The NY Post runs a bizarre story of drowned Apples and Hunter emails. Let me say that by way of comparison, the media danced around the Steele dossier prior to the 2016 election because the allegations could not be verified. In early January 2017 Comey briefed Trump so his media pals could write "The President-elect was told today that Moscow allegedly had tapes of him peeing on hookers." Keeping it classy!
Now Twitter has banned any link to the story because reasons, but mainly the material may have been obtained illegally by someone. Kind of not how Twitter treated Trump's tax returns, but that's TOTALLY different because more reasons.
This story will change nothing other than the blood pressure of partisans on both sides.
The left loves referencing Harry Potter, so I’ll just leave this here:
“What exactly are you so happy about?' Harry asked her.
'Oh Harry, don't you see?' Hermione breathed. 'If she could have done one thing to make absolutely sure that every single person in this school will read your interview, it was banning it!”

As to this Wuflu BS. I went down to the corner store for a few items the other night. The new guy behind the counter got on me for not wearing a mask.(I have not worn a mask since this whole thing started)I just told him it was BS and to ring up my purchases. I then insisted he come from behind the counter and wipe down the electronic pen I had to use to sign my credit card purchase. Boy you should have seen his face. I am generally a mild-mannered guy but this little Napoleon got my dander up.

Lady Susan is fun, as the title character is just awful and completely unscrupulous, but she almost (wittily) manages to destroy a bunch of people before her schemes catch up with her. There was a pretty good rollicking film version a couple of years ago. And Austen was only in her late teens when she wrote it--had no illusions about human nature then or later. That's why I'm an Austen scholar.

Steph, I always thought Harry Potter was a series that was about the left attacking the right, ala Hitler. And then JK Rowling insisted it was not so, and went a bit mental. But I believe she can not unsee what is happening. Can a person write about tribunals, and then not see them? Plus she’s been under attack from the rads lately.

One more observation before I hit the sack;
Imagine the delicious irony if the anti trust laws, which were used to such powerful effect by our first progressive president Republican Teddy Roosevelt against the so-called robber barons, are used by a reelected conservative Republican president Donald Trump to gut the modern day progressive robber barons of Big Tech.
Maybe Trump should give a Cross of Silicon speech like William Jennings Bryan's Cross of Gold, except, you know, win instead.

Yes, lost my internet for two days and catching up was very concerned to hear about MM. A little relieved to hear that it may not be so bad. Very displeased that anything at all happened to her.
I usually don't comment on blegs for prayers and such. I offer the prayers, but I'm kind of anal about doing so publicly.
I'll make an exception for MM. And for KK's friend's son. My sister struggles with bi-polar disorder.
KK reminded me that I should call her and see how she is doing.

"Not one Founder mentioned anything about “hunting” or “skeet shooting” during the debates over the drafting of the Constitution."
"arms" was a commonly understood, and plural, term at the time. 30-40 years earlier in the French-Indian War it would have meant musket, pistol, hatchet, knife and more. Rifles appeared in the Revolution. Progress in weaponry, I think, was already assumed by the time of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights..

Re: travel.
We've done plenty; took our sixth plane ride Sunday. My kids have too. Some friends and some of their adult kids too.
We wear N-95s, but take the beverage the nice attendants offer, so take them off for part of the trip; use the hand wipes on the flights we've been given them. So far, so good.
At work, we (who are reportedly covered in aerosoles of the pharyngeal secretions of every patient we ventilate, so basically every patient who has a general anesthetic, and REALLY covered during intubation and extubation) number about 300 across all our facilities---and we are stable with ONE person testing postive for Covid back in April.
Which she is pretty sure got from her teens, who were both positive.
One person in seven months.
We wear N-95s during intubations and extubations, cover our eyes with glasses or goggles or the super cheap disposable plastic shields, and wash our hands.
That's it--and you can do that on a plane too, if that concerns you.
Zinc, HCQ or quercetin, vit D.
Vit c if you feel like you need a boost.
