant, and both applications for him and me were approved. i am now told by the leasing manager they will not rent the apartment because it is "against the rules"? i can't find anything in my lease spelling this out (renting more than one unit in the complex) and if it is "against the rules" why was the application approved?
the location of the apartment is in montgomery county md.
this is a residential lease so might not be your wheelhouse, but any insight you might have would be helpful. you can send anything over to my email address if you prefer to keep it off the board.
and by-and-by my dad fell this afternoon and is in the hospital a few miles from here so any prayers would be appreciated.

Not to belittle Mr. clarice but "understanding the tax code" is a stretch since often differing sections are at odds with each other, the IRS won't give directions they'll be bound by and the answer ends up being what a tax court judge says it is. In that particular case. Does it get more derp state than that?
He probably is up to date on tax court rulings, though...

"U.S. District Judge Michael Watson wrote that while Ohio’s signature-matching requirements impose a “moderate" burden on voters" blah blah blah
Well, it is a surmountable problem. I will be an election volunteer this year, working for the County Registrar of Voters. I also took an "Election Observation" training class online with the Election Integrity Project and hope to be an election observer during the election.
One thing I learned about is signature verification.
Our training gave us the rules that the workers should be following (we'll see how closely they follow). But also, we learned that CA is already at 75% mail in ballots.
CA loosened the requirements for in-person voting years ago. So they must have solved the signature verification difficulty a long time ago. Unless they are ignoring signatures.

JUST IN: A lawyer for Peter STRZOK says some of the agent's notes recently made ublic by the FLYNN defense team "appear to have been altered," including with at least one handwritten notation that is incorrect >>>
These are the two pages of notes highlighted by Strzok's attorney. One has a handwritten notation of 1/4-5/17.
Another has a notation of 3/28/17. Unclear which is the one with the incorrect date, per Strzok's attorney.
STRZOK's attorney also points out somethign we've been noting recently: The disclosures by the Flynn team appear to violate a court order issued by Sullivan months ago, asking them to stop filing piecemeal documents until the DOJ review is complete.
Also of note: Sullivan granted Strzok's attorney leave to file his letter.

I gravitate more toward McCartney's work as I age. Post-Beatles Lennon is total crap IMO. Harrison and Ringo each showed notable genius here and there in their solo work. But McCartney is the musical master.
It's hopeless sorting their political opinions. The thought that Lennon might have had some sense is comforting. Ringo also seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy. McCartney, totally foolish in that department.
Since the Dakota and Trump International are practically next door to each other in NYC terms, I've come to associate them with each other. LOL.
